  1. Absolutely... Chicago is a big market and the NBA will want to do all they can to bring Chicago a star/ Will Carlos Quentin hit 40 HRs this year?
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) See what happens when you don't sit Rose in the 4th, Vinny. Huge comeback. Hope they pull it out now. When someone figures this team out... please let me know.
  3. QUOTE (GarlandFan20 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 03:42 PM) Not that I know of. The only athletes I know with them are Alex Ovechkin and Shaq. Shaq's is hilarious by the way, everyone should follow him. Shaq gives away tickets when hes on the road... he just gave away two tickets to the lakers game tomorrow to somepeople who found him via twitter or something... crazy!
  4. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 01:39 PM) As soon as I saw the trade, that's exactly what I thought as well. I really really like Thigpen and would give him every shot to compete with Orton for the starting job. I like Thigpen too, the guy can run and throw on the run... which will be important if we cant shore up this offensive line.
  5. KC -- Matt Cassel NE -- 34th overall pick I like this move for both teams, the Pats basically add a first round pick (2nd pick of second round), the Chiefs get a young QB, and Matt Cassel gets a lot of money and a chance to start.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Matt Cassel has been traded to the Chiefs. The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss has confirmed the news, which is part of the trade sending Mike Vrabel West. There were rumors Cassel could be involved in a three-team swap, but it appears Kansas City will be his final destination. Compensation has not been announced, but it's safe to say the Tyler Thigpen era is over before it started. Cassel may not have excelled in every system, but he's set up for great long-term success under GM Scott Pioli and coach Todd Haley, who will play to his strengths. A new contract is likely. Feb. 28 - 1:06 pm et I honestly hope that Matt Cassell lights it up in KC, he's such a great story, his bro pitches in our system, and he's really easy to root for.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 01:47 AM) It's tricky. There's no way of knowing what a team's mindset is going into any particular game. Did the Magic not get up for the Bulls the other night? Stuff happens. This Bulls team isn't good enough to take ANYONE for granted. So shame on them IF that's the case. We're definitely in agreement that the team embarrassed themselves. But they've done that about 15-20 other times this year. Shouldn't be surprising. Even to a team as bad as the Wizards. You're right, it's impossible to tell what was going through their minds. Still, in my opinion, there is something wrong in my mind with either coaching, or the players when they couldn't put forth a more spirited effort (they looked absolutely disinterested in taking the ball to the basket in the first quarter) when the organization had just gone through such an emotionally devastating day. Now, does losing two franchise icons necessarily equate to playing better? No. I wouldn't put that argument forward, but it just seems like most teams seem to get a boost from an event like this. Teams seem to "rally around" each other and try and win one for the Gipper. Its a subjective thing, but I just expected (and in my opinion rightfully so) that the team would have really wanted to play their best in memory of Red and NVL. However, You sir are a formidable opponent!
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) I don't think it had anything to do with if they got up for the game or not. They're just not very good and got waxed. Although I will continue to watch the games and obviously support the team, I have long concluded that this season will be about the development of Rose and identifying which players currently on the roster are the best fit with Rose. Making the playoffs would mean nothing at this point. If they lost by a bucket to the Cavs, Celtics, or Lakers I'd agree with you. They lost by 23 to a team that was tied for the fewest wins in the league. I can't write that off to not being good, this team isn't THAT bad. The first quarter the fell behind, settled for jump shots, didn't play help defense, and turned the ball over way too much. On a night like tonight, it just shouldn't happen - they embarrassed themselves.
  9. QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 11:25 PM) just a f***in terrible loss....this team is so bad defensively its not even funny If a team cannot get up for a game like this one (Red, NVL, and Obama in the stands), honestly something seems out of whack. Vinny Del Negro should not be the coach when next season starts.
  10. I'm sorry, but Cristobal Huet is brutal... and was a terrible signing. Seriously, were stuck with him for the forseeable future.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizardsin...go_bulls_2.html Check out the photo caption. It hurts because its true.
  12. Were down four, but can't get defense stops when we need em. Enough bulls***, this team is too talented to lose to the Wizards at home or on the road. we need to channel a little Norm Van Lier and gut this baby out.
  13. Wizards have 7 OFF Rebs and shooting 47% thus far, and the Bulls are shooting 37% from the field... unacceptable against these scrubs.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 06:26 PM) That kid sitting on Obama's right probably has no clue he's sitting next to the president. i believe he is a midget secret service agent.
  15. Bulls about to tip off against the Wizards in DC. Obama sitting courtside for the first half. It's a road game that we absolutely win, this Wizards team is pretty miserable.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) The Bears Offensive needs IMO from now are: 1. A veteran WR. Spend what it takes to fill that spot. The team just isn't going to develop a WR from this draft or last draft fast enough to make a dent on their WR hole. 2. Additional O-Line help, specifically a Right Tackle. A high draft pick would work, as would a FA signing. 3. Backup RB and Backup QB. Between the 18th pick, their 2nd round pick, and the $31 mil or so in cap space they have with no one to extend, there's no reason not to fill those holes. There seems to be a number of quality veteran WR available on the market. If signed the WR would be virtually guaranteed to be the number 1 option... so Chicago could be an attractive spot for the right guy. (although i'm sure Orton, this line, and our history of offensive failures do not exactly stiffen the pecker) 2. If Andre Smith Alabama falls, I think the JA should actively pursue him and trade up if they can. I don't care about the combine or talking to an agent... the kid is a BEAST! IF other teams are shaky on him... he seems to be the kind of player that the Bears should take a chance on, because our current roster is remarkably mediocre.
  17. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 05:42 PM) how do you look up someone's twitter stuff - like shaq? http://twitter.com/THE_REAL_SHAQ
  18. QUOTE (Linnwood @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) Should one should get AJ to twitter... I bet it would be hilarious. Ozzie too... although I have a sneaking suspicion most of his tweets might be NSFW.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) I really think that there are going to be better, cheaper options out there who are at about the same level (I don't hold him any higher than Grossman right now). The NFL is the only league who hasn't really been hammered by the economy yet, but that's because FA hadn't started yet and ticket sales packages weren't going out yet. Now those things are happening. you make a good argument, and I had forgot about the knee surgery. I still think Kyle Orton is probably the best QB the Bears could start this upcoming years with the other options available. A guy like Chris Simms is intriguing, but if Angelo can find a couple of receivers and the offensive pans out and allows the QB time to throw the ball... this offense (in theory) should be better than last year. There are still too many IFS for my taste, but its not as bad as it could be.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) And once again, the Bears will have a chance to win the NFC North, simply because the rest of the division stinks... Rosenfels + Berrian = Montana + Rice = Manning + Harrison
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) Pretty good move by the Bears IMO. Addressing the RT position is definitely a step in the right direction... Omiyale probably picks the Bears because he will be able to start here. Hopefully Chris Williams and Omiyale will solidy those spots... if not the bears will be in trouble. I wonder if Jerry Angelo would consider trading for Derrek Anderson. It looks like the Browns are trying to get rid of some of their economic waste, and Anderson must be a costly back-up for them. Its unclear how good Anderson might be, but it wouldn't hurt to have another QB with experience in camp to challenge/push Orton.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) And let this be a lesson to those who continually bash Hawk for his long-winded/homerism. You NEVER EVER know what you have until it's gone. Very sad day indeed. Very true, well put.
  23. Devastating. I was actually holding out hope that Red would pull through, he seemed like such a great guy.
  24. through thick and thin junior... thick and thin RIP NVL
