Javy's playing with fire today, lets hope we can get a few more IP out of him and then hand it over to the pen.

Why do we need to move along? Its interesting to look back on this topic, especially after you add CQ to the equation. If you don't like the discussion, move along and don't bother posting.

It would have been nice, but I dont think any less of google for their lack of a memorial day logo. I celebrate memorial day, as I hope all other Americans wishing to honor our servicemen would. If google wants to leave their logo solemn for memorial day, oh well. I'm still going to raise the flag, and try to appreciate the men and women, far greater than I, who sacrificed their lives so that I could enjoy the day off.

Dave Kaplan is the Ryan Seacrest of Chicago Sports.... I could live without both.

QUOTE (soxfandude @ May 20, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) 4 ER isnt bad if the offense can just pick it up Well I think he's been consistently good this year... but he was consistently bad for almost an entire season over the last part of 06 and the vast-majority of 07. Conversely, he was scary good in the last half of 05 and the first half of 06. Perhaps I should have been more specific, perhaps. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 20, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) Then he'd say, "I wish I could play defense and had a work ethic like him, or even shared his passion." I think Tyrus has the passion, but he just appears to be immature which misguides that energy. Skiles wasn't the type of coach who was going to baby Tyrus and when he pouted, things got worse.

Jose is absolutely filthy right now.... i cant think of a more Jekkel/Hyde pitcher. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) It certainly doesn't seem like the bridges have been burned with him...I just think he's the obvious odd man out. Rose should be a solid defender, but I think a Rose/Gordon backcourt is even worse defensively than a Hinrich/Gordon backcourt. Imagine the games against the 'Stons and Hamilton and Billups, or games against the Heat where Rose gets worn down guarding Wade. The Bulls have 3 shooting guards, 1 of them is hard to move because of a bad contract and a couple rough years (although his contract does come up in the LEbron/Wade/Melo year which means its an excellent trade asset next offseason), 1 of them is an excellent stand up defender who's offensive game is showing improvement and who is under the team's control a couple more years, and 1 is an excellent shooter who doesn't create his own shot much, is poor on defense, and is a RFA this offseason and needs to be signed or moved so we don't lose him for nothing. Honestly, if we could extend Gordon and find some way to move Hughes, I'd be happier about that because Thabo + Gordon is probably a better backcourt than Thabo + Hughes. But because we'd have to take another contract back to move Hughes, and on top of that sign Gordon and Deng, it looks like Gordon just has to be the odd man out. I'm in complete agreement with you. The number 1 pick means much more to the Bulls than just Beasley or Rose, they have opened up a bunch of different options to make their team better, and quick.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) I think Gordon could be deadly effective playing in the right situation. Just not in a half court, defense first, slowed down offense with no key post player and no #1 option, like he's been in the last few years. Hell, if D'Antoni and Rose had both come to the Bulls, he might well have been dynamite. Because his liabilities on defense might have just been hidden. There are obvious holes in Ben's game, but the fact remains that he can shoot the lights out, get hotter than hell, and carry a team offensively when he does. I'm not sure what Pax wants to do, and maybe bridges with Ben have been burned, but the guy is still young and valuable.

somewhere, Johhny Red Kerr is excited and clunking a coughdrop in his mouth loudly for all to hear.
-
What number will Rose wear? He can't wear 23, and I hope we doesn't wear number 5... we had a Rose wear 5 and that wasn't so fun.
-
DERRICK ROSE? WHERE WOULD HE PLAY?
-
I heard if we sign Dean Smith to coach the team, Michael might come out of retirement, again.
-
Wait, who's the safe pick? Can we trade down and get him? Will it save us money?

Carlos Quentin = Jose Canseco sans steroids.... well they kinda look similar. Lets hope that Carlos pulls down tail like Jose did (google Jessica Canseco, probably NSFW).
-
imagine if we traded Crede for Cain? Floyd or Danks would be at AAA, Cain would have an ERA of about 10.00, and CQ would have neck strain from watching the ball bounce off the left field bleachers.
-
If we can just stabilize our line-up, we will contend and just might win this division.

According to the Booya Network.... Wow, this kid is one of the purest young power hitters in the game... and to lock him at at that price tag? I think the reward FAR outweighs the risk on the Brewers side. Thats a great sign for them....
