  1. It's on the McCaskey's. Pace and Nagy are nearing the ends of their deals, they need to "win now", they're not interested in blowing it up and getting a 2-3 year rebuild going. I just hope Pace doesn't do a ton of damage on his way out.
  2. I hate a lame duck GM being in charge at this point. I just have a bad feeling whatever he does will cripple the Bears horribly moving forward. Pace has earned no "benefit of the doubt" from me.
  3. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/14/taysom-hill-creates-7-75-million-in-cap-space-with-restructuring/ It's all fully voidable. There's talk they'll still bring Jameis back.
  4. My companies HQ just moved to Westlake, awaiting what they are going to do, but my best bet is they'll use large offices in other states to say they'll just follow an enterprise wide back to the office plan.
  5. I wonder if the sports leagues will pressure the teams to keep attendance limited. I figured they would be first to go 100% but realistically thought mid-April or May. (by realistically doesn't mean I think that is when things should be 100% anywhere, I just thought that was when the first state would go 100%)
  6. This is as low as I can remember the COVID ICU bed count, hoping this trend continues
  7. I'm 42 and healthy (also had a very mild case of COVID in November) and I would absolutely have no issue taking J&J and allowing higher risk to get one of the others. Hopefully we reach the point soon where that is an option.
  8. I have a black hoodie with a WS patch... love it and it's held up.
  9. Wow, if they get Wentz for a haul and he doesn't work out, between the 4 years they completely wasted by drafting Mitch and the damage done from a bad trade, Pace could be one of the worst GMs of all time. I'll wait to see what it costs, but if it's a lot, this is an absolutely brutal move and why you don't let lame duck coaches and GMs stick around, they don't care about anything but next year and it's not like the Bears are a good QB away from the Super Bowl.
  10. The Sox, or any team, doesn't have the only say in who they sign. A veteran player may look at the roster and not see playing time or playing time that they don't think will maximize their ability to get a solid next contract. It's not like if Madrigal struggles early on they're going to sit him for a replacement level player. They spent good money this offseason and were in on Wheeler, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
  11. That's my plan as well. Just googled and nothing about delay as of yet, but we'll see. I'm taking tomorrow off if they don't cancel it today and if it doesn't get in, then oh well, I'll just have a fun day with my friends and not come back Friday.
  12. Yeah, I'm in same boat, but just talked to my friend that I'm going with and we're just going to do Thursday, if it gets rained out we'll just enjoy the day.
  13. Yeah, there's always some. My friends and I often do it and we're certainly not the only ones.
  14. Right, or NOLA. Look, I'm pissed at the Sox right now as others are here because I know they could afford the Machado contract and they didn't step up, likely, because JR is old school and wouldn't sign the biggest FA contract in history, but this comes down to money for MLB. As noted above, Sox as a distant 2nd team in this market still is valuable and has a potential to be more lucrative than other markets.
  15. Right, and MLB would push for expansion, not a move. It's a several hundred million dollar difference in revenue to MLB.
  16. I'm not saying there's a zero possibility, but a city wanting a team and being able to bamboozle its citizens into paying for a stadium isn't as easy as it once was. I'm sure MLB would love all those cities to be ready to take a team tomorrow, but realistically that is not going to happen.
  17. MLB is looking at expanding, due to the ridiculous expansion fees they can get, they'll discourage teams moving as to not burn a potential expansion market. White Sox are in a major media market and have had decent payrolls in the past and will do well business-wise if they win. I don't see MLB or MLBA wanting them to move.
  18. It's a better offer in Sox front office twisted mind. Seems like a guaranteed 300m vs guaranteed 250m.
  19. I'm assuming it "would not be about 1 guy" and Shae had a typo? I can't believe Hahn would come out and say the entire rebuild hinged on Machado, but don't rule anything out at this point.
  20. The most aggravating part of the Hahn press conference will be when he will talk about how he knows how frustrated the fans are but give them time, blah blah...
  21. That will likely be Hahn's spin at the 1pm. They don't want to be "hamstrung" by a big contract and he'll likely point to Cubs comments yesterday that they're "out of money".
  22. I bet Hahn has the balls to mention the Cubs (was it Epstein?) yesterday about how they're out of money. He'll say something like "well, these big deals don't always work out and hurt your flexibility down the road".
  23. They can, they choose not to, big difference.
  24. I've walked there after shows at Allstate to get a Lyft/Uber. It's better figuring out the cluster of the shared ride pickup at Allstate and you can have a few drinks while waiting.
  25. Yeah, check bank every day, helped me on a few times, especially when there was unauthorized $500 from Venmo, BMO gave me zero issues in resolving it right away.
