White Sox vs. Twins, 5/9/07 (W)
QUOTE(fathom @ May 9, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um, why isn't Ozuna bunting there? It's the one thing he's good for. Just so you know, Jason Marquis has a perfect game thru 5 innings. I repeat, he has a perfect game thru 5. against the pirates after a 15 inning marathon

Illinois Smoking Ban Passes House
How come insurance companies don't offer different rates for those who wear their seatbelt or helmet and those who don't? Health insurance companies do it with non-smokers and smokers.

Aardsma stop doing that
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 9, 2007 -> 03:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seriously? That's you're guess? Come on now. David can keep doing what he wants. She agrees VVV

Student creates Counter-Strike map of school and gets kicked out of sc
Give me a break. I used to imagine what it would be like to play a Goldeneye deathmatch with the map being of my school. Last time I checked, I'm OK and haven't shot anybody up yet.

Illinois Smoking Ban Passes House
QUOTE(Texsox @ May 9, 2007 -> 06:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aren't they all about the government knowing what is best for you and taking away your liberty? After all. no one is forcing you to work or play in an unsafe place at an unsafe job? For a human to survive in this country he/she needs to 1. Drink water (EPA) 2. Eat (FDA for packaged food and health departments for served food) 3. Work (OSHA and health department) People don't have to drive a car, and why should they wear their safety belts if they aren't concerned about their own health. That's their choice and they are not affecting anyone else on the road by not wearing their seatbelts. When people are purchasing products I would assume almost 100% of them are expecting the product to work properly and safely. If people wanted to buy a product that wasn't safe and they knew it wasn't safe, let them buy it. (see gun owners and drug abusers)

Illinois Smoking Ban Passes House
QUOTE(Texsox @ May 8, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seatbelts, minimum safety standards, restaurant health inspections, product safety laws, OSHA, it's your health and liberty. That is the only even closely related to the second hand smoke and trans fats debates.

QUOTE(chisoxt @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, I was thinking the same thing.... Kenny has never been good at fleecing other teams for prospects. Usually, he's the one in the giving mood. ...a by product of being a good team. I'll gladly accept that.

Thats a dont walk him loser
I am praying that someone asks Ozzie why he didn't walk Morneau to get to Cirillo for the more ideal Righty vs. Righty match up. The terrible managing in this loss bothers me a lot more than Iguchi's performance and the bullpen tonight.

Illinois Smoking Ban Passes House
QUOTE(Texsox @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let's say for the sake of discussion that second hand smoke is a problem. By eliminating it as much as possible we have a benefit to the health of everyone, cleared the air, stopped people from going home smelling like and ashtray. Now let's say it isn't a health risk and we ban it in public places. We've helped the health of smokers, cleared the air, stopped people from going home smelling like an ashtray. If we don't ban it and it's harmful, we continue to harm our health. You must also be in favor of New York banning trans fats as well. It's your health and your liberty, but who cares about freedom? The Government always knows what's best for us

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/8/07 (L)
QUOTE(Brian @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No base open, but I see your point. Oh well. MacDougal crapped the bed. If our bullpen is as good as people say/think, we don't blow a 3 run lead in the 8th. Third base was open.

Cirillo, a guy who can't hit RHP, was on deck. Either pitch to him, or his bench replacement. NOT MORNEAU. God, that really makes no sense at all.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why do you bring a pitcher in to start off with a IBB? Didn't Bevington bring in Foulke to walk a guy and then pull him right after?

QUOTE(fathom @ May 8, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> MacDougal's career ERA vs the Twins now is over 5.50. Does that really mean that much after surgeries, a new pitching coach, a new manager, and a new role?
