  1. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 14, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> remember when I kept getting laughed at when I was calling Placido Polanco the solution to our problems at 2B back in '04. Oh how times change. So you still think a guy who doesn't walk, doesn't hit for power, doesn't strikeout, and ends up with a sub .700 OPS is worth $6 million a year? If that's the case, we should pick up Erstad's option right now and move him to second. Of course nothing significant has happened to the Sox since 2004 either.
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 14, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> has Val Venis ever had a "hey day" in WWE, or has he always been a jobber? He needs to lose a "reverse hair match" (loser grows his hair out,) and ditch the wristbands. Give him a hot babe diva as a valet, and put him on the ECW brand.
  3. You can't look at Castillo's career numbers at this point. It's just like looking at Grinderstad's. He only stole 10 bases in 2005 (with 7 CS,) so he not quite a lock for 20 SB's. People said the same thing about Grinderstad. He's not a bad option for second base next year, but I'm not going to make him priority #1, throw the world at him, or give him a 3 year contract. Give gooch time.
  4. The problem with Castillo is that he is declining and he is a product of the Twins' home field. This year he has a .333 OBP on Grass, but last year it was .369. Of course even with that OBP his OPS was barely over .700. He'd be like like another Grinderstad who walks a little more.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 14, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> looks like they changed it with "this is an old thread" but something saying he's still on rehab would be great! Good to hear he's swinging well, any update on how he is throwing? I wish they did.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 14, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There and their, who gives a hoot. The HR people and anybody below you. You asked a question so it should end with a question mark as well.
  7. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 13, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well, if Sweeney is sent down, you have to point the finger at KW. Since he is the one making all those major decisions on who stays and ho gos... ...and when he gets buried by Guillen by sitting him on the bench, people are going to b**** about him not playing everyday and how it would be better to send him down. It'll be just like Brian Anderson.
  8. If history is any indication, the Sox will win the first two, and the Cubs will win the last game in a shootout. Soxtalk will continue to b****.
  9. Jo Blows strikes for the Indians. 7-7
  10. IF YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROTATION ORDER THE CUBS WILL BE THROWING LILLY, MARQUIS AND ZAMBRANO IN THAT ORDER
  11. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 13, 2007 -> 05:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He'll probably be back in time for th Cubs series... which will be good since we will be facing Hill and Lilly. It looks like Lilly, Marquis and Zambrano.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ May 13, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BTW, Iguchi only has 3 swings this year that has resulted in an RBI. Looking at their numbers, Borchard's had a better season so far. Borchard is batting .198 and strikes out once every 2.88 at-bats. His SLG% is comparable to Iguchi's. Nobody is getting on base for Iguchi either.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ May 13, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Iguchi = worst player in baseball this year. Come on. Ronny Cedeno, Inge, Brochard, Cano, I-Roid, Pena jr., Edmonds, Eckstein, and Jason Kendall just to name a few all disagree.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ May 13, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Am I being overly negative when I say the Royals have just as much talent in their lineup as the Sox do? I'm so disappointed in KW for not doing more to help this offense. Yes you are. The Royals suck and the Sox are hurting.
  15. I remember Mark doing that to Vazquez last year too.
  16. Has Hawk blamed the umpire yet? Singleton thought Pena Jr. was out at first.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 13, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tadahito may well be pricing himself right back into something the White Sox could afford. are willing to spend. Fixed
  18. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 13, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This the hot streak Juan has only seen in his dreams. He is not prepared to run the bases this much. Were you really expecting anything better? Crede walked with the bases loaded.
  19. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 13, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Allowing the pitchers to hit next weekend may improve the offense. Too bad the Cubs are throwing 2 lefties at us. I thought it's Lilly, Marquis and fatass Zambrano.
  20. Has there ever been a team built on defense only? I'd like to see their team hitting stats.
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 7, 2007 -> 05:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But the Rangers are hitting .241 as a team. If you were a Ranger fan, you would be calling for his head. Still waiting for a response on this one. SSI71, how come Texas' coach is getting praise when he team is having bad results just like the Sox? Is it because of Sosa's turn around?
  22. Not to be a complete dick, but why didn't you just post this in the post game thread instead of making a separate thread?
  23. Mets optioned RHP Mike Pelfrey to Triple-A Norfolk. The Mets could recall Pelfrey next week and put him right back into the rotation, but it makes more sense to go with Jorge Sosa right now. A couple of months in Triple-A would do Pelfrey a lot of good.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ May 13, 2007 -> 12:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gustavo with another chance to get his first hit....and it might be his last chance. My predicted lineup is: Ozuna, Uribe, Dye, Konerko, Crede, Iguchi, Terrero, Gonzalez, Molina Would you accept a .000 batting average if it came with a quality start from the pitcher? That would be kinda funny if Molina went the entire season without a hit.
