It's also not a fair comparison, because, as a whole, the NL sucks. The AL has much more talent and better teams. IMO...the Yankees, Redsox, A's, Angels, are better than ANY NL team, and the Whitesox, Twins, and Rangers are not far behind them! BTW...if everyone was healthy, and you were making a starting rotation out of the Cubs and Sox staffs, Buehrle would have to be #1.

Maybe...for now I will stick with watching the 4 "major sports" plus boxing. No NASCAR, no golf (playing not watching), no tennis, etc.

Here is the bottom line, IMO... As rich and powerful as Osama Bin Laden may be, 9/11 could not have been accomplished without "state sponsorship". Since almost all of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis, if you put 2 and 2 together, wouldn't Saudi Arabia come up as the most likely sponsor?

Let's take Warren Sapp vs Jeff Gordon for example, and have them compete in a "decathlon" of athletic events against each other (their own sports NOT included). IMHO...Sapp would destroy Gordon.

IMO...it takes a lot more athletic ability (and genetics) to be able to throw a 90+ fastball than it does to drive a NASCAR.

"Overweight" guys like Oliver Miller (NBA) and/or Warren Sapp (NFL) can "run circles" around NASCAR drivers. Football and Basketball are not baseball!

I don't follow NASCAR...I wouldn't know Jimmy Spencer if he fell on me! The only Jim Spencer I know played 1st base for the Whitesox in the 70s-80s.

I have never driven in NASCAR, nor have I ridden (rode?) a Harley. I am not arguing here for the sake of arguing, I am trying to get educated on the topic of discussion. Let's not get squirelly here!

Remember, this thread started as a discussion about NASCAR vs cycling...I don't think there are ANY 300 pound riders in the Tour de France.

Let's say, for example, you are a motorcycle enthusiast. You ride from Chicago to Daytona Beach on your Harley, to attend bike week. The ride is anywhere from 1000-1200 miles. Are you an athlete because you can keep your bike on the road for 20-24 hours, while wearing your leathers and a helmet, in varying weather conditions? Nope.

What kind of shape do you need to be in? Don't equate endurance with athletic ability!!!
