I agree that Nomar is having a down year, but, c'mon...Nomar is an all-star shortstop. There isn't one facet of Valentin's game that is better than Nomar's. Nomar would be a substantial upgrade at SS, not an A-Rod type upgrade, but an upgrade nonetheless!

That's what kills the Sox so many times. We are ALWAYS going for the homerun, even when the situation doesn't call for "swinging for the fences". Whatever happenned to Ozzie's "smallball" philosophy?

I am pissed! Pissed at Ozzie for not starting Frank at 1st in the 3rd game. We are not hitting, we surely could have used his bat in the lineup. Pissed at Crede for sucking! Pissed at Marte for choking!

And the Sox got swept by an inferior cubs team, the Yankees got beat by an inferior Mets team, and in last year's series the Yanks got beat buy an inferior Marlins team. That's the point, the best team doesn't always win. BTW...the "mighty" cubs just got shut out by the Brewers! :fthecubs

I heard Bruce Levine say that more Sox didn't make it cuz Joe Torre "has it in for the Sox". Do you think that has to do with us beating out the Yankees for Garcia?

Keep in mind, if the Sox falter in the 2nd half, we can always trade Freddy to NYY for their catching prospect (Dioner?) and Jose Contreras (who is already locked into a contract).

Dude...I said it last week, and I will say it again...the NATIONAL LEAGUE SUCKS! There are at least 4 American League teams that are better than ANY NL team, (NY, BOS, ANA, OAK) and at least that many that are as good as ANY NL team (CHI, TEX, MIN, BAL). Being the best in the NL is like being the "tallest midget"...it means nothing!

I am sooo sick of "Mr. Potential" (Joe Crede) already. The dude hasn't gotten any better offensively in 3 years. Hurry up, Josh Fields, PLEASE!!!

I have been saying that Dusty sucks for months; a lot of the "cub lovers" (like Brandofan) defend him to the end. I believe that Baker was the prime reason that the cubs didn't make the Series last year. I love that the cubs have him as their manager, and I hope they never can him...they will never succeed as long as he is there!

It's a famous line from "Animal House". The point is, chill! The Sox play down to the level of inferior teams, i.e. the Expos, the Cubs, the Tigers (last year) etc.

We just got finished winning 5 games in a row...our bats have gone into a funk against an (obviously) inferior (Cubs) team. Don't panic...we have too good of an offense to continue to slump like we are!
