The Sox are gonna have money to spend...the Comcast contract, increased attendance/revenues, etc. Ownership has to decide whether or not the Sox are going to be serious WS contenders, or just a "cash-cow". If Reinsdorf et.al. is serious about trying to win a WS, it's "put up or shut up" time. There are going to be some quality free agents available who can put this team into SERIOUS contention, but, it will probably mean that the payroll will have to approach, if not surpass, the $100 million mark. We can't keep playing the "small market team in a big market" game...it's time to step up.

I'd keep Jose, our bench is weak. He'd be a great guy to come off the bench. I'd love to get someone like Renteria (Nomar?) as our starting SS, Jose backing him up. BTW...I just read this morning that Mike Lowell (3B) will probably be available as a FA after this season...put him on the Wish List.

Consider the source(es) Nuke...the BBC is very pro-Arab and pro-Palestinian (as is the individual who brought this thread to our attention!). They would never air anything on the BBC that is not sympathetic to the Muslim cause. I would suggest you check out WWW.HONESTREPORTING.COM and look at the history of biased reporting by the BBC.

Not to defend anyone, but, at least this Pentagon official was allegedly giving military secrets to an Ally of the US, not a country who's interests are hostile to those of the US. One more thing, the Constitution says "innocent until proven guilty"; don't be so quick to be judge, jury and executioner. I agree. And I do have several Arab and/or Muslim friends, whose lives I would fight for, if need be. I am not an unreasonable, hate-filled monster; I'm actually more of a pacifist than anything else. But, as the son (and nephew) of a Holocaust survivor(s), I know what happens (happenned) when anti-semitism goes unchecked!
