As someone who works for DHS (formerly INS), I have to say that DHS is a joke. I feel it is a knee-jerk reaction to an unfortunately unpreventable situation (9/11). Kind of like locking the barn door after all of the animals have left. It reflects the republican ideal of "smaller government", but meging us with Customs has done nothing to strengthn us; if anything, it has weakened our morale, and left us with an "us vs them" mentality, rather than the "1 team, 1 fight" mantra we keep hearing. The only way we could have prevented 9/11 (and I am in no way advocating this!) was to not allow ANY foreigners into the US. None. Foe example, no we have a sysytem in place wherein we fingerprint/photgraph all Visa holders. However, Zacarias Massoui (sp?) had a French passport, thus, he wouldn't have needed a Visa to enter the US, and would have never been regisitered. The same for the guy who had the explosives in his shoes. As for those who do register, there is no follow-up in place, nor is there one planned. So if a registrant tells me he's here for business for 2 weeks, and he's staying at the Palme rHouse, nobody follows up to see if he's checked in/out.

I would suggest that he do his "research" from more balanced sources (i.e NOT from Palestinian press, as his "charts" came from). At least, Apu does research, not like a lot of you who like to spout off without knowing anything about what they're saying. I never said I know everything, far from it...but there are a lot of "know-it-alls" here, like SouthSide, Zach, Kapkomet, TexSox, etc., who can berate me and my postings, but cannot (have not) back(ed) up anything they've said.

I was talking about private clubs. I am not paying for the fence, although I do donate a lot of money to Israel. The fence is a necessity though! I don't follow the teachings of Jesus, because the fundamantal tenet of Judaism is that there is ONE G-D, and that only HE is to be worshipped, (not G-d AND the "son of G-d"). I don't know how many non-Jews there are in the Israeli government...I'll try to find out. But, I can guarantee you this, there are a hell of a lot more non-Jews in Israel's government than there are Jews in all of the Arab countrys' governments combined!!!

I don't live my life strictly by the Scriptures, as I'm sure you don't. I choose to be more pragmatic, and live by the realities of the world in which we CURRENTLY live. I know that you want the Israelis to "turn the other cheek" when faced with Arab aggression...this would only result in Israel's demise (an occurance that I'm sure you wouldn't mind!) (If you encountered a schoolyard bully, and he kept kicking your ass everyday. If you never defended yourself, he'd never stop kicking your ass, until there was none left to kick...OR you could defend yourself, put the bully down, and never have to face the threat again. Israel isn't living in a "very large prison" by choice; if the "palis" and other Arab countries would just respect Israel's right to exist in peace, there would be no Security Fence. (Sorry that I lumped you in with the others...my bad.)

Did you read my posting about the fences? All fact. Did you read my MLK quote? Did you read Brando Fan's posting re. the BBC? All fact. Everything you, and SouthSide, and Apu, et. al. have posted are opinions, and uneducated ones at that. If you want to be ant-Semitic, anti-Jew, anti-Israel, go for it, thats your choice. I can't/won't tell you what/how to believe. But, I am offended when you try to "spread your hatred and racism" to others, especially when it is misdirected, and based on ignorance of the topic you're trying to discuss.

The point is, the ONLY reason for any fence/barrier between the US and Mexico is to keep illegal workers out of the US. Nobody complains about that, even though there is no threat by Mexico. In Israel, there is a constant threat of terrorist attacks by "palis" daily. The fence is being built to curtail that threat, but people like you begrudge the Israelis their safety, and condemn the fence as being illegal. What about the fences of the other countries I mentioned? They don't seem to bother you that much.

Let's look at the "Fence Issue" once again, in a comparison context. There is a 20 meter high concrete wall surrounding the Vatican City in Rome, (it was built with the sole purpose of keeping the Italians out.). There is a fence between Botswana and Zimbabwe, built to keep the people of Zimbabwe from entering Botswana, and bettering their dire economic conditions. There IS a fence between Mexico and the US, built to keep illegal workers out of the US (it is 14 miles long at San Ysidro) in Texas, there is a natural barrier (Rio Grande). There is a fence separating North and South Korea. There is a British forced fence separating Northern Ireland, to facilitate Catholics and Protestants coexisting. There is a fence built by the Dutch at Hoek van Holland, so they can keep "undesirables" out. There is a fence between India and Pakistan. There is a fence in Spain, guarded by armed troops, in Ceuta, on the Moroccan border, built to keep illegal workers out of Spain. Interstingly enough, ALL of these countries have complained about and condemned the Security Fence in Israel as being unlawful and racist. Double standard???
