It seems like a lot of people are bringing up the 500 homer platuea. Fred McGriff is 9 home runs away from 500. Does that mean he deserves the HOF? IMO I don't think he deserves it, just because he swings for the fences all the time, but he did win in Atlanta, which would give him an edge over Frank in that category.

In over 220 combined seasons, the Chicago baseball teams have won 2 world championships. Jerry Krause brought SIX! I don't care what he does with the team afterwards, because we are used to teams sucking in Chicago. If Chandler wasn't always getting hurt, he could be as good as Brand. If Eddy weren't so lazy, he could be the best center in the east. Jamal Crawford just needed a good coach to teach him, so the draft picks aren't terrible. I don't know why people like you can hate a guy for winning SIX WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Frank Thomas is my favorite player and I think he should be a first ballot HOFer, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves. He hit 42 home runs last year. That's a lot and of course you didn't hear anything about him as a key FA. I'm so sick of people ripping on Frank, especially Ozzie Guillen. Oz needs to not hold grudges from when they played together. He has been loyal to this organization from the start, which is very rare these days, and nobody appreciates him.

On SC they did a list of the top ten current players on the bubble for making the HOF. Frank Thomas was listed at 4, by Peter Gammons. He is 81 homers away from 500 and within 200 RBI of George Brett. He also has a .310 career average. Personally, I think he deserves to go, but the bar has been raised to get into the hall in the past decade or so. Having a bad image in the press isn't helping him out too much either. You can vote on this topic on espn.com. He needs help because Mariano Rivera is the leader right now in the polls.
