  1. I hope he finally admits and will be inducted this year because I am going to the induction ceremony. Anybody know what former Sox, besides Tommy John are up for induction?
  2. I agree with you about that, and give him loads of credit. But, the Home Run Derby was before that happened and, as the greatest hitter in the game and probably of his generation, I feel it is his duty to participate. There would have been so much more excitment if he was in it over somebody like Brett Boone who hit zero home runs and whiffed once. The people that went and payed BIG bucks to attend deserve to see the best players participate.
  3. That's not what you want your "big" accusition to be. Solid D though and thats what we need because we have plenty of offense as long as Konerko and Maggs don't get traded.
  4. Jose at third is farther for him to throw the ball and I don't think Olerud is tall enough to snag his god awful throws.
  5. I'm not sure if they still have his rights because I'm pretty sure he was signed by the Chicago Rush of the AFL.
  6. And I have the honor of living 15 minutes from there. Scary place at night because I just drove through there about 20 minutes ago on my way home from Chicago.
  7. The more the merrier. Anyways, I'm a freshman in High School and my name is Will.
  8. Real tree and like 16 feet tall. It's a b**** bringing it in and taking it out. Last year we had to saw it in half in order to get it out.
  9. It would have been nice to see that at the home run derby, but he selfishly turned down the oppertunity to participate. Bonds should be an ambassador for baseball, but he just wants to be left alone and b**** all the time.
  10. Is that just Thursday nights during adult swim, or is it every night?
  11. The more I hear about Australia, the more I like it. 7 straight episodes would be sweet.
  12. When did that happen? I must have missed that or just forgot. There are so many great DT moments like that.
  13. I'm actually in a fantasy hockey league with my friends and I'm dominating, but I can't name one player on my team because the commish of my league banned me from everything and I'm stuck with the players I drafted. Anyways, fantasy baseball on soxtalk would be great and I'm in for sure. Thanks for the quick responses.
  14. It's weird that you said that because the only ND game I went to had the filming of "Rudy" during halftime, although, unfortunately, I don't remember it because I was very young. Great movie with great actors.
  15. Well when I went to the ND game I was like 5 so that doesn't really count. And the Valpo games draw about 100 people, so theres no buzz there. And the MSU game I went to this year I had to sit in the student section, and well they were playing Rutgers so there wasn't much buzz. Half the students left at half time, passing out from Friday nights parties and the tailgating. I would love to go to a rivalry game or something like that where theres more passion. The reason I like NFL games more is because the past three years I've went, the Bears have won on the last play of regulation or overtime. In '01 we were at the game versus the Browns where the James Allen hailmary happened (right in our corner and we were in the second row so the play happened about 15 feet from us) and of course the Mike Brown interception return, also right in front of us. Last year I went to the game where Marty Morningweigh (sp?) chose the wind over that ball in OT and Edinger hit the game winning fg. This year, we went to the game vs. the Redskins and Edinger hit the game winner with 5 seconds left. If you were in my situation of games attented, I think you'd rather go to pro games too. I understand why college football is so cherished too, but I just haven't experienced it yet.
  16. How was that this year? I know last year was AWESOME. I thought there was rain or something like that this year. Rain or no rain, it is an amazing event. Our movie in 2002 was "The Natural" and I played catch in the outfield until 2 or 3 and then woke up at 5:30. Too bad your group didn't get to see two ballgames. They said our air matresses damaged the field the previous year, but it wasn't that noticeable. The Saturday game in 2002 was a 2-1 Montreal win (Faulk gave up a solo shot to Vlad in the top of the ninth with two outs) and the Sunday game was a 10 to something blowout. It was an terrific weekend of White Sox baseball. I even got on TWIB. And the sox started a trend because I know the Giants and Royals at least had overnighters too last year.
  17. Is there a league for fantasy baseball here on soxtalk when spring rolls around? If so, I'd like some info.
  18. I'm from Indiana, but I rarely watch the IU games. It's not the prettiest game to see. As for college football, I'd rather just go to a Bears game. I've only been to like one ND game, one MSU, and one Valpo. I know when I'm in college, I'll enjoy it a little more.
  19. I wasn't rooting "against" Michigan, I just don't like them all that much. I guess you are a big U of M fan so I'm sorry that they lost. I don't really have a favorite college team, so I just usually pick a team that I feel deserves it more. USC should have been in the Sugar Bowl, and they needed to further prove to be the #1 team. As for you greasy.......I'm sorry that you're an IU football fan.
  20. Exactly. That is the same thing I have been thinking all along.
  21. 28-14 now with just under 9 minutes left. Looks like Michigan will have to do something special to pull it off.
  22. Our pitching will do enough to get it done, and the offense should produce more than just home runs (i.e situational hitting) now that Ozzie Guillen is here.
  23. I'm a MSU fan so I would love to see USC take it out on Michigan. Michigan just scored a td so now its 21-7 in the third.
  24. Maybe Ben just needed to get out of Tampa Bay, but moving to Milwaukee isn't a good way to escape losing. 700k would be a good deal if he can finally perform to his full potential.
