  1. I'm not gonna argue that it's going to be a September to remember..
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) how much ice cream can you really pig out on? I hate when people I know get brand new cars. Example, one of my friends got a 2005 Mustang last year for his 16th. :headshake
  3. QUOTE(Yoda @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) I have Verizon and the coverage around here is very good. Judging by the coverage map that I have here with me, there is absolutely no coverage for Verizon users in the west part of Texas. If I were you I much rather get T-Mobile. They have a great family plan. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) Verizon rocks, although its a little more expensive than cingular/tmobile/att/etc I'm really happy with it though. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Verizon is very good, that's what I have now because I have a national package now. When I was in chicago I had U.S. Cellular which was absolutely amazing service wise, unfortunately they don't cover carbondale. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) We are ditching Cingular when our contract is up in November. They sucked worse than anything I have ever seen, and they customer service was worse. We are either going to get VZ or go back to NXTL Verizon sucks for me. I have Cingular, but my girfriend and other friends have verizon and the reception is terrible and the calls are dropped all the time. Cingular isn't much better though..
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) That's all you man lol. I worked at this little place called "Harmony's Hamburgers" and the owner was this wittle owd lady and she was really cool. Free s*** everyday, a little above minimum wage, friends, and regular customers = good tips! Oh yeah I forgot to mention we have to pay 50% on our food, but f*** that I pig out all the time and tell them I didn't eat anything. Edit: thanks for the cookies, and now back to our regularly schedule thread..
  5. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Those do get really good gas mileage, like 30 mpg I think. Yeah I think you're right. Wino, don't you have an xB? I thought I remember you saying that you did.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) EH, WRONG! I knew it was Adam Sandler.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) I worked for a little fast-food restaurant near my block earlier this year and it was fun. I worked with all of my friends. Time of my life. I'll work at Burger King, right next to 2 of my friends who work at KFc and across from my fest friend who works at McDonalds. We meet up after work and chill. Good times... I work with all my friends at DQ, but it still sucks balls. I make all the food on the grill and its so f***ing greasy. Plus, the pay sucks because the boss is a cheap ass.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) You eat pieces of s*** for breakfast??? Anyone know the movie? BILLY MADISON! I think, it's an Adam Sandler movie. Also, that line is in Jesus Walks.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) As soon as I get a job, most likely soon and at Burger King, I will be paying for gas and insurance. Don't do it. Eating s*** for 5 hours > working at fast food
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) f*** no. Back in my day, there were no fat people. We had to walk everywhere. You walked 10 miles to school? 15 miles to work? I got a car for my 16th birthday only because my grandma got a new truck and gave me her old one. I have to pay all insurance and all gas. My parents, although certainly able to afford a car for me, have not paid a dime towards anything for it.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) $75 a month! Holy hell that is cheap. Do you get full coverage or liability only? Liability only. But, since I got my ticket, it will probably go up as soon as that is put into the system, but sometimes you can get lucky and they never find out about it.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) If you don't mind me asking, how much do you pay for car insurance. I'm looking for some good insurance for my car right now. $75 per month, but my mom got me all of these discounts, including the good student discount. And what Tex said, that last part shouldn't be in green. My uncle has got to be absolutely raking, he owns oil fields in East Texas and far west Louisianna. I think he should ship some free gas up to us.

    $30 got me..

A half a tank of gas. Which will last me about 3 days because I have to drive to school and work and everywhere else. Plus, I'm far away from everywhere because I live in the boonies. $3.17 a gallon here as of now, I'm sure it will go up more. Did I mention I have to pay for car insurance too while working at f***ing fast food? Edit: I would like to add, even though it is busting my balls with the prices such high, we have it a million times better than the people being affected by the hurricane.
  14. I think Pods is overrated by many of us here, but not one of the most overrated in the game. Kerry Wood is definitely more overrated, not to mention overpaid.
  15. Boo! I hope you prove me wrong kid, but I'm all for Thomas Jones.
  16. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) so he's getting traded to the pirates? That's how I took his statement. Maybe the Pirates will trade him to us now!
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) adkins saved our bullpen innings today. that's why he's on this team. I sure hope he won't be eating up innings like he did today in the playoffs.
  18. Yeah, what happened? And why do you guys care?
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) :rolly Go look up some more stats and argue people about how much sports knowledge you have. Then look at some porno.
  20. QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) If you cant go out and have some beers with your buddies in high school because of sports than something is wrong. Sports are not the most imporant thing in the world. but the assholes who think they are ruin them for everyone else HE GONE!
  21. My girlfriend has become a Sox fan just for me. I bought her a Sox Pride wristband and she actually wears it a lot. And tonight, after we uh you know, she fell asleep with me and I casually reached for the remote and watched the Sox game.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) who is the guy who used to close for the Tigers? Kinda skinny, with lots of dark, curly hair hanging out of his cap. Matt Anderson?

    Back to school

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) You're not going to find many that teach Calculus or pre calc that aren't complete math nerds. They love what they do, that's why they're teaching math. The good thing is, if you pay attention and do the work you'll be pretty well set for the future when it comes to advanced mathematics. I took pre calc my junior year in high school, then took Calculus my senior year. Both years I had the same teacher, I hated it at the time but I really learned it. Now any math classes that I take are uber easy. That's exactly my situation. I'm going to take Calc next year as a senior, but I won't have the same teacher. All my math teachers in high school have sucked, luckily I can understand it and get pretty decent grades. It's just hard work. As much as I didn't like the teachers and the classes I have learned a lot. In the end, that's all that matters.
  24. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) got hit in the wrist catching a 80 MPH Fastball. hurt like hell. I got hit in the nuts when my pitcher OKed the fastball sign and decided to cross me up and throw a slider around 70 mph. I was down for a good amount of time in pain, thankfully I had a good cup on. Was it a foultip that hit you in the wrist or off of the bounce? Both have happened to me over the years and it always kills, especially when it hits the bone sticking out of the wrist.
