ok then, sorry, I just didn't see any complaining about it at the time.

2 games prior to be putting on the DL? In the article it says Maggs was there on the bench supporting his team, even though he knew he couldn't play.
-
Who is lumping Steff? Where did I lump everyone into a group? I'm sorry if I insuated anything.
-
In the article it says Maggs was. He did stay with the team. Maybe I am not understanding, and this is sarcasm.

Why was it ok for the Rauch thing to be taken public, but not ok to take the Frank thing public. I didn't here anyone complaining about it when it happened to Rauch. But now that it is Frank it just isn't right? I don't like that. I don't like double standards.
-
Frank vs Jose What do you guys think? I see no problem with this especially after what was said about Jon Rauch earlier in the season. Frank should have been there with the team. I don't see any reason why he wasn't.
-
WOOHOO!!! I know I shouldn't cheer injuries, but I can't stand that guy. Really, it couldn't happen to a better person. Then again this only gives them a reason to play a better player at first, Justin Morneau.

I agree with you. I think if I had to choose between any player the Sox can get right now it would be Kendall. I like that he is only 30 and will be under contract until 2007 as well. I also like that he is a contact hitter with a high on base percentage and would make the perfect #2 hitter in our lineup. What I don't like is that he is a singles/doubles hitter that is getting paid 8 mill this year, 10 million next year, 11 million in 2006, and 13 million in 2007. That is a lot of dough for a singles/doubles hitter. All that said, if we can find a way to afford him and justify his contract then I want him on this team.

Is a gold glove first baseman really a necessity? I mean come on now. Would you rather have a Doug Mankeuahfusiahgiahatz playing first base for your team or a Frank Thomas? Give me a Frank Thomas any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Randy Johnson narrows it to 5 teams
southsideirish replied to SoxFan562004's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Where do you people get this stuff from? Top tier players don't get traded for just money. If this is true then please someone give me an example. -
Check out this article by ESPN. They have a picture of some white dude with the name "Tillman" underneath it. It is at ESPN insider so you will need a ID and password. Check it out: Bears

Randy Johnson narrows it to 5 teams

Yeah, these three players are not the core of this team. I dont know what this guy is smoking. I think he just says things to say them and to get a rise out of people. -

I have a real hard time believe Kenny said that. -
Randy Johnson narrows it to 5 teams

Here is a link about Randy Johnsons from the NY Times. I don't know why Mike and Mike said that Johnson narrowed his list down. That is not true, although I heard them say the same exact thing. The truth is that the Diamondbacks have spoke to 4 teams about him. These four teams are the Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, and White Sox. Here is the article: Arizona Tests the Trade Waters By TYLER KEPNER Published: July 15, 2004 n an attempt to gauge the market for their franchise player, the Arizona Diamondbacks contacted several teams yesterday to discuss their interest in the ace left-hander Randy Johnson. According to an official of one of the teams, the Diamondbacks spoke with at least four teams: the Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, the Anaheim Angels and the Chicago White Sox. The Mets are also interested in Johnson and will almost certainly be included in discussions if trade talks become serious. Advertisement The Diamondbacks have not decided whether to deal Johnson, but he said on Monday that he would approve a trade to a contender. Arizona, which has the worst record in the major leagues, could view that as an opening to trade a player who is due $16 million next season. Johnson's agent, Barry Meister, said he had not been approached by the Diamondbacks to waive Johnson's full no-trade clause. Meister said Johnson should be involved in the trade process. "In my discussions with the Diamondbacks, I've explained to them that it would be a waste of everyone's time to contact clubs to find out about their interest in Randy Johnson without having an understanding from us about whether he would accept a trade and where he would accept a trade," Meister said. "I would be surprised if the Diamondbacks are doing that." Arizona General Manager Joe Garagiola Jr. did not return a phone call seeking comment. The pursuit of Johnson could become another arena for the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry. Both teams clearly want Johnson and could afford to pay him, especially with deferred money accounting for $6 million of his 2005 salary. But neither team is stocked with elite prospects, which explains why the Red Sox have spoken with the Chicago Cubs about trading shortstop Nomar Garciaparra for prospects who might satisfy Arizona's demands. Johnson's relationship with Boston pitcher Curt Schilling is unlikely to prevent him from accepting a trade there. Johnson has been reported to dislike Schilling, but the two spent time together at All-Star Game functions this week and live near each other in Arizona. Their wives and children are also friendly. Johnson, 40, has said his primary motivation is to win, and he and Schilling pitched the Diamondbacks to the World Series title in 2001. The Yankees have not begun seeking three-way trade possibilities because the Diamondbacks have not let teams know what they would want in return. But the Yankees' farm system is thin, and their major league roster is loaded with players who would be difficult to trade. The Yankees encountered this problem in trade talks last month for Carlos Beltran, who was then with the Kansas City Royals. The Royals scouted the Yankees' prospects but determined that they wanted an Oakland prospect, Mark Teahen. To get Teahen for the Royals, the Yankees would have had to send reliever Tom Gordon to the A's, an idea they quickly rejected, and Beltran wound up on the Houston Astros. Some in baseball believe the Mets could be a strong contender for Johnson because they could afford his salary and they have several attractive prospects, notably third baseman David Wright. But the Mets, who have said they want to keep their top prospects, believe they are long shots to land Johnson. The White Sox moved aggressively last month to outbid the Yankees for pitcher Freddy Garcia, who was then with Seattle. But the White Sox may have used their best trade chips when they dealt catcher Miguel Olivo and outfielder Jeremy Reed to the Mariners. The teams involved in the Johnson discussions fear the presence of the Angels, who are loaded with prospects. But the Angels' owner, Arte Moreno, told reporters on Tuesday that he would not order General Manager Bill Stoneman to get Johnson and that he would not sacrifice top prospects. -
Could very well be. I also doubt the Yanks could possibly have matched what we gave them even if they wanted to.
-
Really is that why Freddie Garcia is ptching for the Yankees right now?
-
Why not count out the Yanks? Who can they give the Diamondbacks? Just money alone will not get it done.
-
I highly doubt RJ goes to the Red Sox after reading how much he and Schilling don't get along. Scrubbies settle for Orlando Cabrera.
-
After reading about how RJ and Schilling don't get along I really doubt he is going to Boston. I really doubt Garciaparra is going to the Cubs. Who plays short for them once Garciaparra leaves? Pokey Reese? Or do they get Alex Gonzalez in return? More likely I think the Scrubbies get Orlando Cabrera.
-
Really? Please explain why the players mentioned in this thread are being compared to Prior, Mulder, Pedro, Gagne, Clemens, and Bonds. All the players mentioned in this thread have been said to be available. I have not heard the same about Prior, Mulder, Pedro, Gagne, Clemens, and Bonds. Are you ok?
-
This would be the perfect time to outbid teams for this kind of player. Not only is he great and we would have a great chance of winning the series with a pitching staff that includes Randy Johnson, but we would also stop the Scrubbies from getting Nomar. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Increase our chances and dull their chances. I WOULD LOVE IT!!!! DO IT KENNY! DO IT! Oh and if Brian Schneider is available then please get him as well. I don't care about CF I think Rowand is doing an excellent job there. Thank you Kenny!

I don't worry about Detroit at all. For one if they do as good as they have done in the first half then they will blow away the best ever one year turn around for a team. I don't see that happening. As good as they have played this year I think that that is as good as it gets for them. Next year I will worry about them.

was this intended to be in green?

You said Japanese tradition, not Japanese musical tradition.
-
You may have attempted to do that, but everything you said in that statement was false. You said how about forgetting about being "politically correct" lets just try to be "correct." It was correct to associate a gong with the Japanese. You said it wasn't. That is all I got out of your statements.
