To bad the both of you would be incorrect. The Gong was used by the Japanese Samuri. That is traditional enough for you? Are the Japanese Samuri not part of Japanese tradition or culture? Give me a break. I don't care what they use in their music. This has nothing to do with music. It has to do with tradition and culture and what we associate with that.
-
I would not go as far as to say it is not traditional. It is part of their culture so I can not see how it can not fit in with Shingo coming out. Even if it is not considered traditional, does it have to be? By the way it has a lot more to do with the Japanese culture and tradition than the "Fender Mustang."

I understand that it originated in China and can be traced to Vietnam, but are you telling me it is not used in Japan? The Japanese Samuri would have signalers, whose only duties were to send messages using GONGS and drums. Just because its origins can't be traced to the Japanese does not mean it is not a part of their culture. Spaghetti noodles were traced back to China, however they are a part of the Itlalian culture.

I remember when Big Mac was traded from Oakland to St Louis. No one thought that he would want to go to St. Louis because he wanted to remain on the west coast near his child. Not only did he go to St. Louis, but he signed to stay there. Just saying people can change their minds. I heard Randy Johnson say he would waive his no trade clause to go to a contender if it will help the Arizona Diamondbacks. At no time did he ever say he needed to be near his family and stay on the west coast. Speculation on everyone else's part makes it seem as though he wants to stay on the west coast. However, if the Sox made a better deal to Arizona and our deal made more sense then I believe he would be coming here. I know the money is on RJ to Anaheim. I would put my money on that as well. However it is not beyond the Sox and KW to give up what needs to be given up for RJ.

I hate your swedish fish. YOu ass!

That is exactly what I was trying to get at with my previous statements. You were more articulate than I. We are becoming a nation full of pussies.

All aussies are criminals. Everyone knows that Australia was just a prison island for the English. Historical facts. Sorry to offend you with that Aussie stereotype. Plus you guys all talk about your dingos which offends me.

Matt Roth used to wrestle as well, however they asked him to quit after his freshman year to concentrate on football. I believe he won the state title when he was a senior at WIllowbrook and I think he went undefeated that year as well. I bet he gets drafted in the first couple rounds next year. Hopefully by Da Bears! He would be a very nice addition at DE.

I agree baggio. That character is really good and in bits and pieces there is some funny stuff. As a whole the movies is just awful. Maybe the most stupid movie I have seen this year. I wouild rather have my girlfriend drag me to see the Notebook again than to ever see The Anchorman again. :puke

No, but I will try that. But this was a serious conversation, not joking around.

I think they would pay attention to a guy named O'Malley if he was doing the job Shingo has been. This is far from racism. Have you ever seen Dave Chapelle's show? He does many things on there that are funny about white/asian/blacks. It doesn't matter. When did this country become a bunch of pussies? When did we become so stiff that we have to watch every little thing we say. A day last week two women were talking in the hallway at the office. The one lady says that she was scared because she was driving past the projects late at night. And the other lady says "Oh yeah it is really dark over there." A black guy came out of the office and called the lady a racist for what she said. "DARK over there" That is f***ed up! This is what this country is becoming. Get your head out of your ass people.

You and I are thinking exactly alike on this. The Angels have money, players they can give from the minors, and major league players such as Washburn, Escobar, and Ortiz. I definately think he ends up with the Angels. If we get him then I will be more than pleasantly suprised.

It may be because a lot of our local talent are going to the Hawkeyes. They have done a lot of recruiting around these parts. #31 MATT ROTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. The character is very funny. I don't think it is something that should have been made into a whole movie though. I thought the movie was pretty stupid and actually had a lot of boring parts in the beginning. There were a lot of funny parts and lines, but not that good at all. Plus they left out my favorite part during the commercials. When he and Christina Applegate jump on the table and he yells out "LETS MAKE A BABY!" I found that hilarious and it wasn't even in the movie. Oh well.

Yeah me too. I have no idea what that show was talking about. Thanks for trying Spiff. I appreciate the effort.

Are you kidding me? So do Irish with the leprachaun s***. The Italians with the whole mob/mafia s***. The Germans with the Hitler crap. Give me a freaking break. Every ethnic group has something that is over exagerated.

If he and the erst of the japanesse nation don't give as*** then why would we make a big deal out of it? This whole statement reminds me of the people trying to get rid of Chief Illiniwek. It was hard to find one native american who had a problem with it, but since everyone else finds it to be politically incorrect then it should be banned. Give me a break!

I always loved the cardinals and their fans because we have a lot in common, OUR HATRED FOR THE CUBBIES!

Well I guess no one has heard a thing about it. Maybe it was something old that was brough back up for discussion on the radio show. I don't tknow what it was, just curious.
-
I just heard he made some stupid comments on Mexicans and speaking Spanish. Can anyone fill me in? I heard this on the radio but have no idea what specific comments he has made. Thank you!

I missed Borchard's ABs accept for the last one when he grounded out on the first pitch. I see that he took a walk today. From what I heard he was working the count and taking some pitches. What is everyone's thoughts on the way he looked today? Obvioulsy one game does not mean a lot. I just wanted to know about his approach and how he looked up there. Thanks in advance for your input.

It was a save situation and Shingo is the closer. I can understand doubting a decision that doesn't work, but Shingo came in and closed the door with 2 ks and a grounder to first. The decision looks good to me.

How did you come to that conclusion? I hardly doubt that your prediction comes true. Olivo was only a part time catcher anyway. I am happy with our catching situation. If Kendall comes a long then that would be great. Just icing on the cake. If not so be it. Like others have pointed out, a good hitting catcher is the least of our worries. How about another starter or bullpen guy. I would be more for either of those before a starting catcher. Randy Johnson or another lefty setup guy would be nice. I would take eitehr of those before looking for a starting catcher. Just my personal opinon.
