Agreed but for those of us outside Chicago its our only Chicago sportstalk station. I'd love to hear updates on what the Score guys are saying though as memory serves they're not much brighter than Moronotti.

The White Sox have solidified a bullpen that at times last year was just flat out awful. They are going to sign a 5th starter thanks to the trade everyone hates. We also have a leadoff hitter finally. Three major holes filled. How many holes have the Cubs filled? It would be nice if we were the Yankees and we could do these things just by singing free agents but we're not. God! It makes me crazy! We can't even get White Sox fans to understand these things. We are officially as sorry as Red Sox fans used to be.

The #2 guy should be a great situational hitter with excellent bat control. Uribe is a good offensive weapon and proved to be a fairly clutch hitter last year but I don't think his skills fit the #2 spot. Willie should be this guy but he's probably not ready. Until Willie's ready, I'd put Rowand here with Frank, Konerko, and Dye batting 3-5.

True enough. But, I don't think they'd get nearly as much for Konerko.

I think the answer is obvious -- Lyle Overbay. Only CLee got them SPOD, relief pitcher and $6 million.

They are going to spend the money. It's a salary dump so that they can get a quality starting pitcher.

My point is that the real PTBNL is in the $6 million. Of course, it could end up someone none of us is pleased with. I don't have any more information than anyone else here does. The point is the trade includes two PTBNL and its important to analyze the trade with that in mind. In other words, KW would not have traded CLee for just Viscaino and Pods.

If you turned around and signed Beltran, Renteria, and Pavano with sack of cash it would be one hell of a deal. I know the point is hard to understand but the White Sox are going to use the money to sign a player they otherwise couldn't afford. The financial relief is the most important part of this trade. It's not rocket science.

He's giving himself away again. He did the same goofy giggling thing just before signing Dye and making todays trade.

You obviously have the right to express your opinion but give me some evidence of KW and the White Sox sitting still and not trying to better themselves in recent years. You may not like who they end up signing but they will acquire someone. My point is that it is stupid to pretend that they won't. It requires one to ignore everything they have said and done in the last couple years.

Let me restate the obvious. Posednik isn't the key acquisition in this deal. The key acquisition is the additional money that will enable us to sign a quality starting pitcher. All of this whining about us ending up with Grilli or Hermanson being our 5th starter is crazy talk. Ozzie, RJ, and KW have been obsessed with obtaining a quality starting pitcher. It was clearly the #1 priority of the off-season. It's going to happen so just chill out and let's see who they get. If I have to listen (read) one more person evaluate this trade while ignoring the fact that we will be getting a starting pitcher my head is going to explode. In this day and age in professional sports a trade that gives you $6 million spending money is freakin' huge!!!

If we get Ginter and $6 million salary relief this is a very good trade.

Levine said two prominent names in addition to Posednik so I'm assuming the PTBNL is a major league roster player at least.

Clement would be a very nice addition... Made possible by this trade that so many of you blindly assail.
