  1. Exactly. The whole equation changes if you have to give up Garland or CLee. Chacon is drawing interest around the league but not that kind of interest. I'm guessing a 2nd tier minor league prospect might do the job like Diaz or Munoz. The Rox just don't want to pay Chacon's salary and their worried about what an arbitrator might put his salary at.
  2. How could trading Politte be risky? The main reason Shawn Chacon isn't Todd Ritchie is that no one is suggesting we trade three pitchers (two of them starters) for him. The reason we are interested in Chacon is that he's a rather inexpensive alternative that has the potential to be real positive. He's young and he's tough. No one has success in Coors Field without mental toughness. But, you can't evaluate him based on last year. The Rox made him their closer for some inexplicable reason when he had been their best starting pitcher the previous season. If the Cell really is Coors Field light then Chacon is an ideal young pitcher to put on our roster.
  3. Shawn Chacon is a quality pitcher. The Rox made him their closer for some dumb reason but trust me there's a reason a lot of teams are interested in him.
  4. Frankly, I'm glad that Yankees are stuck with him. They way overpaid him and now they have to deal with it. Screw them. Time and time again they mess up the market and they deserve it.
  5. Jaret Wright might be available again. From rotoworld... The Yankees intend to get more opinions on Jaret Wright's shoulder after the right-hander reportedly failed his physical. Newsday believes the Yankees want out of the deal, which they may now consider ill-advised regardless of exactly what is going on with his shoulder. A source with knowledge of Wright's medical records told TSN's Ken Rosenthal that Wright was cleared to pitch by Dr. Lewis Yocum, and that his MRI "looks better than Pedro's, better than (Bartolo) Colon's, better than (Kelvim) Escobar's." 6. From rotoworld... The Yankees and Carl Pavano have agreed to terms on a four-year, $44 million contract, SportsTicker reports.
  7. Get in the game Kenny and JR! This one's (Renteria) worth paying for!
  8. I couldn't have said it better. Welcome!
  9. Uh, no its not. I believe Brian Anderson was included in the package.
  10. I'm tired too and believe me I'm a guy who believes that teams need to invest in their minor league systems and scouts. Especially if you operate on a limited budget like the White Sox do. But, if you can aquire a guy like Hudson you go for it. That's just one guys opinion.
  11. A-M-E-N! Way to go Downey!@#$!))@#&*(&! Of course, the nattering nabombs of negativity on this site still will think we mistreated Maggs.
  12. You are absolutely right, YASNY. This will only happen because the Yanks want RJ so bad that they will literally pay Vazquez to pitch for us.
  13. No problem, since there's really no comparison. One's done the job consistently (until this year's goofiness with the Yanks), one after four years is still a prospect.
  14. Uh, that's one more year than BMac is guaranteed to pitch for us folks. I like developing players but when the real deal is available you don't let it go for a maybe.
  15. Of course its a no brainer. BMac is showing some great potential but hell we're just hoping he has a chance to develop into a pitcher that does what Hudson can do. Hudson has already done it. Come on people. Are there really people who think we shouldn't include BMac in a trade that brings us Hudson?
  16. I'd trade CLee and any of our best minor league players for Hudson in a heart beat. Hudson is the real deal, a #1 starter. It would be nice to have one of those kind of pitchers for once.
  17. Jon Garland isn't half the pitcher that Javy Wazquez is. We can debate stats all day long. Javy was better than Garland's best year in Javy's worst year. Enough said.
  18. We ain't gonna get both Vaz and Clement. If we're lucky we'll get Vaz without giving up Garland.
  19. Bruce Levine mentioned Carlos Lee as possibly being part of the three way trade with the Yanks and Diamondbacks instead of Konerko. That actually makes some sense given that the D-Backs no longer need a first baseman and maybe with CLee it can get done straight up.
  20. I thought you or someone else said that they were giving the Dodgers the edge. A's wanted some prospect of their's in the minors or something along with one of their young pitchers.
  21. I figured that someone would have mentioned it here had it been said...
  22. March 2nd is the opener in Tucson against the Rockies...
