  1. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) I don't think he needs AFLAC. Far be it from me to argue with a lawyer.
  2. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) It's hard for me to say this, but get well soon Mark. I really do hope he's alright. I hope he's got Aflac.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Some asshole St Louis fan is running around the office saying that he heard a muscle in his arm "split". Is that even possible...??? I've never heard of such a thing. If it hit him square in the elbow, I'm not sure how a muscle would come into play.
  4. Whatever you guys do, don't tell Cub fans that we actually have a 14 page thread on this.
  5. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) You elitests are cracking me up. "We are Sox fans. They are Cubs. Sox no like Cubs. Who Cares." One of the better, young, injury-ridden pitchers went down to one of the hardest come-backers I have ever seen. Get over yourselves. I personally take no satisfaction or greef over this. He'll still have his money, and I'll sleep the same tonight.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) I don't recall the Cubs fans exactly feeling sorry for us when the rumor about Buehrle's foot injury started in spring training. Thats why we're better than Cub fans.
  7. Watching the gamecast at work tonight. A Friday night. How depressing.
  8. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) That's a depressing thought. If our hitting doesn't pick it up, maybe we should get drunk before the game.
  9. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) Weird thing is some of the young guys they have pitching for them actually perform better at Coors then on the road. Well, pitching against the Sox offense there in about a week won't hurt.
  10. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) if every game were played in colorado they might win a world series No, cause the road team would get to play there as well.
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Wow, the Rockies pitching really sucks ass. Thomsonmi can attest to that.
  12. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) Before I read 7 pages of posts, what exactly is going on and how did this get to 7 pages so quickly? Prior got hit hard in the elbow. He's not feeling so hot. And, of course, we had the "why do Sox fans hate the Cubs so much" debate.
  13. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) buehrle>prior>wood I felt that way before both of their arms exploded.
  14. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) As secretive as the Cubs are about their injuries, I really doubt they would inform Levine of this before he is even X-rayed. I didn't see it, and he may have broken his elbow, but I doubt Levine has reported it yet. Thats what I was thinking. Like I said, take it for what its worth.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) I understand this is news, and we can post about it. I just find it sad that people are taking joy in Prior going down, because he plays for the Cubs. Te tell you the truth, I haven't really seen people taking a lot of joy out of this. Some of us weren't shedding any tears, but I haven't seen a lot of pure jubiltion yet.
  16. Not sure how credible this is, but some dude on the Cubs board said that Bruce Levine just reported that they think Prior broke a bone in his elbow. Haven't heard this, so take it for what its worth.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) hehe...best post in this thread Now heres a sox fan for ya Yeah hes a rightie... Don't you mean "righty"?
  18. So, did it hit him square on the elbow? If it did, its sounding like he could have a definite fracture. If so, all Cubs bias aside, thats a real shame.
  19. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) He's done for the day. He just got hit in the right arm, he's already welting near the right elbow. As soon as they stood him up, he walked off the field. This could be disasterous. Hate to see a guy like Prior get hurt, but you have to admit... ...this is so Cubs.
  20. If our offense could do what its supposed to do, we wouldn't even be discussing this.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Twins win 5-4. Nathan had trouble closing this one out, too. Back to a 6.5 game lead for now... Lackey has been painting the corners. This is going to be a looooooong day. 5 and a half.
  22. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) Goddamn C.C......straighten your damn hat already...this isnt the California Penal League, we wear hats and sleeves on this level.. Thanks, Lou Brown.
  23. Wish I could give you a recap on what he said, but I'm really not sure.
  24. QUOTE(hi8is @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) is it on right now for those in cali? Maybe not. Have no idea. It's on in Chicago.
