  1. When did Lowe become a top of the rotation guy? Look at the past two years. El Duque's numbers (when healthy) are much better than Lowe's. I know the health part scares ya, but that doesn't stop you from wanting Miller (a Tommy John surgery waiting to happen).
  2. Oh yah, my bad. They still don't have them listed on their roster. Me. :dips***
  3. Considering what every other pitcher is going for, I'll take it.
  4. To be honest, at the moment (w/El Duque) I'd say we're right there with the Yanks and Red Sox. That most likely will change in that I expect them to pick up some other pitcher via FA or trade. Yanks: Mussina - good Vasquez - who the hell knows Brown - good when healthy then what? Red Sox: Schilling - Great, may start season on DL Wells - good Clement - ok Wakefield - eh. Arroyo - ok. I'd probably put the Red Sox ahead of us and I do realize the strong chance that the Yanks might get the Big Unit. So, I'm thinking that we'll definitely start the season with the 3rd of 4th best staff in the AL.
  5. I'd actually go further and say that from top to bottom, our pitching as a whole would be the best in the division. Then again, the Twins have proven me wrong many times before.
  6. So, if we did sign El Duque (I ain't gonna jump the gun here), where do you guys think our staff 1-5 would rank in the division?
  7. Sometimes I wonder if you are speaking a different language.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1951346 Boy, if the Yankees sign Beltran, it basically comes down to Magglio being the best OF available.
  9. Can't they throw out these rumors a little earlier? I spent most of last night trying to figure out the legitimacy of the AJ rumors...now this. f*** it, I'm going to bed. :sleep
  10. Speaking of songs that you have no idea what the f*** Eddie is saying... You won't be able to find lyrics for this one.
  11. If we pick up another middle infielder (Cora or Eckstein), I'll definitely be pleased with the off-season. Let's hope this ain't the typical Score B.S.
  12. Looking at El Duque's stats, they aren't bad. 2 consecutive seasons with ERA's under 4. Not exactly an innings eater and IIRC, he is a tad injury prone. Thankfully, we have a pretty deep bullpen that could keep us from overextending him. Not really an exciting pick up, but if it happens, I like it. Not much better out there.
  13. 3 Cuban starters away from having the all-defector staff.
  14. Big time PJ fan. I feel like I am one of the few that still think they are good. I'd have to go with Corduroy off the Vitology album. Also love "I got ID" off the Merkin Ball import. Best album? Vs.
  15. I see Duhon possibly becoming an Eric Snow type player. Good defense, decent at times offensively, and a solid role player. I think Hinrich's jumper will come around. Even if he stays the way he is, he is still a solid defender and ball distributor. Gordon's offensive ability can offset Hinrich's poor shooting.
  16. Add to it that he drafted Hinrich last year and Pax is developing a pretty good reputation on draft night. Also want to mention that Deng is an absolute stud. I'm still wondering why it wasn't a bigger deal that we got him at #7 in the draft. He was the best player at Duke as a freshman for christ sake. He already looks like a damn good NBA'er and he's only 19.
  17. Does this mean that we'll be seeing the return of golden box seats with the gold railings?
  18. or we could just sign Ken Hill again.
  19. Man, I can't believe I'm actually excited that we might sign this prick, but I think it is going to happen. Reserving cautious optimism.
  20. Ack...you beat me to it.
  21. per Roto World...just now.
