  1. That commercial that he made is enough to love the guy. "Lets go insurance adjusters, lets go!" Seriously though, the guy is nothing but class. I somewhat agree with disliking Eli and his dad, but Peyton supporting them is what any brother or son would do. Not to mention that he's one of the best QB's I've ever seen. I sure wouldn't mind if a certain Chicago football team got him. He's a Colt for life though, so thats wishful thinking.
  2. ESPN reporting that Beltran has rejected Houston's offer.
  3. QUOTE(KittleWalk83 @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) I don't see why this love fest for Stone. And I certainly don't see what qualifies Stone to even be mentioned as a GM. No stupid announcer should move up to a GM spot. It happened once and that was a disaster. Um...cause Stoney is not just a "stupid announcer". The guy is a brilliant play by play man and actually was just about the only reason to watch a Cub game. His baseball knowledge is endless and basically predicts scenarios before they happen. I'd take him ahead of DJ in a heartbeat.
  4. Ray drove me nuts when he was here, but there is little doubt that he is a hell of a lot better than Willie. I'd take him on if SF picked up a decent amount of his contract. But, in order for that to happen, we'd probably have to give them players that I'd rather not give them. Going through free agency is still probably the best way to go.
  5. Although I think we still have a 2nd baseman coming, I still feel comfortable giving this offseason an A. Filling holes in the staff, bullpen, catcher, the basepaths, defense and the departure of Maggs seemed like a heavy load at the beginning of the offseason. But, from what I can see, we've basically done that. Does this translate into a division winner? Who knows. But at least in my mind, Kenny has done his job. Now lets hope the players do theirs.
  6. Not sure if this was posted, but I got this off whitesox.com.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 03:55 AM) Even if we do not get a middle infielder ( which i feel we will) the four players got by trading lee is way better than just keeping lee. Ditto. The middle infielder sure won't hurt though. A big to Kenny this offseason and especially the Lee trade. We actually got more with that trade than I expected.
  8. QUOTE(Hall of Famer @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) No way should Sandberg be in it. I don't like Ryno, but he was the best 2nd baseman of his time. And if Bill Mazerowski is in, then Ryno should be in.
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) There really is no reason though that he cannot develope a consistent 15 foot jumper and average 12 points per game and around 12-14 rebounds if he started. His problem is when he starts he does not seem to be as pumped up and commits stupid ass fouls. Edit: Why did you delete your post. Or am i blind? Agreed. But what little he does add is pretty important to the team, IMO. Like I said, if we had other players who were really good rebounders and shotblockers, Chandler probably wouldn't be worth keeping around. But, since those players are abcent on the Bulls, I'll take what Chandler gives us.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 03:51 AM) Bulls should of won and they played the worse game I've seen from them in a month or so. Actually, that game against New Jersey was a lot worse, but who's comparing. We just played sloppy basketball tonight. Tonights game kinda makes me appreciate Curry a little more. It means so much to an offense to have a scoring threat down in the low post. Although we hit our fair share, their were way to many three point attempts and not enough high percentage shots. And Othella: :puke
  11. I swear, if Harrington takes one more shot, I will s*** a brick! By the way A.J., I love your signature, but it's gonna get me into some serious trouble at work.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 03:00 AM) I love the episode where everyone thinks George is dead because he has been leaving his car at Yankee Stadium to make it look like he's working all day. It's classic for the part where Mr. Costanza leaves the message on Jerry's answering machine that goes like... "Jerry, it's Mr. Costanza, George is dead, Mr. Steinbrener is here, call me back." Of course Jerry Stiller delivers it perfectly! The best part of that episode is when Mr. Costanza chastizes Seinbrenner for trading away Jay Buhner.
  13. The one with the cock fight was pretty hilarious. You know, Little Jerry Seinfeld.
  14. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) "here we go insurance adjusters here we go" 37-34 Bulls "Cut that meat! Cut that meat!"
  15. Uh oh. 2 fouls already for Chandler. It looks like this is going to be the Othella Harrington/Antonio Davis show.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Guess it is a good thing that duhon's role is not a scorer then. He just made a 15 foot jumper. I like him. But, although we don't expect him to score, it would be nice if his jumper was just a tad better. Regardless of the 15 footer, he's got a horrible shot for a guard.
  17. The Boyfriend with Keith Hernandez and the JFK spoof. "That was one magic loogie."
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) Yeah, I heard that he is doubtful. What a pussy, it's the damn flu, PLAY! MJ would slap him silly.

    Got 3 for "fecal titanium".
  20. The 2003 Cubs actually made it to the NLCS. You make it to the playoffs, it's anybodys game.
