Tribe @ Sox, Game 1, 06/30, 7:11 PM

Alright Floyd, with this sort of lead no walks. I don't even care if its a get me over. That said, I wouldn't have a problem if he threw a 3-2 curve cause I think he gets him if its at least a decent hook. -

The only reason why PK may make that play is because he's a righty so it would have been easier to get his glove there in the first place. Regardless, given Swish is a lefty that was a spectacular play. -

Floyds curve is nasty tonight and DJ was commenting on how his velocity is up as well. -
I'll shoot out an email tonight, assuming I remember.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) I also had "Men Behaving Badly" on my list. An all time classic with Schneider. I know of one other person that likes that show and me and him always joke about how great it was and how much it sucked that it got cancelled.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Why does every person keep talking about dumping Hughes but keeping Ben Gordon. Hughes is a taller Gordon, with handles, that actually plays good defense. I would want him over Gordon on this team every day of the week, especially with a rookie starting next to him in the backcourt. Gordon is the superior offensive player, however, Hughes has a very unique skill-set and I figure he's going to stick on the Bulls because they can't get rid of him. He isn't excatly an efficient offensive scorer but aside from that he can handle the ball better than Gordon and is a much better defender. He does have injury issues though and one could question how well he'll play within an offense (but than again, I don't really see how Gordon plays within an offense).

On a sidenote, I'm surprised at no Family Matters or Step by Step love. As a kid I was a massive fan of those shows.

QUOTE (AssHatSoxFan @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) I am so glad Futurama is back with the new movies they have had Did they have more than one new movie? The only one I saw was the one with Bender essentially going back in time and stealing crap.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) The mystery person who left it off was... me. Never have been a fan. I don't like a lot of shows that other people do. Friends, Cheers, Raymond, Arrested Dev, Entourage, Curb Your Enth... I haven't even watched the Simpsons for at least 10 years. I had shows on my list that hardly anyone mentioned. In Living Color Futurama NewsRadio Just Shoot Me WKRP Futuram and Just Shoot Me are both fantastic.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 09:28 AM) No one wonders who the 18th person who didn't have Seinfeld on their list was? Had I sent in the list, I would have been one of those people. I never really watched the show or was a fan of it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 01:21 PM) With 1 makeup game still to play IIRC. Pirates vs Yankees is left.

I would be happy to give OC a 3 year deal worth a substantial amount of money. You leave Alexi at 2B and if Beckham develops as advertised you can consider moving OC in the final year of his contract.
-
He can also play a bit of the outfield. Just a really really solid player and I think he's one of those guys that will make his way through the minors unknown and than just all of a sudden appear and play well at the major league level (which will leave a lot of people going, who is this guy and where did he come from).

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) The skill set for a CF and a corner infielder are totally different, though. Not that you're wrong. Just saying, I don't think one has anything to do with the other. In fact I would say having a plus defender at CF play 1B, even if he is good at 1B, is a total waste. I agree completely, but I'm also saying that someone who plays CF should be one of the premiere defensive 1st baseman with a bit of experience (because "defensive" tools a Cfer possesses is superior to those a 1B possesses). Heck, just look at Darin Erstad, he was an absolutel stud at 1st (than again, in his prime, he was an absolutely stud in CF too).

QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 08:10 AM) I checked a couple other teams, just for perspective: Yankees: 32-22 with, 12-16 without Minny: 28-18 with, 17-19 without Cleveland: 28-18 with, 9-27 without If you get a chance, let me know what the Red Sox record is. I'd expect the Red Sox, Tribe, and Yankees to be much more like the Sox (more reliant on the homer) while I think the Angels and Twins would be on the other side of the spectrum (as they don't hit many hr's, thus they have to be able to manufacture and play to other strengths to have such good records).

QUOTE (YASNY @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 03:57 AM) I agree that Swish is a much better firstbaseman. However, I think Paulie's defense is generally underrated. He's been very solid over there for quite some time. He picks them with the very best of em and gets to anything hit near him. The only area he actually lacks is in the range department and I'd agree that Swisher is all around better, but not by a whole lot. I also think Swish is one of the best defensive 1st baseman in the game (as he should be, considering he is capable of playing CF).
