  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) It's amazing how many good pitches to hit he fouls straight back. BAM
  2. Linebrink is good and Alexi's turn is sexy (he freaking rifles the ball over).
  3. Marshall with 85 pitches right now (prior to any pitches thrown to Alexi). Alexi gets the job done on the sac bunt.
  4. I'd have no problem with a hit and run right here.
  5. Swisher is playing so much better this month. I likey, hopefully the June Swish is the one we see most of the time during his career in Chicago. Looks like Wood may be coming in.
  6. Ridiculous. In terms of innings pitched, last I looked we had the fewest relief innings pitched but maybe that changed after yesterdays game (to 2nd fewest). Nice job Mark, now lets get another couple runs and more importantly lets not give up anymore!!!
  7. And in case people need more info....Brian Anderson's middle name is Nikola or something like that.
  8. BA....WOOT WOOT. I was thinking when Swisher was up that Anderson is gonna do something this inning. Than again, I think that all the time.
  9. What is the weather forecast? I expect Mark to throw a ball and see if Blanco chases it. Blanco hits Mark well IIRC>
  10. Anderson is such a better CF than Wise. Wise gets terrible jumps on the ball. Not that Anderson did anything special on that double, but he's so much more smooth (better range, better jumps, better arm).
  11. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 05:17 PM) I thought we're playing Cleveland at the Cell? Yep, I'm an idiot, I was looking at last week on the schedule.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 10:10 AM) Coming out of college Rose is a much better prospect than Paul was, hell Paul wasnt even the first PG taken in his draft... Now, right now Rose is just a prospect so he might not end up better or even as good as Paul, but he definitely has that potential. Wasn't the big reason Paul went after Williams due to Paul having that on the court incident which led people to question his character (when he stepped on the guys groin).
  13. That said, Marshall is the type of pitcher that will give AJ trouble. I'd have had no problem with Hall starting and Alexi hitting in the 2 spot. That said, big game, no problem playing your big game player (especially with the off-day on Monday).
  14. QUOTE (joeynach @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) Why do we have the Right Handed lineup in against a LHP. Usually Hall gets a start and Thome gets a day off against Lefty starters...what gives with today. Thome hasn't played that much due to those games in the NL so I think Ozzie wants to get him some consistent at bats. Not sure why AJ is out, but I'm guessing the Sox have an off-day tomorrow and Ozzie wants AJ in there (although doesn't Hall catch Buehrle relatively often).
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 11:28 AM) Nobody is a WS lock on June 29th, however, considering up until the Tampa series the Cubs had not lost 3 games in a row, and up until yesterday, the Cubs had never lost 3 in a row twice(hopefully 4 in a row after today), I would venture to say the Cubs are still sitting pretty. Even if they lose. Lets see the White Sox send the fans home delirious tonite after an ESPN primetime game. I don't even think anyone could possibly be considered a world series lock in baseball. The reality is in baseball, more than any other sport, the team that gets hot at the right time can go from the underdog to the favorite in a hurry. The only other sport that I would say works that way is hockey, where a goalie can get hot and absolutely carry a team.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) Yeah I was drunk, but I still think Beltre is a sleeper to be a candidate for 3B. I love Beltre and moving him from safeco to the cell would do wonders for his numbers, but giving up that much would be a poor idea and that is coming from someone who doesn't think highly of Josh Fields.

  18. He Gawn...that was a replica of the first pitch he threw that was called a ball.
  19. Where the heck was that first pitch. That should have been a strike.
