  1. Did I need to register at pokersourceonline before signing up at Absolute Poker or does it matter?
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 25, 2007 -> 08:55 AM) Hey, its legal isnt it? IM like the MLB, I like to draft em straight out of high school. What country do you live in...I could swear the laws were 18 (at least they are here). That said I'm the last person that should be talking consider my last 3 ex's were under 21 (but over 18).

    I don't buy into that crap. I have looked a couple times but never picked my schedule based on it. I had friends that literally read all through it before finally picking out there schedule (and based there whole schedule upon it). Personally I figured a lot of good teachers (who may just be tough) get slammed a lot on there and for me when I was in class I liked to get pushed (and joke around with attractive girls and my friends) so I really could care less whether a teacher was tough or not.
  4. f*** Yes to 3 day weekends. Especially when as of a week ago you were slated to work at least one day, possibly two days of that weekend. But somehow, I got my ass in gear, took care of business and will get to enjoy a full 3 day weekend. Better yet...my company gave us another 4 holiday days to use over the summer....SHWING. God I could use a break (i don't know how some of you people have worked for 35-40 years....I'm having a hard enough time to getting to one year of having an actual career as opposed to a part time job).
  5. The guy is a freaking legend out in the field defensively and offensively I never thought people thought that highly of him (although his last few years have been pretty damn impressive). I always thought of him as a good to solid offensive player and a legendary defensive player and in no way do I consider him over-rated.
  6. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ May 25, 2007 -> 09:28 AM) I know I'm "retired" from all of this soxtalk stuff but I am bored at work today and this question was on my mind. I have two friends that have been dating about 2 years now. The guy is 21 and will be graduating in Dec; the girl, 22, has just graduated. Neither of which have full time jobs right now, and he plans on "being in graduate school as an english/writing student" which he'll "definitely be paid for" 1) Do you think it is wise for them to elope, because "they don't have the money for a big ceremony?" 2) Do you think it is selfish to elope (assuming you're not 35+ and/or in some other obvious non-traditional situation) and not include friends and family? 3) Do you think it's appropriate to then have a later reception paid for by someone else, which will surely invite people to bring gifts regardless of the "please don't bring gifts" note on the invitations? I'm just curious if I'm being overly protective of these friends. anyone? thoughts? Wise, maybe maybe not (just depending on whether they are ready for marriage). As far as selfish, I think its ridiculous that some people expect some huge fabulous amazing wedding ceremony. They can clearly alope as it would be far smarter given there limited finances. And as far as 3, again I don't see a problem celebrating something at a later date.
  7. I just want to say....god has Fullerton f***ing choked this year.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 24, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) Jason, you are a goddamn liar.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 12, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) So i've got on The Score briefly this afternoon and i hear this guy co-hosting a show. WTF? http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/school...hot/651514.jpeg Whose that?
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ May 23, 2007 -> 08:44 AM) There's at least 2 other members here cooking as well. Thats fantastic news. Congrats Steff (ROOT BEER)
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 23, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) F*** ESPN for not having the Liverpool/Milan match in high-def. I was stunned it wasn't in HD (considering the MLS games are).
  12. California Nevada Arizona New Mexico Wyoming Utah Colorado South Dakota North Dakota Minnesota Michigan Wisconsin Missouri Texas Illinois Ohio Massachusetts North Carolina South Carolina New York Indiana Kentucky Nebraska Pennsylvania Maryland Delaware Connecticut Virginia West Virginia Tennessee That would be 30 states.
  13. QUOTE(tigerfan @ May 23, 2007 -> 11:00 PM) Little off topic, but I miss the old 1st and 10 with Woody and Skip. They had the perfect chemistry those two. Now it's just not the same, particularly since they seem to be in no hurry to pick a replacement. As for the NBA stuff, 3 words: Inside the NBA. Best studio show period. I just miss Woody Paige. That man is freaking hillarious.
  14. Scum doesn't even begin to describe him.
  15. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 23, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) Let's see Gaudin's numbers come July... I am not sold on him. I haven't been impressed at all by his stuff. It shouldn't be much of a surprise...Gaudin pitched well. I wouldn't exactly write the offense off though, its been making some great strides fundementally (and the results have shown, sans today). Garland really battled tonight and probably shouldn't have been out there in the 7th (wouldn't have matter either way I understand he was leaving Jon in to try and reward him hoping he'd have an easy 7th and the offense would somehow pick him up). He's really proving that he can go 6/7 and keep the squad in the game even when he is truly off his game (the guy has been stellar for the club all season).
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 23, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) I haven't listened yet. What's been said? In short...."You SUCK"
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 22, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) It had to be done Alex....had to be done
  18. If Danks and Dice K had identical numbers I would guarantee you that Danks would win the rookie of the year (I don't care if Dice-K is playing for Boston, the media just doesn't like voting for the guys coming from another professional league...they will do it, but only if the player is considerably better than the other rookies). And by no means am I saying Danks will win the rookie of the year. We can start discussing that after the opposition has faced him a couple times (I love watching the guy pitch though and I can't imagine what he'll do as he continues to gain faith in his secondary stuff and improve his command). That and pick up a nice cutter/2seamer to run in onto the hands of righties.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 22, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) Atlanta should feel extremely lucky. Because their pick finished in the top 3, they get to keep it. Phoenix would be steaming right now. And really for the Hawks, it's a perfect oppurtunity to get the Oden / Conley jr. combo. They have the 11th pick as well. They can trade up from #3 to #1 to get Oden, and then pick Conley at #11. They do that, they've got quite a good young developing lineup in Oden, Josh Smith, Williams (the #2 pick from a few years back, think that's his name), Joe Johnson and Conley, with Speedy Claxton, Josh Childress, Zaza Pachulia and Shelden Williams. Of course that's if Portland decided they wanted to trade down. For say a 2009 1st rounder, I'd say they'd probably do it, and settle with Yi Jianlian, Brandon Wright or Al Horford. Boston will probably trade their pick for a veteran. What Memphis are going to do I don't know. Maybe trade Gasol, and get even more picks, and keep developing that youth of theirs. Whoa....Portland would be nuts to move down just for an additional first rounder. Maybe if they got a couple young athletes in return plus the first rounder but god it would be horrificly dumb to give up Oden for an extra first round pick the following year (not when Oden is the best center to come up in years). QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 22, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Would Memphis still be interested in the Bulls' first round pick? I still have my eye on Gasol, unless there's a chance that Hibbert falls to the Bulls. Ninth overall + Gordon + Nocioni probably wouldn't get it done, would it? If that got the deal done I'd be all for it, as long as the Bulls could attract someone with the mid-level to bring in as there starting 2 guard. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Well, the idea of getting a big man and running your offense through a big man is that it opens up shots for people. I don't like having an offense that primarily relies on the three ball. Ben Gordon would be missed, but you gain a lot on the defensive end just because Gordon is off the floor. Skiles can still run a motion type offense, you just have to run different types of cuts when the big man gets the ball on the block. I think this could help Deng a lot, too. Finally, It's easier to find a guy who will bury some threes than it is to find a guy who can play as well as Gasol can with his back to the basket. Onto the draft -- if the Bulls keep the pick, ideally I'd love to have one of Hibbert or Horford. If not, I think Brewer would fit very well on the Bulls. Screw any wing players in the draft, unless of course the Bulls deal Gordon or Nocioni for a big that they like (and than we draft a wing player). I would absolutely be stoked if Horford fell all the way to 9 (but I'd be stunned if it happened). I think its more likely that Spencer Hawes falls (and he may be a bit over-rated for a freshman, but still a solid player). I'd love either Wright from UNC, Horford or Hibbert. Although I must say I would settle with Noah (even though I think he is almost a Ben Wallace clone (Because in the long term, 1-2 years I expect Wallace to get dealt again and at that point in a worse case scenario, Noah could fit in). The only reason I even mention Noah though is because I wouldn't pass on his potential/upside/athletism if those other guys were off the board.
  20. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 22, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) According to Ken Rosenthal, former Angels and Tigers closer Troy Percival may make a comeback attempt. Percival's agent says the chances are 50/50, and that he was clocked at 97 recently. As Rosenthal says, someone will give him a shot if he does come back. Percival will likely decide today, and he'll call the Angels first. Percival turns 38 in August. He received an ill-advised two-year, $12MM deal from Detroit prior to the 2005 season, and ended up pitching 25 innings over the life of the contract. from the always-entertaining mlbtraderumors.com Don't like the looks of that Angels pen if Percival is back to his old self, although the White Sox always did fairly well against him. I'd give him a look either way. I assume he's feeling really good and most of the reason for his struggles late in his career had to do with a hip condition (IIRC). The main reason I'd want him is because we have a very young pen and I think it could really really be beneficial to have a veteran around the bunch and there aren't many guys classier you could have in the back of the pen. Maybe Erstad can help the Sox get the front track (if the Angels pass on him). And geeze, if he's throwing 97 I see no reason he wouldn't be able to get guys out at a half decent rate (or at least a rate better than Sisco).
  21. QUOTE(3E8 @ May 21, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) What a fall from grace for Carl. Don't feel too bad, he made 45 million dollars during his professional career. I'll always love Carl for his dinosaur comments and firey attitude.
  22. Well, this week Jason & Mario get a little harsh when they discuss the Sox. The first order of business was slamming the opinions of all Sox fans that are ready to waive the White flag in the middle of May. Once the slam-fest was finished, the duo got a little bit more calm and discussed the rotation, pen, horrific lineup and potential solutions to the lineup. Also, please note that our front page is under-going improvements and because of such you can only download or stream the show but the front page should be back in the next week. In addition, we apologize for what was a jumpy show. Download/Stream the Show

    What is a sty? Is that when you have a thing of blood in your eye (or at least it looks like blood).
  24. It was needed, so here it is. Whatever random gaming discussion you want to have, have it here (unless there is something deserving of a new thread, in which case create one).
