  1. Ok were through 4 and we'll be doing some auto shuffling to make sure everyone gets there keepers after the draft.
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) damn, I got Uribe and Rowand in like the 10th and 11th rounds of my last draft. Dye was a 21st rounder. My guess is that won't be the case in the keeper league draft tomorrow. I remember last year a lot of Sox jumped off the board early. I guess thats what happens when 99% of the players are Sox fans, lol.
  3. Heck no Yasny, a good article is a good article regardless of where it comes from Thanks for sharing that.
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Calvin Pickering So its not Clee? Cause I was looking at it thinking that it didn't quite look like him.
  5. And as far as Swisher goes, the reason he's ahead of everyone else is simple, Billy Beane. For whatever reason most publications drool over everything and anything the guy does. Swisher was a good draft pick though and he is a solid player. Plus I think you have to look at it from the aspect that Swisher is most likely to produce at this point considering that Jackson and Anderson are both in the minors. There is nothing wrong with any of them, but sheer upside wise, I'd probably put Anderson as tops of the 3 simply because he rates out as a potentially good defensive centerfielder in my mind and thats a tough position to fill, especially with a guy who also has 25 HR pop.
  6. Also, probably the most interesting player to watch in the org this year may just be Bobby Jenks. If he's healthy and mentally stable he could shoot through the org incredibly quickly and even find a spot in Chicago by the end of the season. Of course my guess would be that the odds are even greater that he gets reinjured or just has a major mental blowout and finds himself without a job. I'm rooting for him though because he could have a majorly positive impact if all were to go well.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Of course the cynic in me tells me Josh Fields is on the Carlos Lee track to the Majors... He may be at 3B all the way to the bigs, but from what I've heard about his defense, he may have to find another position. Actually I thought he was a semi solid defensive 3rd baseman from the little I saw of him and I think he has the ability to turn into a little above average defensive 3rd baseman. He has a very strong arm and decent range for a 3rd baseman. It just comes to him improving footwork and just consistently playing 3rd base. No way do I see Fields playing anywhere else, unless of course Crede lives up to his potential (which I think will happen) in which case Fields will get moved to either left or 1st base. Thats just cause Crede is one of the better defensive 3rd baseman in baseball, imo.
  8. Also, if someone is not at the draft and accidentally drafts your player. Then when that persons turn comes up, they will draft the next auto rated player available, and then we'll swap the two spots. If that makes sense, I hope it does. Basically lets say Kapkomet's spot comes up and he drafts Carlos Beltran (he's not at the draft so it auto takes it). Obviously thats asshats guy so when Asshat comes up to pick, instead of taking Beltran, he will take the next best player thats not on the keeper (not in his mind, but on the default rankings, because I think thats the most accurate way of doing so) meaning lets say Randy Johnson is that player because he's gonna be someones keeper who can't attend the draft (none of the current teams have him). Anyway then I'll type this stuff into a word document and it will be mandatory to swap these players. So Kap would get RJ by example and Asshat would get Beltran in a deal. This may have to happen once or twice, but it should be simple enough.
  9. I think we can. I know I can edit rosters or something and my plan would be to do so. The thing that sucks is there was nowhere where I could edit the default ranks to remove the preselects. If I could it would of been cake. And asshat, I know you had Miguel cause I remember trying to pick him up. And you must have Beltran cause he is one of the guys still out there.
  10. Judging by the double chin and his face, he's put on some pounds.
  11. Ok I only got Keepesr from these players: Chisoxfn Vladdy Guerrero Ivan Rodriguez Curt Schilling Frankie Rodriguez (K-Rod) Danman (Flairs) CC Sabathia Eric Gagne Tim Hudson Eric Chavez Heads Mark Buehrle Jason Schmidt Albert Pujols Rocco Baldelli Soxfan420 Ichiro Suzuki Derek Jeter Pedro Martinez Brandon Lidge SuperSteve Barry Bonds Scott Rolen David Ortiz Jason Isringhausen Kapkomet Alex Rodriguez Michael Young Cheat (GolfClub Team) Carlos Zambrano Roger Clemens Manny Ramirez Alfonso Soriano Steff Ray Durham Cy Young Porzio Adrian Beltre Carl Crawford Miguel Tejada Mark Prior The other players are Bullard, Asshat, Cerbaho, and
  12. QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) What a foolish poll. I've said it before and I'll say it again: f*** Illinois. And Go Bulls. In the end I'll be rooting for the Illini because as an Iowa fan I'm a big ten fan and if the Hawks are gonna suck I'd at least like to be able to say the winner of there conference (and a team Iowa took to OT) ended up winning it all. Of course I'm sticking with my preseason pick of UNC. I Remember picking them right after they kicked the piss out of the Hawkeyes (back when they were actually a legit squad...freaking Alford).
  13. Remember, Konerko also had a short stint a few years back where the Sox tried him out at 3rd base. It didn't last long, but it wasn't a bad idea. The big reason he didn't catch was because he wasn't a great defensive catcher. He also had a type of disease, forget which that weakened him or I remember reading that way back when he was with the Dodgers (may not be a disease, but it was something). Of course the main reason was the Dodgers had Mike Piazza ahead of him, plus they didn't want a guy that could swing the bat like Konerko stuck behind the plate because typically it shortens your career. So unless you project to be plus defensively, there is a decent shot they'll move you. But if you ever wonder why Konerko has such a good arm for a 1st baseman, its because he caught and also did a little 3rd base.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) That's the hitters eye. Watch the ball right after it is released and if it is red, its a curveball/splitter, white is fastball, and green is offspeed. It took me a while to figure that out because I didn't read the manual, but it really helped my hitting. I just sit on fastballs and slap line drives all over. WTF, I had no idea of this hitters eye your talking about. Jesus, I'm a moron. I'd of never of known this if I hadn't actually read this.
  15. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Wouldn't that be nice if Harris excels at short? It would be freaking fantastic. I'm doubting he has the arm strength to be a starter for any extended period. At the same time David Eckstein never had the arm strenght to be a great SS, yet fielding% wise he was among the best in the businss and Chone Figgins sure as hell didn't have the arm to play 3rd base. The Angels managed. I know one thing, Willie Harris, if given another starting spot is going to be a good ballplayer.
  16. Noc came up big tonight, imo. I actually think this is a stretch where we can really see Noc develop into the type of player he can be, which in my opinion is a pretty darn good NBA player. He's just got to get some confidence and rhythm going offensively cause he's not near as bad of a shooter as he's shown thus far this season. Its gonna happen this stretch so I'm hoping the Bulls can win without Deng and Noc can improve and then the Bulls will be even better when Deng returns. Thats my hope at least.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Hinrich is unclutch like he has been all year, Spurs ball, Manu shoots. Hits. Game. Goodnight. Umm, there has been countless games where Hinrich has drained key jumpers down the stretch when the team was failing. He had a rough game tonight, but he was playing in foul trouble just like Curry and Chandler were.
  18. Hinrich misses a runner and that will end the ball game. Bulls foul Ginobili with 11 seconds left and he's gonna make his free throws. Bulls did a hell of a job coming back from 17 down. If anyone had any doubt as to whether the Bulls can play with the best in the league, it was made obvious that they can play with the best. However, its still a loss and they still did a lot of things really sloppy tonight. Gordon hits the 3 making it a 3 point game with 4 seconds remaining. Ginobili fouled with 2.7 left.
  19. f***, Duncan sinks them both.
  20. The Bulls foul the right man with 22.4 seconds left. That would be Tim Duncan. He's 5-5 and he's gonna miss at least one giving the Bulls a shot. This games gonna go OT, I can feel it.
  21. Spurs take the lead and then they call Duhon out of bounds with 23.2 seconds left so the Bulls will have to foul down 96-94. Poorly called game but maybe the Spurs will miss some free throws and something will happen. Bulls showed so much heart and ability to bring it back. Come on Chicago, somehow come back.
  22. Bulls took the lead by 2 when Gordon hit a jumper. Then the Spurs got an offensive rebound and scored to tie it up. Bulls go back down and Hinrich moves and they call AD for an offensive foul which I thought was a little picky. Said it was an illegal screen but it looked solid to me. Bulls get the ball back though 94-94 with 1:01 left to play.
  23. Bulls have this game tied up. Gordon with 10 points but Chandler just picked up his 5th foul. Parker just put in a bucket and the Spurs are up 2 with 3:30 to go.
