Guys get over it. You have a different opinion RedandWhite then Qwert and Cerb. They are Sox fans, your both a BoSox and White Sox fan but the BoSox are your favorite team. Of course your not going toa gree with an assement that BoSox fans are whiny and neither are the Sox fans going to agree with the assessment were all criminals or what not. However, would the two sides likely agree on the fact that Cub fans are jackasses, yes. Whats that mean, that both sides if not talking about a team they like, would potray a teams fans in a certain light, just like our teams fans are protrayed in a certain way. As far as Cerb's comments about Mient goes, he backed him up with that beautiful OPS that he's posted, which is downright pathetic for a 1st baseman, imo. So as far as I'm conerned, this is an argument neither side can win, just state your opinion and move on so you don't start exchanging personal attacks at each other.

Ya, Baj is one class act He mentioned to me that next time he'll throw more offspeed pitches. Go get em Baj, were all cheering for you to come through

Its gotta be the size. Just not many starters are sucessful at his stature. Sure Oswalt and a few others have, but their are more the exception then the rule. However, you can't doubt his hook at this point, but I know their have been some reports that he's tipping it at this point because his motion is a bit different when he throws the hook.

As far as Fields goes, I think he could probably hold his own in AA, but I still think he has had a pretty minimal amount of experience and the last thing I'd want to see the Sox do is put him in AA where he'll get absolutely owned for a month or two and completely kill his confidence. While Fields has a ton of power potential and should turn into a good hitter, he's still a little raw based on the whole two sport thing. In regards to Sweeney, the guy has been oustanding the entire second half of the season basically, so to me it would be a no doubter to move him up to AA. This is a guy that they damn near started in AA...the Sox think that highly of him. As far as his power goes, he won't develop it for another two years potentially. First off he's still got a while till he feels up and secondly he's not really to the point where he picks counts to drive the ball, he just works on using all parts of the field (which is great). In all honesty, I kind of see him as a similar hitter to Garret Anderson (potential wise). I think he should be a tremendous hitter who will develop more and more power as his career progresses and could turn into a 30/35 guy eventually, but I highly doubt he will be that during the first few years of his major league career. *Thats my bold prediction*

Remember Florida is also playing tremendous baseball, or at least they were, who knows how the Hurricane delay will effect them.

I lean to letting Bmac get more starts in Bham. IT won't hurt, he doesn't have many AA starts and to me AA is a good place to have a pitcher get a good amount of experience. I want to see what he can do there and if next year he starts off and is ripping off good start after good start, then move him to AAA.
-
Sweeney and Fields should be good to watch in Bham next year. However, I don't know how quickly they will move Fields.

I thought the same thing. He has to feel at least a little bit screwed up in the whole thing.

This was definately surprising.

Probably 410...it just cleared the cf fence.

Phil Rogers: Rangers might ask for Garland

Ya, I don't think they are going either. I was just looking through some rosters and I love speed and it definately fits what Ozzie wants to do. -
JOBO dead center Its time for Borchard to get hot. I told Dan this on aim just prior to the homer.

I like Huff too...was a huge proponent of acquiring him this offseason back when he was supposedly on the block. -

Milton may pitch better next year, but this year he has not been good. He's gotten wins, but his numbers are :puke Does anyone think someone like Carl Crawford would be on the trade block? I'd love to pick up Crawford in a trade, Soriano in that deal, and then Jacque Jones via free agency. Talk about revamping an offense with speed. Don't ask me how the Sox would get Crawford though, but I'd love an OF of Jones/Crawford/Rowand with Lee getting dealt for a SP, the Sox signing a SP, and you have Uribe play ss with Willie coming off the bench or being dealt. Carl Crawford Alfonso Soriano Frank Thomas Paul Konerko Jacque Jones Aaron Rowand Juan Uribe Ben Davis Joe Crede You could change that lineup a few ways, but its got a boatload more speed with Crawford, Soriano, Jones, Rowand, Uribe all with good speed..some with great speed. Thats just a far out idea I came up with. -
Plus the defensive plays he made yesterday.
-
I'd assume the organization thought it would help him.

*Pipe Dream*...get his ass in a White Sox uniform *End Pipe Dream*

I think thats what would happen and you would insert, most likely, a first baseman that would be a left handed hitter, that or the Sox would get a left handed hitting left fielder, which isn't impossible. Hell, pick up Jacque Jones and Soriano for Garland and FA money. Then in turn, deal Lee or Konerko for a starting pitcher (you could definately do that...hell, I bet Seattle would give up Pineiro if your willing to take the chance he comes back) and then you sign a FA pitcher. Think, Piniero is cheap, while the FA pitcher costs money. Salary goes up, but you get Maggs contract off the books, Koch's, etc. Add a bullpen arm or two and your good. Outfield Jones and Rowand, plus you could stick Soriano out there and keep Willie/Uribe in the middle infield or find another bat like Reggie Sanders (just a cheap veteran signing or you could have Gload play left all season) or what not.
