I think it would be a traversty if anyone but Diaz is called up. He has pitched fantastic and Wright was shelled today, so he's not an option. He's had great stuff and has done his time in AAA and this season he's absolutely dominating. It seems he's finally honed the ability to pitch with his great stuff. I'm really excited to see him in the majors.

Agreed. Its my personal believe he had no clue this was going on. The White House found out and now they are making the efforts to correct the problem. I also have to say its utter bulls*** that this happened, but I do think its being blown drastically out of proportion. Unless these were things being called down from the top, I see no reason why Rumsfeld should resign. Now he should learn from this and I hope that their will be better ways for people to inform on prisoner abuse so the government can quickly act and stop it immediately if it does happen.

Well, I'm just make this post. I think its my whopping 2nd of the day. I've been dicking around all day. Spent some tmie at the beach after school, then had a home run contest in MVP with a few buddies. Damn was that a blast. The home run contests in the game are way fun.

I thought he stepped it up, but I hated seeing him get in that situation. Bottom line, he got the job done when he didn't have his best control and I've seen him have pretty good stuff at parts this season too, when he looks close to unhittable (say during that scoreless streak). I think Billy is slowly coming back and this will be a huge step forward for him. He got himself in an awful situation and pitched out of it. You can't expect it to happen that way all the time, but he knows he's the closer and he's only going to get better, imo.

Two games ago he had thrown 7/1/3 scoreless had he not. And today he didn't have the ball hit hard. He had a single drop in front of Maggs because Maggs was playing incredibly deep. The walk kicked his but, but I'm not near ready to give up on Koch.

I don't have a clue whats going on with the roster situation in Kanny. Usually they are really good about getting their releases out. I'm guessing something was going on where they had a player available or they made some sort of switch since it was a double header.

I agree, I'd like Garcia. He makse good money but the guys the Sox would give up would too. Seems like a fair swap too and Garcia isn't like any other pitcher we have in our rotation.

I'm still hoping the A's suck and one of their studs somehow enters the block. That or the Phillies really dissapoint and the Sox could pry one of their pitchers.

I do think McCourt would take it and good luck to the Pirates, no one will pick up Bensons salary cause I don't think any of the big bidding teams are going to look into acquiring him, which means someone will have to take on a contract in return, imo. McCourt would take it because I honestly believe they want to dump Perez, even though he is pitching good. I still hear a lot of talk of him being the one shipped out.

No one, which is why I firmly believe at one point or another the Sox will have to move Lee, Konerko or JOse for a good starter and I think Carlos is the only one that will get us that type of starter in return. On the plus side, Carlos salary will also negate whatever the Sox get in return which would make a deal pretty likely. Garcia, Odalis Perez are the tops on my list. I could see Benson, but Benson still has all those health issues and frankly I wouldn't take the shot at giving up Lee for him, unless the Sox get someone else effective in return.

But the Sox won't take him without that. No way do I see the Sox adding payroll. Jose, Paulie and Lee will be who they dangle at the deadline, imo.

I don't know what happened to the thread posted by FireBrand. I closed it and then noticed it dissapeared but still had it open so I'm going to paste it in here. I was originally going to move it in here. My response Now I'm going to go one step farther and say this is the last I ever want to hear about the feud, argument or what not between Jim and Crector. The two of them and anyone else involved can deal with it elsewhere. Soxtalk isn't the place to bring your gripes. As far as I'm concerned, I know nothing of it and don't want to. I ask the that the two of you ignore each other here and you can do whatever you please elsewhere.

I shoudl add, neither Konerko or Lee are worth what they will be paid. I like both of them, but if the Sox fail to sign Maggs, who is a true superstar, it will be because of those two awful signings and thats something I don't want to see. Maggs is a guy you can stick in the 3 hole and forget about. He does everything good and can carry a club. Carlos isn't quite in that role because he, while he works hard defensively, will never be much of an outfielder. I give him credit for busting his ass, but he has poor range and a weaksauce arm with a slow release.

I'd stick Carlos on 1st and would let Thomas play first too. First isn't that tough of a position and I'd think Carlos could pick it up pretty easily. Then I'd have Willie in cf and Reed in left. I don't really care which of the two would be gone, Garcia would give us a stellar, still young, right hander, who has pitched in some pressure games. Garcia had a down year last year, but he's back.
