Possible Trade I thought of
For some reason I thought last year was his final option, but maybe I'm wrong.

Possible Trade I thought of
I didn't say I'd do the trade above. However, the above trade would free up some payroll. I think the first thing the Sox have to do is find a way for Harris and Uribe to play every day. Whether that means moving Valentin, then so be it. I also think they need to get rid of Konerko. I fully believe that Gload is easily capable of putting up a .270 AVG, with some pop and some clutch hits. Plus he provides a left handed bat in the back of the order. Therefor I'd work incredibly hard on a Konerko/Jose for Garcia and Wynn swap. If I can't get Wynn, so be it, maybe get Olerud and have him show Gload the ropes but also get Gload time. Olerud would also be a solid fit like so many have said. I'd also add a very good prospects like Rauch or Borchard to the mix and would even consider giving up someone like Andy Gonzalez if they in fact wanted him. Still, if you can do a Konerko/Jose for Garcia and Wynn you end up basically keeping contracts the same, although I can't possibly explain why the Mariners would do this. I think in the end they would have to get Lee, which still means the Sox have to move Konerko. In this instance I'd do everything I could to get Sean Casey for Konerko, although who knows if you could convince the Reds to do this. Either way get Konerko and Jose out of here. Let Gload play 1st if possible and then Wynn or Reed in the OF.

But Rauch is out of options, so if he is put up on the roster then it has to be a permanent move. I think thats why the Sox aren't even thinking about him right now. They want him to be blowing hitters away before they even give him a chance.

Felix Diaz
His heater went from 88 to 93. The odd thing was, at 93 his fastball had way more life then at 88. The few times I saw him really fire, he really had a damn good fastball cause it had some sick action to it. He also had a nice slider, when he didn't leave it up. It seems like he just has to continue with perfecting a consistent release point on his pitches, especially the breaking pitch. I also think he may still have a little strengthening left to his arm, since he didn't really start all that much last season (I think he had like 18 starts in the minors, off the top of my head).

The bigger picture is Toronto wouldn't take on these type of contracts, imo. However, I do think Lilly is the type of pitcher that could be a decent fit.

Interesting Article
I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd rather try and package Konerko somehow, but if its Lee instead so be it. I want to see Gload in the back of the lineup, I just don't think the Sox will bench Konerko.

An Early Prediction
Well I'm not implying taking one in the 1st round, however, sometime between 1-10 may not be bad. The Sox have absolutely nothing in the organization behind the plate and I think it would be a wise move. You gotta take chances every once in a while. I'd like to see the Sox at least get one guy with the tools and ability to make it behind the plate, just in case Olivo gets hurt or doesn't pan out. I do see your point though.

Kris Honel
Thanks for the info Baj. Awful news on Wing. I really like the guy as a prospect, seems like a nice guy too. Hopefully he'll be able to recover better from his labrum injury then the recent Sox pitchers to undergo that surgery. Hopefully Honels arm will start feeling stronger and he'll get things back in grove.

Felix Diaz
Harden had I think two bad starts this season right out of the gate that inflated his ERA, but since than he's been very impressive. He'll be moving into my rotation next week on my fantasy team .

We are so Fu**in' Lethargic!!
Personally I think its more if he can get healthy and stay healthy. He always seems to have nagging injuries that really effect his swing, specifically his batspeed. Right now its his back. I think once healthy, we'll see Joey B hit the heck out of the ball. Today he had 2 HR's and 7 RBI's, but I want to see him perform on a consistent basis. It does seem like the few games he's felt good all year, he has produced though (that includes spring training).

Felix Diaz
Personally I think Diaz gave it his all and he fought hard. Today he got roughed up early and actually pitched decent later in the game. He went 100 plus pitches and gave Ozzie as many innings as he could on 3 days rest until the rain came. I want to see him make another start. I saw a good slider and a fastball with some life to it. However, he left the slider and changeup up too often (especially on lefties) and he's going to have to improve that.

Gammons on Sox trade talks
Well Eaton came from the Phillies (via Andy Ashby) and Peavy didn't exactly explode onto the scene. The Pads also dealt with Tankersley and Oliver Perez's struggles and really Peavy was the only guy that panned out. At the same time, Eaton took quite a while to develop because every time he'd get rolling he'd get hurt. Peavy is a stud though. Still, 99% of all youngsters take time to develop once reaching the majors. And Aboz, for whatever reason I have some doubts about Honel. I'd like to see him come up with some better secondary pitches to go with his knuckle curve and fastball.

Ed Farmer says Sox quit on Manuel
Well for those that knock tinkering, just look at Mike Scioscia, he easily tinkers as much as Manuel did. My problem with Manuel was it didn't seem like he had the guts to tell those players that zoned him out to get lost. I think Ozzie has the balls to do it and that he and KW have the relationship to the point that if a player isn't working out, Ozzie can tell Kenny and Kenny will ship the guy out and try to get what he can in return.

Gammons on Sox trade talks
If the Sox improved in other areas to the point that Reed could be brought up in the 8 hole and just allowed to play, then I woudln't have a problem with it. Either way I feel he's destine for Chicago by June. I think he would already be here had he not been suffering from the banged up wrist. Once he's healthy or at least feeling near healthy (and in turn hitting the ball well) he will be in Chicago, imo.

Well the 1st trade is definately something that could go down, although you could argue it is a steep price. However, get Wynn involved in that deal and insert Rowand and now were talking something interesting. The 2nd trade is an absolute pipe dream though (unfortunately). The Sox give up maybe a million in contracts and get about 12-16 mill in return (too lazy to look up the exact figures, but both Graves and Casey make a lot). Mix that with the fact the Sox are already at budget. Still, I like Wynn and I like Garcia. Picking those two up would solve a few problems. Plus someone like Jose could be made available as well. And a top of the order with Willie and Randy would be nice. Then again, the Sox would still lack left handed power down in the order. But with Konerko gone, you swing Gload over their and I think Gload produces at least at a reasonable level (.270, 15-20 HR, and 70 RBI).

Gammons on Sox trade talks
The one unfortunate problem is the Sox do not have the ability to increase the payroll much because they are over budget. That leads me to believe that when KW says he wants a left handed bat with some pop, that he feels that bat is currently on the roster. I have a strong feeling that Ross Gload is that bat and that he plans on moving or at least trying to move Konerko for pitching help. The problem is it will be tough to get a quality pitcher for Konerko because of PK's contract. However if the Sox give up a solid prospect and take on a good pitcher who has a bit of a contract, it may just be a possibility. The other potential bat is Jeremy Reed although I don't see him up here quite yet. I also think Jose may very well be on the block. So if you ask me, Jose and/or Konerko will be on the move for a starting pitcher and I think they will then move Gload to the starting position at 1st and then eventually add Reed for cf, imo.

Mountain Dew
Ya they are yelling across arguing and of course homer is going up one to piss and its out of order so he has to go up the other one. That was a hillarious episode and I'll take the crab juice. Its also funny that sperm count thing is still going on. I remember hearing that just after mountain dew came out. Hell, I think that goes back to 6th grade. I used to like mountain dew back in the day, but I just don't drink that much soda anymore.

An Early Prediction
Strong arm, although just recently is when he started making great strides behind the plate. I read in the school paper and he was talking about how much he's learned this season since he's dealing with a very young, inexperienced pitching staff. He's about 5'10 and cut (good strenght). He's Hawaiin, not really relevant, but everyone brings it up in every article I've ever seen on him in the school paper. He's also going to likely win the Big West player of the year. I think he's got the tools to be a good to above average defensive catcher and offensively he's just starting to reach his peak. By the way, welcome aboard Chris. Your minor league and major league knowledge will definately be a great addition

Yofu Promoted to Charlotte
Nevermind, your write, unless Pacheco is about to come back off the DL. Thats odd then, I'd of left Ulacia up their. I wonder why they didn't have Yofu just go up immediately if thats the case.
