Syracuse upsets Maryland 72-70 and they are going to the Sweet 16.
-
STANFORD LOSES The guy on Bama misses 2 free throws with a 3 point lead and Stanford goes down the court and shoots the 3 but he bricks it.
-
Damn the Syracuse Mayrland game is looking close too. s***, why doesn't CBS go split screen. One game is within a point the other is within 3 points.
-
Eh...I've already made my rant on this on my blog. Pac 10 just sucks and now Stanford will be going out. Hopefully St Josephs is next. I really f'd up my picks this year, lol.

Not horrible cause I'm assuming they could deal him. Drew Rosenhaus is a freaking prick. He just plays teams to screw them.

The New Official Post a Pic of Yourself Thread
Chisoxfn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in How Does That Work?
Kind of a crappy picture, but I'm the one on the right. Its all blurry cause I had to scan it in. Good old disposable cameras. -
Also to add to that, the Sox did deal Ray Durham, Sandy Alomar, Kenny Lofton, Bobby Howry in 2001 (I think thats when it was) after the team was incredibly dissapointing.

f***ing Gonzaga...I guess I'm out.

Well by blowing them up, I can guarantee you if the Sox lose they will move Ordonez, try and move Konerko, let Koch walk, let Elo walk (they'd probably trade him at midseason), and try and move Thomas. This would open room to give the youngsters some gigs and the Sox would have a ton of money off the books. The past few years the Sox haven't had to blown up, the team has been in a solid position, but you only go so long with a losing base. If the core players can't get it done, then adjustments have to be made. Its hard to say what will happen, but if the Sox suck this year, I don't expect much anyone with a contract back, unless they are young and signed affordably long term as well as playing good. Plus with Reed, Borchard, Sweeney, Anderson, Honel, Wing, Rauch, and others all on the brink in the next year and a half (Albeit, some of those players would be rushed) I could see reason for the Sox to do it.

Anything that brings Kipper back to the South Side, I'm for.

Lets look at it this way, their rotation is better. You can argue all you want, but I'd take the Cubs rotation on the Sox any day of the week. I'm just going to tell it like it is. Wood is definately overrated and I am not a big fan of Clement. He was so inconsistent last year and I think he'll be even worse this year. And their offense is as right handed dominated as ours. The difference is, Prior has all the things necessary to be the best pitcher in baseball, we'll have to see if Elo can do it another year. I love Buehrle to death if anyone wouldn't rather have Prior...then I just don't know what to think. I take Buehrle over any of the other Cubs starters though, that I will do, but not over Prior. And I am a Wright fan, but how you could take him over someone like Zambrono, I dunno. Zambrono has proven that he can be a sucessful starter in the majors...with Wright its all iffy, although I like him. Hopefully the Sox and Cubs can play in the series and the Sox can win.

everytime I think the Zags are gonna cut it to about 5 or 6, Nevada bounces back. I keep seeing Gonzaga get a little more energy in their step though.

Supposedly the Bears are offering a 2nd rounder for him. But thats according to PFT, which is usually garbage. I know Oguleyne has told Spielman he isn't going to play for a one year deal and the Dolphins I guess are capped out so they can't give him the long term deal he wants. He played his college ball at Indiana, so Chicago would be kind of like a return home for him. Who knows if they will do it, but they may not want the controversy. I don't think they get a 1st and a 3rd and the Bears wno't offer them up a 1st rounder.

Nossek should be a good advanced scout and I'll wish Harold the best. He isn't vocal but he's been around the game for a long time. He's a class act.
-
Well Manhattan is playing a good game against Wake Forest too. Tied up.
-
Screw you ..if this happens I'm done in the tourney. I have the Zags in the finals winning it all (Although I really think Uconn will win it all). Come on Zags...bounce back
-
Your going to tell me that Dan Wright is better then Kerry Wood or that Matt Clement or Greg Maddux. Same can be said for Garland and Scho. Now if Elo pitches like he did last year, I'd say he is the 2nd best behind Prior, but I'll wait and see if that happens.

Sweet stuff, thanks for the updates ChisoxFan

Why the hell do I have to watch the Duke game. Damn Seton Hall, first they beat Arizona, now they suck to Duke (Although I have Duke picked to go to the final four, I don't like them).
-
Damn if Xbox goes to 129, I'd be damn tempted to buy it, especially if the new systems don't come out for a while. XBOX is starting to become the best game console out there. When the next consoles come out (whenever the hell that is) I may just go with Bill Gates' product.

I'm not gonna jump off his bandwagon. I remember Ishii sucking horribly in spring for the Dodgers and Ichiro did the same his first spring. As a whole Japanese playesr have kind of struggled in spring and I think part of the reason is I remember reading how spring training in Japan is a completely different process. I do think his lack of a fastball could get to him, if he doesn't have control (but that can be said about anyone).

Ya, afterall Ozzie made him have injuries. Almost all the coaches have said the new attitude has been great. The coaches are going out to dinner together and everything is "team oriented". Just cause you don't like Ozzie, doesn't mean you have to blame him. I don't know whether Ozzie will be good or bad, but Nossek is staying in the organization, but has health issues. I don't think their is another meaning behind this. As far as the candidates. Fisk could be a high reward guy, but he could also be a total jackass looking soley to put himself first and that wouldn't be good. Torborg has tons of experience and while he wasn't the most sucessful manager, he does do some things I like and as a catcher (like Fisk) has a lot of knowledge that could help Olivo. I like Torborgs agressive style and he would fit in nice with Ozzie, especially with them being buddies. Its not like being buds would be Torborgs only qualification, cause he has plenty of experience and thats what Ozzie needs.

Here's my problem with Benson...their are better options. Try and pull Juan Cruz from the Cubs (not that I think they will deal him). Maybe go after one of the pitchers the Dodgers are dangling or one of the Angels pitchers. I mean I don't like Ramon Ortiz, but at least he's proven he can pitch in the AL and has been healthy, unlike Benson. I mean if the Sox are willing to add this type of payroll, why not add Urbina because that would instantly make this bullpen a hell of a lot better and be a way to compensate if some of the back end starters struggle, plus you don't have to give anything up. All I'm saying is the Sox would be a hell of a lot better off with Odalis Perez, Ishii, Juan Cruz, Jarrod Washburn, Ramon Ortiz or Ugie Urbina then they would with Kris Benson. And for the package being tangled, I would think we could get at least one of those other starters and like I said with the salary the Sox would be adding, they could get Urbina. So in short...screw Benson.
-
I'd try and get Cruz. I still think he'll be a legit pitcher. But Zambrono and Prior I take over Buehrle. Now that Wood signed that expensive deal, I wouldn't take him over Buehrle. Wood still has to get over that 14 win hump. Carlos is flat nasty and Prior is Prior. Wouldn't take Maddux cause Buehrle is better then him. There is a reason Maddux is going to stay in the NL, its because he knows he'd have an ERA over 4 this year if he was pitching in the AL. Plus, Maddux is near the end of his career, Buehrle is not.

Who cares, its preseason...who picked the Marlins last year, who picked the Angels the year before...who picked the Cubs being an out away from the series. Heck, weren't the Sox supposed to be GOOD last year. Screw it, the baseball players just need to go out and do their thing. If they play well, the Sox will be fine, the fans will come and I'm confident KW will add a piece or two. If they struggle, then screw them, the team will be blown up (at least some of the players) and we'll be in for a rebuilding period. Its just the way its going to be.
