  1. Thanks for the kind words Tlak
  2. Their was talk about a week ago that the Sox were going to go with 11 pitchers and that both may of maked it. I also had some quotes from Guillen where he talks about Burke and how he could pinch run if he carried him. I'd rather carry Drasnfeldt myself, he's earned it. But your right, neither of them may make it. I just realized the way I worded it, makes it look as if Burke is a lock for a roster spot.
  3. Thank god its almost over for the Bulls.
  4. Ick...its all hot, thank god I finally got out of the office where we are too cheap to run the AC. I like the heat, but this is just too hot for a spring day.
  5. Cubs may have Jesus, but the Sox got Zeus
  6. Sweet looking avatar
  7. I'd get rid of his horrible space idea and set that money to better uses, specifically researching for more efficient energy use as well as some implication of it. A close 2nd would be to get rid of the marriage ammendment and leave it up to the states. But the whole cap at a million idea..... :puke
  8. If the rest of their pitchers stay healthy, then they have nothing to worry about. Although I still can't figure out why they gave up on Cruz, but this guy from the Braves system sounds like he's pretty good, and a lefty, something they need. Prior, I'm assuming will be back in a month and a half and they have a solid team. I hate to say it, but with or without Prior they will be around this year...now if a few others go down, thats another story. Still, with Prior they aren't a guarantee to win the division, and without them they aren't, but this is probably the best Cubs team...possibly ever. So I don't have a problem with them picking the Cubs in the series, it could easily happen. Just like I thought the Sox could make the series last year...boy was I wrong.
  9. Scho should get the spot to start the season. I actually like the idea of cotts in the bullpen, think its a great place to come up without as much pressure as being the 4th starter and if one of our starters faulters, then he steps in. Cotts looked improved control wise this spring, but he definately still has some steps.
  10. Welcome back Heather
  11. Lol, I can't watch the Bulls anymore. They are so brutal. The past few weeks I can only muster to see about a quarter of the game. At least I like Pargo and Hinrich, but man they have a lot of players I don't like. Was talking about it on the sports board about how they are the worse Bulls team I've ever said (And considering the past 5 years, that says a lot).
  12. I agree, I think two minor deals go down, one involving Grilli and then one more, in my opinion for a pitcher.
  13. Could be that as well, but I can't think of a pitcher that would get sent, maybe Dennis Ulacia? He's really came out of love in the organization after having a breakout season about 2 to 3 years ago.
  14. I think if Neal has a strong outing the Sox may do that. But I think they will give Scho the first crack to suceed in the rotation with Cotts getting a little experience out of the bullpen and if either Wright or Scho falter then Cotts would step in. I wonder what the Sox will give Florida. I'm guessing you could see an outfielder moved, since the system seems to have so many of them.
  15. Grilli may be headed to Charlotte; Bullpen Situation By Jason Gage March 29, 2004 FutureSox.com There are reports that the White Sox are talking with the Marlins in an effort to reach some sort of compensation agreement for Jason Grilli. As it stands now, Grilli must be on the 25 man roster all season (or the disabled list) otherwise the Sox must offer him back to the Marlins for $25,000 (Marlins would give that money to the Sox). If the Marlins decline to buy Grilli back, then Grilli is placed on waivers. If a trade can be worked out, then the Sox would likely send Grilli to Charlotte (AAA) where he would be able to get a little more time. Grilli would likely be part of the Knights starting rotation. If this is the case, then Mike Jackson, Jon Adkins, and LHP Neal Cotts would be fighting for what looks to be 2 bullpen spots, as all signs point to the Sox breaking camp with 12 pitchers. Adkins and Cotts have had impressive springs, but Jackson is a veteran and Guillen seems to like the idea of another veteran reliever in the pen. Cotts, a starter, could be an insurance plan if Schoeneweis or Wright struggle in the rotation. Jackson spent last spring with the Diamondbacks before getting cut. He took the rest of the season off, while Jon Adkins spent most of the year with the Charlotte Knights, while making a few appearances in Chicago. Neal Cotts spend the majority of the season in Birmingham, but did collect his first major league win last season.
  16. Lol, I just got an article going up thats pretty similar to Cowleys. I swear I didn't see his before I wrote mine, lol.
  17. Ya, Grilli is likely going to be in AAA to start the season. I'm kind of thinking both Adkins and Cotts may start the season with the Sox, which definately surprises me, but both have pitched good thus far this spring.
  18. Sox Reassign Dransfeldt By Jason Gage March 29, 2004 FutureSox.com With spring training nearing an end and opening day a week away, the Sox made one of their final roster moves sending Kelly Dransfeldt to Charlotte (AAA). Dransfeldt was battling Jamie Burke and Ross Gload for whats looks to be the final roster spot. As early as four days ago, it looked as one of, if not both, Drasnfeldt and Burke would make the roster, but Ken Williams acquired Timo Perez as a backup outfielder. Dransfeldt is a utility infielder while Burke is a catcher, 1st baseman, and left fielder. He can also play 3rd base in a pinch. Dransfeltd had an outstanding spring, hitting .419 in 43 at bats. Burke hasn’t had near the spring, batting .222 with 27 at bats, but Ozzie Guillen likes the idea of carrying a 3rd catcher, because it allows him to pinch run or pinch hit for one of his catchers.

    Looks great Alex
  23. Well, after Gonzaga went down I said it would be Uconn over Okie State and I'm sticking to it. 3 of my final 4 are left though, which makes me happy.
