  1. Not so, Koch and Marte are his horses, you win or lose by them, especially on opening day. I'd say it would be different if it was a midseason game, but on opening day with a day off next, you don't worry about using one of your best relievers in that game. Plus, Politte is not a reliever that usually goes in 3 different innings. He through 1/1/3 innings and that was the 3rd time he'd had to warm up. I know that doesn't sound like much, but for a reliever I think he was simply gassed and his mechanics suffered because of it.

A friend of yours with a blocked number calling to make fun of you for the Sox loss. Or at least thats my guess. Restricted is like a blocked number I think. Sometimes I get them and they say restricted other times they say blocked, so I don't know what the hell the difference is.

I saw at least a few times him throw about 95 and he looked pretty fluid, it didn't look like he was over throwing. However on the double, he was definately over throwing. I loved the strikeout pitch, that was nasty, looked like a cutter, but DJ said it was an offspeed pitch.
  4. The Angels started awful two years ago, this is one game. It sucked horribly, but its still just a loss, the Sox need to look at it that way. Marte has been awesome, so he blows on game, the Sox can pick things up. And yes, it was a bad decision to hang with Politte so long, but he was pitching good. Get over it, we can't dawn on one day and I sure as hell hope the players aren't.
  5. Tremendous...of course it crashed the server, but that was awesome. This time the server will be ready...just had to break it in from all those new people
  6. Yep, that crashed the server. They quickly got it back up though That is insane. I noticed WSI went out too, and thats pretty rare. Awesome turn out today...too bad I can't say the same about the game

Koch looked pretty stinking solid in my book. His velocity was better then I expected and he had good control. He threw one fat pitch in the two batters he faced and it happened to be ripped for a double. I'm actually a lot more confident in him then I have been. Marte looked absolutely flat so I hope he gets healthy.
  8. One positive. It wasn't Koch that blew the game. It would of been awful if it was him in his first game. Marte has earned some slack, although from his first pitch I could see he looked flat. Lets get em on Wednesday.
  9. Hell ya Billy, awesome K. Not Marte, finish it off Koch made one bad pitch, but otherwise his stuff looked solid.
  10. Koch will be fine...have faith people...have faith.
  11. Alright folks...Koch is coming in and he's gonna be 1 for 1 in save opps by the end of the inning.
  12. Interesting, this is going to be his last batter. Koch and Marte are up in the pen. I think Ozzie wants to see what he has in Cliff. I expect Cliff to throw a good sinker and get the dp ball. Speaking of which, it should be great having a reliever that throws the sinker. Could lead to a lot of groundballs Passed ball there.
  13. I think the key to Willie's success will be going more to the short and 3rd so he can take better advantage of his speed. I think he will have a good year though.

  15. Now we ender the dreaded 9th.
  16. Lol, I said that in the chat room a minute or two ago...Were thinking alike Larry
  17. Amazing...Wheels with a stolen base
  18. Nice PK First hit a double to left Then a single up the middle and now a single to right
  19. Come on Paulie Walnuts
  20. Polittes 1st pitch was a 99 MPH fastball...holy hell.
  21. 2nd Inning Thomas singles Carlos Lee singles Konerko rips a double to right field (Scores 2). Alomar hits a 2 out 2 run homer 4th or 5th inning Lee hit a homer (Looked like he just missed it, but it kept carrying into the power alley). 7th inning Rowand singles and then hit and run and Alomar singles (Great play) and they 1st and 3rd to start the inning. Harris hit a line shot and they got doubled up. But Jose came through with a double and then Maggs with an RBI single (Sox scored 2 in the inning). Royals got an unearned run in the 2nd or 3rd and then Santiago hit a solo shot after a great at bat. They just scored on an Aaron Gile single and George Brett was going nuts (Damn him).
  22. That was comedy...Hawk was talking to himself cause George Brett's mic was messed up.
  23. In the chatroom, I called Maggs single too We were also saying how the Sox need to score a few more runs, then Buehrle in the 7th, Marte in the 8th, Koch in the 9th.
