Roids found at Bonds trainers house
Chisoxfn replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Doesn't necessarily mean Barry was using...although he was probably using. -
For a second I was gonna say...no turkey I'm going to my uncles house, but my dad is still cooking a small thanksgiving at home too so we have plenty of leftovers...yummm Like 15 relatives or so. Usually we go back to Iowa, but all I know is I'm gonna enjoy this week off of school and I am only going to work one day

I know I was missing it. I've decided Soxtalk is a drug and I'm hooked.

Well my thought is if Urlacher can't shed his blocks, then he is nothing special. I'm glad the Bears were able to get a pick for Ted Washington. Washington was older, past his prime and would of been a wasted player. Instead we get to see Alfonso Boone make huge strides and he will be one of our starting tackles next year.
-
I just look at the speed and athletism if the Bulls landed him. He's like Erob, but well healthier and a much much more honed player. Basically a much better version of Erob. Bring in Doc Rivers and I think you could see some really good things happen with this lineup.

Wow...I hope Mourning responds well to the transplant.

That was an awesome game. I loved Tillman's instincts of how he always tries for the strip, like when he went for the sack on Jake, who switched the ball to his other hand like half a second before. Gray can freaking lay the wood. He's gonna be good and I'm glad we have Green around too. Great depth to have. Brown isn't playing near as good though and I think that Briggs is the best linebacker on the team right now. Urlacher is doing alright, but he's missing that explosion and he's missing a lot more tackles. Holdman played really good today, looked a lot quicker and Abrown made a few nice plays as well. Azumah looked nice and as always was a sure tackler and made some big returns. And looks whose back...Paul Edingers back!!!!

Last year that was the case, but this year he's really adjusted his game. He's ony 25 and is an absolute stud. He has the ability to create, something jalen does not and he is a good passer and a great athlete. The Bulls could really run with him at the 3. Defensively he's really been improving over the past year and a half and he's a much better defensive player then Jalen Rose. Just look at this years numbers, 15.5 ppg, 5 apg, 5 rpg. Cleveland just has so many guys that play at a similar position. I'm a huge Ricky Davis fan. He can be the go to guy in a game if needed, but as long as we have good coach, he'll be fine not being that and playing as a team. The Bulls need to get back to their routes and go with athletes and out run the team and improve defensively, but on offense move the ball. That will wear opponents out.
-
I think this move was expected to happen along with the Jalen deal, but talks broke down. I do think Jalen is a good player and would fit well with Vinsanity. I hope its Doc...is George Karl a possibility? BC had to go. He had the worse rotations. I was always pissed the Crawford wasn't playing and Pippen was always out there. The Bulls kept playing a half court game, when they are a better full court team. Hinrich, Crawford...speed the tempo up and run.
-
It depends on what Boston offers him. He's definately valuable, but at the same time, the Sox may put their money elsewhere. I like Graffy a lot though.
-
Most likely, the funny thing is Jim Duquette was supposed to have full power. He thought that 3 mill difference was a bargain to get a good closer cause Peterson and Howe are convinced they can fix Koch.
-
It seems like the trade has broken down, but man would it be sweet if the Bulls were able to unload him. I'm not a big fan of losing Donyell Marshall, but Rose isn't a good fit with this team, neither is Pippen as far as I'm concerned. The Bulls need and should be a running team. The last parts of the Sacremento game were beautiful watching Curry, Chandler, Crawford, Erob, and Hinrich run the floor. They weren't playing starters, but over a full game if they are in shape they will wear an opponent out. If I'm the Bulls I'd do this 3 way: Bulls trade: Donyell Marshall, Marcus Fizer and Jalen Rose (If Needed Eddie Robinson; For Cap Purposes) Raptors trade: Antonio Davis, MoPete, Michael Bradley Cleveland trade: Ricky Davis plus a capfiller if needed Bulls recieve: Ricky Davis, MoPete and Michael Bradley Raptors receive: Donyell Marshall or Marcus Fizer and Jalen Rose and Erob if they need the cap filler Cleveland receives: Marcus Fizer and Antonio Davis, giving them the big men they need. They may prefer Fizer though. I just know Cleveland wants to get involved. They could be the team that receives Erob and Fizer, although cap wise I don't think that would work. Either way I know its a rumored deal and that would be awesome. Davis is what the bulls need, a guy that can slash and create his own shot. The Bulls would also get Bradley whose a good low post player and still young. Basically the Bulls and Raptors get what they are rumored to get, but the Cavs get some help by unloading their logjam. New lineup Hinrich/Crawford Crawford/MoPete/Kendall Gill Ricky Davis/MoPete/Scottie Chandler/Bradley/Baxter/Blount (He could go instead of Fizer if teams prefer it) Curry/Bradley/Baxter (I must be forgetting someone)

That is S-W-E-E-T. Thanks a bunch! Hey Show, can you reupload my sig. I never did save it to my CPU. Thanks man! What I think I'm gonna do today, as long as I get access to our old server, which I'm supposed to. Then I'm going to upload the recent files only. This way I keep a lot of stress off the server. But by uploading the recent files, all the recent posts/sigs/avatars and all that stuff should be back to normal. Then I can pull the smilies off their and we'll be set.

If he sits around, I could see the Sox coming back offering a similar deal to what they offered...more up front money, if not all of it, but a little less cash. I do think Bartolo wouldn't mind coming back here, but the west coast would be nice for him too. The Angels will have a lot better of a rotation if they add Colon along with Wasbhurn, Escobar, Ortiz and Lackey. Too bad they will be paying Sele and Appier a combined 20 mill this year...add Erstad and Salmon at 8 a piece and you have 36 mill between 4 players, only one of which really plays all the time...all of which are grossly overpaid.

Almonte is one of those guys that when he's 28 or 29 (Not too far off for him) will make it up to a team and have 2 or 3 solid/good years.
-
First off, welcome aboard. I've kind of felt all along that Colon's price tag would stay near what the Sox offered him. I had faith that the Sox would sign Colon and most of that left after negotiations stopped. The market is rather soft though. I think the Angels are the one team that could sneak in and grab Colon. Him playing in Anaheim could be a way for Moreno (A latin american owner) to find a way to market the Angels to more latin fans, adding a new fan base to all the new fans that came out last year after they won the season. If the Sox bring Colon back, then I think they have a rotation, as long as they work on the bullpen that can take them deep. Guillen's offensive difference as a manager or what I think will be a difference will lead to a lot more "created" runs, although we'll probably run ourselves out of some rallies too. But that creating style will be very effective with good pitching. For some reason, recent reports show the Sox willing to spend some dough. They are seeing prices drop for some players and they now know if they cna unload one or two guys to fill some areas of need, then they COULD get Colon back and have Tejada or Matsui as our new shortstop with Jose at 2nd or Jose moved elsewhere and someone else at 2nd. Its going to be really interesting though.

From what I've read recently, Sox are gonna be getting a lot more agressive out there. I have no idea whether thats true, but you are right, it all depends in they can clear cash. I think they want to move Lee and Konerko for pitching and then resign Maggs, who has now turned down a backloaded 3 year deal with deferred money. Their are reports from Peter Gammons that the Sox plan on moving Jose Valentin to 2nd base, which could mean the Sox are interested in Matsui or Tejada. My guess is, if Tejada's price falls far enough down, Sox will move Carlos Lee or whoever to sign him. I'd rather pay Tejada 6 or 7 mill then Carlos Lee, soley because its much more valuable to have a shortstop that can do what Tejada can then a leftfielder that can do what Carlos can. Plus Carlos can net you something very good in return. Hell at the very least the Sox are exciting me.

Ya....Ian did an awesome job with it. It kind of relates to both the stadium and us going to the new server.
-
A deal was reached and Koch was going to be dealt for David Weathers, but then the Mets owner nixed the deal. Would of been a good move if you ask me. I still think that deal could go down or a variation of that deal.

I have to go through and change a lot of the settings back to what they used to be. I did a fresh install of the board and then dumped all the database into it. This should give a lot cleaner coding. Were also going to be a lot more careful from now on when we add code to the board, because at times it will put a lot more pressure on the server and until we move to a fully dedicated server (Which is in the plans...this company offers them at a fair price, so in the future thats gonna be our next move as the site continues to grow).
-
Ya, I just got it.
-
Oh ya, I shoudl mention all uploaded images are off the server from previous posts, so you'll have to redo those. Sorry, about that, but thats something I didn't move with because of the massive size. I will try to do that sometime this week if its possible.

Its been a very long week, but Soxtalk is back on action on a brand new server with 24/7 tech support via an 1800 number. Its taken a long time and a lot of work but I think things will be freaking awesome on this new server. We were kicked off of our old server because the site grew to big, but we never recieved info informing us of that. There are still some things that won't be perfect, like some dead graphics because we still have to move some stuff from our old server when I get access to it, which hopefully will be tomorrow. Thats why some of the smilies won't load. Anyway...thanks for sticking by us.

Gotcha...so you were performing a counter to his headlock?
