Palmerio is another good option. I think the Sox will take a vet one year type player that way they don't have to put up a huge financial investment. Palmerio probably doesn't have too many suitors, Dodgers were one of them, and at the Cell would put up decent numbers and provide the Sox with much needed left handed pop. I also see Spiezo as a possibility and an outside shot at Ventura, but I don't think they would want him as anything more then a utility guy. As far as Roberto...he can go to New York or somewhere else. I don't want him here. I'd rather see the Sox go after Adam Kennedy for a few mill (Reports are the Angels want a ss and will then non tender Kennedy, although he may be a FA, either way letting him go and moving Eckstein to 2nd).

No,I think the money would go to bringing in one more pitcher (Millwood, Ponson, Colon) and that the Sox would still probably trade Ordonez if the right offer came and for sure would trade Koch if they can work something out. Williams wants to bring in a few relievers and have 5 good starters and thats where he wants to put his money. The key is finding ways to get money.

Spiezo is out of Anaheim. The Angels desperately want to add an outfielder so they can move erstad to first base, ending Spiezo's days there. Spiezo's dad was a White Sox and he's from Chicago. I think there is a very good chance Spiezo will be here and trust me...he is the definition of a "Grinder".

Agreed...then if needed move Carlos Lee or Magglio for salary relief to bring in some relievers and try to unload Koch as well. Then piece together some vets.

Perez will revert to two years ago form, where he still had an ERA in the 3's away from Chavez. Plus the Sox won't be asking him to be an ace and yes I think this improves the chances of Colon coming back because the Sox would likely save a few mill, although I will be shocked if its just a straight up deal. I'd think the Sox would be giving up someone else or at least cash considerations.

What the hell are the Expos thinking. They could of done so much better hten this. Vazquez is one of the best young pitchers in the NL and all they get in return is Nick Johnson. Johnson is good, but he's a good position prospect, not quite the best either. This deal is absurd considering the importance of pitching. And Juan Rivera is over-rated. This just pisses me off. Minaya pisses away a valuable pitcher and gets a first baseman in return. What a joke of a move...just like the Colon deal, he could of done better then what we gave him. Well on the plus side Colon is now gonna go to the Sox or Angels, unless another team jumps in and hte Phillies have pulled their offer off the table and Millwood now has limited options. I think the Sox end up getting one of those two and Odalis Perez. And if that happens I'll be hella excited.

Thats just the way the new format is. I didn't know that it used to do that, but the new board format (Not really different, juts cleaner coding did it that way). My best guess is its because it uses one less query, which means one less thing for a person to upload, meaning a little faster load time.

Thats definately the plan. Although I've also been thinking of having a smaller banner and then some type of revolving feature with a graphic on the top, but not sure yet. Gonna fiddle with that. I'm looking forward to getting it back rolling. I'm gonna probably get the site looking near ready by the end of Xmas break and then I'll put up another sneak pick This time I want the site to go up looking awesome. I rushed the last one up, because I started the site right around the same time as the draft so I figured that would be a good time to get it rolling. Ya, you are going with the generic size. In your avatar settings change the size to 120 x 106 and you should be set.

On the left side I'm gonna have a menu bar simliar to the former FutureSox. And on the right I plan on changing the background color to black with white font. This way you have Gray, White and Black all involved. It may not be the minor league colors, but the goal of all minor leaguers is to one day wear the major league teams jersey. In the downloads area, I plan on putting up all the videos I made from our past road trip (These videos have yet to be shown...taken from Winston Salem and Kannapolis, although there are photos from Charlotte as well) and then videos from the Southern League/Carolina League All Star Game. The quality is just alright on all of these because I'm simply using my folks digital camera but its pretty cool either way. In the future I'm gonna try to find ways to get a lot more downloads as well as pictures of all players. Other future things we plan on having that weren't on the other site are player chats, although this is still in a very preliminary stage. Anyway the goal is to have FutureSox up by March at the latest with our pre-season Top 50 list. There will then be a Mid-Season top 50 and a Season End top 50. We will also do a draft preview, going over some of the top prospects as well as some of the Sox organizational needs. And then a draft review as well, much like last years. I'm also going to work on working out something where we can use boxscores and since the site is non profit try to work some type of deal out with the minor league box score people to allow us to use them for free (Fingers Crossed). Alright, I'm working on developing the new futuresox and was going to see what people think of the early stage looks of it and was going to see what suggestions people have. I still have a lot of work on the left side and right side, but overall I think the color scheme is solid (Although ya all can tell me if its not). I'm also gonna do some things with graphics at the top and still am working on doing some things to the database. Its kind of similar to the previous version, but the one difference is I think the articles are much easier to read. This is also using a much better coding base and has an even better database, one that I'm gonna be customizing slowly for a while. As ya'll can see I'm still behind on this. Gonna finish it though...just got to upload the pics. I've been thinking of ways to kind of reward the creators, like giving them some sort of custom graphic under their member name, but I'm not sure if I can do that with ease or not.

Ok, I found it for you gash. The new search feature is pretty sweet. Took me about 20 seconds...gonna put it up right now, then get my ass off to get some sleep.

Go to the bottom of the board and where it says by the last 30 days, change that to since the beginning and then all the posts will appear. You may also just want to run a search of your posts in that forum...could make it a lot easier for ya.

That works too. I should also mention that the help board posts are still around. I think I merged the help and testing posts all into hte same forum, so you could probably still find the resized one as well if you happen to know where it is.

Gash, I can, but I need your help. Just give me the link to where you originally made the post (The picture doesn't need to show up, but I need to see the dead image and with that I can go and find the file and upload it to the new server. I can do the same for anyone else as well. Just make a post in this thread and give me a link or even better the properties of that certain uploaded image you want back. If a lot of people want somethings back its no biggie, it will just take me more time. I'll do it on a first come first serve basis and well Gash...your up first

I know since I moved the server those that had uploaded avatars and sigs now don't work. So if I see a user with one I'm gonna go in and remove it, so people don't get the broken image. Also, everyone is more then welcome to put new ones back up. I would of restore all the avatars and sigs, but when I saw the list of uploaded files, it would of been impossible for me to of uploaded all the files necessary. So if you happen to know that your avatar or sig is just a dead link, please remove add a new one up as it will save me the time of going through and removing them. The only reason I'm doing this is to make the posts easier to read as well as faster loading, because when you have dead images it can slow down the loading of some. It doesn't effect most people, but for those with slower connections it would make a minor improvement Just wanted to inform you all

The stat program on the new server...webalizer or something. It only lists the 30 most popular countries but says there is a total of 44. Of course some have only had like 10 or 15 hits, but one person viewing every week or so is basically what it takes for something like that. I was shocked to see that it. I knew we had a lot of people from Canada (U, Matthew, Supernuke) and JOSH PR (Puerto Rico) as well as Rafacosta from Brazil and DBAHO and others from Australia. Its pretty cool though how so many people can follow the Sox from afar.

And well Soxtalk is well known world wide. I never knew this, but we have 44 countries represented from visitors of this board. I thought that was overly cool. The coolest country I could see on the list was Estonia. And Australia represents the most hits from people outside of the US. Germany, Canada, and Brazil are just behind Now if only JR would pay for us all to fly into Chicago to catch a Sox game. I'm thinking we could help in the attendance

I really don't think him upping the payroll 20 mill would immediately bring it back. If the Sox were to produce and go to the series, then maybe it would...but even then I still think its a few year reclamation project to get Sox fans back.

I'll still go to Spring Training, buy the XTRA innings package and watch each game they play in Anaheim.

Why not the Sox. He's a big name, most likely can be had for about 10 mill less then he made last season and is still a front line pitcher when u need it (Such as the playoffs). Plus the Sox only have to invest one year to him and maye an option year.
