I think he wants to win, but at the same time he wants to be able to score. His strength is his ability to create the shot and make others better by doing that. When he drives he can make some amazing passes, but BC benches him when he does that. To set up the drives he needs to take some jumpers and he's one of our best shooters. If you let him play in the offense, he will take smarter shots, but at times he forces it because he gets frustrated from what I can tell. I definately think he wants to win. But if giving JC up gives the bulls the amount to land a max FA this offseason, then I'd do it (By including JC in a Rose trade).

I really like Crawford. He can make so many things happen. I just think he needs to be told that he can play in the offense. For some reason it seems like he tries not to shoot, then he's like, ok I need to score some points so he goes for it. I just think BC never let his guards get involved in the game so they end up getting taken out of it and then start to take things on their own. I love JC's ability to pass, create the shot, and he's a great shooter. Defensively your right, but defense is an attitude and I wnat to give Skiles that chance. No one is playing defense, so I have to think some of this has to deal with a lack of discipline from BC. I like BC a lot and hope he's back involved with the organization. He's a class guy, but I think he was too nice to be a head coach of a young team.

Todays game was the most half ass, pathetic play I've seen in a long time. This team has absolute no energy and its why they suck ass on defense. And Jalen Rose needs to be benched. he just stands in the corner of hte court unless he has the ball and he let every guy he was guarding cut to the rim to get an easy lay up. This guy absolutely blows. It will be addition by subtraction when they dump his ass. Chandler played awesome though. This team needs a real attitude adjustmetn and Skiles kick ya in the ass style will be huge. I'd say those that don't play defense, get benched for the rest of the game and make a freaking point. If they continue then ship their asses out. Oh ya, I'd like to see the new coach give Erob more time and let him take some shots, give him a bigger role.

My first maneuver would be to tear down the Urinal and build a stadium that is all UPPER DECK. Just to make the Sox look extra good. But I would need lots of bullet proof vests.

Its a great way if two people can't or don't get along to ignore eachother. It makes both happy and it can prevent future problems between the two people. Its not a way to force people to do it. I bet most people wouldn't use the ignore.

I can't say that sitting around is a bad thing in this market. Prices keep dropping and players are gonna have to get on the offensive. The thing is I'd like to see KW at least move the salaries so he's in position to be on the offensive when the time is right.

He fell out of favor with Tracy and a lot of Dodger players. He made comments about them not giving it their all and how Tracy is just accepting it and it really upset some people in the organization. Basically he was saying the truth. Perez has a lot of heart and has an attitude when people around him don't try to help him out. -
IF we deal him to the Dodgers, I'd expect Mota and one of their top 2 prospects as well.

Could you imagine if the Sox just said screw it...bring in two aces, get a few stud relievers and then deal the bats for productive cheaper players, no superstar, just a lot of solid players that all around are good.
-
Me too...at the very least he could be a nice signing for the Knights. We know there is absolutey nothing that will be moving up from the middle infield that will be all that helpful for the Knights, one of my favorite minor league franchises I noticed Guerrier was gone, while we still have Marte and Yan. That has to be hands down KW's best deal and if Yan turns into the next Castillo...WOW.

Its a team effort Mike...you now haev all of soxtalk willing to help Well as long as it helps us get Tejada...if it helps us get Arod, I'll buy ya a girl

he is a good writer. I'm making a mental note.

Well I know you can ignore all avatars if you go in your control settings. As far as the ignore feature, still working on it. We won't be doing anymore custom coding because frankly we aren't good enough at it and it leads to errors down the road. But when something is built for these boards and won't have a negative effect on the board, we'll definately do it. I think an ignore feature will happen sooner then the ignoring of avatars and sigs and that stuff. We will always have our eyes out though for cool things to add.

Ya, it is a 2 team deal. THe Dbacks hope to get a deal done for Sexson, but nothing is immenent. The Dodgers and Dbacks seem to be the two suitors for his services. -
This is a great move from the Cubs standpoint and the Marlins. Choi is a good first baseman, one who is major league ready, imo. The one problem I see with the Cubs is they have all righties. As far as the Sox go though, this is great cause the Dodgers and Orioles can compete for Paul Konerko's services

I'm very confident that one day I'll have the resources to at least buy part of a mlb team. And my method will be to invest in real estate.
-
I like Millwood too, and if I knew the sox would take the 3 or 4 mill they saved (if thats the case) and put it elsewhere, then I'd say have at it. Colon is pitching in a more difficult league though.
-
My Wish List Starting Pitchers - Bartolo Colon/Sidney Ponson/Andy Pettite/Kevin Millwood - A 5th starter Relief Pitchers - Unload Billy Koch - Bring in two good relievers (Sully, Hawkins, Hasagewa, etc) - Bring in 1 vet reliever (Osuna) Outfielders - Trade Maggs and whoever for Soriano and Nick Johnson (Stick Soriano in center) Infielders - Miguel Tejada or Kaz Matsui - Unload Paul Konerko - Move Jose to 2nd if they have the money or trade him and get Izturis and Tejada
-
Last season we did something like this and I remember I really wanted Ponson via trade and other people had other guys they wanted. This is kind of a thread where you can say whether you want this guy or that guy. Doesn't have to be realistic or it can be realistic, just a way to say, this guys gonna be good or he'll be a great pickup. Last years thread took off and was one of the longest in Soxtalk history so hopefuly this years can be just as fun if not more fun

I like the way things are shaping...and if somehow Sheffield spurns the Yanks, then I'll really be liking things cause it will ultimately force George to turn his efforts to Maggs. Its going to be a very exciting offseason, I truly believe that.

Exactly...I want to retire young. I agree with what you say. For example, If I was going to become a teacher, I'd be do it a little more kick back. Not because teaching is a lesser job, cause its not, its one of the most important jobs out there and teachers are vastly underpaid, at least the good ones are. But because teachers, this is me assuming, basically have to learn their curriculum and thats it, once you do that, you have your books and what not. The key is whether you have good teaching methods and have a good mixture of sterness as funness (If thats a word). Like I think someone that teaches kindergardners really just needs to be child smart, not really book smart. Either way, once I becoem a lawyer, if somehow their is a slim chance, I may one day make enough to somehow buy a share of a baseball team or get myself a gig as a high ranking executive, then I'll be really happy
-
Hey...I'd very much support that move. I wouldn't have any problem giving Wilson 1.5 or 2 mill. I know he pitched his ass of last year, but I don't see a team giving him too much money. He'd be a better investment then Scho considering what Scho will get.

The central is still weak and if the Sox sign Colon they definately have the ability to make it in the central, if not farther. Pitching can carry a team. The question is whether this team will play like a team. THe problem is, the more I think about it, the more scared I get that Ozzie Guillen is our manager.
