  1. I tend to be in your camp but media seems the opposite so they must know more than us. I do agree with dick. Bears don’t want to take risk of Mitch getting hurt and guaranteeing the money and franchise is not much more. Best case scenario Bears are franchising Mitch (because it means he played well). They let him play one more year or at least a chunk of one more year under franchise and than If he is still looking legit you talk big time deal (or can always use the franchise tag again).
  2. Greg - I'm the opposite; I think I spend 6-8 hours a day on the phone (technically skype or goto, etc). It is driving me absolutely mad. I hate talking on the phone or in the case of most of my day presenting via video conferencing, etc. That said, all that phone interaction is not the same as face to face, so I have actually gotten to know my neighbors pretty well as a result of this crisis. Pretty easy for us to sit in our garage / driveway and chat with neighbors over on the other side sitting in their driveway. My introverted ways usually make me just say hi & bye to the neighbors vs. have actual conversations (usually by the end of the day / end of the week I'm sick of all the time I've spent interacting with everyone at work - I spend most of my day in and/or leading meetings or being the guy who is trying to push things forward more aggressively) so I'm mentally spent and ready just to chillax with the familia.
  3. Are people not required to wear masks in stores, etc in your area. We haven't been able to go into a store without a mask for like 2 weeks. All the stores have people standing out front and turn you away without one. Most of the bigger grocery stores had masks available for people if they didn't have them as a courtesy (since the rule was new) but I think at this point everyone just knows it. I was surprised to see airlines are just now requiring it.
  4. If there offense is good - They are a top 6 team in the NFL; If there offense is okay - They are a top 15 team in the NFL. If their offense played like last year - They are probably a top 20 team. Only way I see them in the bottom 10 is if they have significant injuries to their defense.
  5. Solid depth move and nicely timed since it has no impact on comp picks.
  6. What is the point of shaming anyone. A lot of you are ignoring the fact that everyone is being impacted by this...everyone. Some worse than others but wow, some of you aren't willing to empathize with others as well.
  7. Yeah - Shaq would break any era of the NBA. The only reason he didn't break the NBA in the late 90's / early 2000's was because the refs were completely unfair in how they treated him. Dude was an unstoppable force and would be today, in the 90's, or 50 years ago. He was the most physically dominating player in NBA history.
  8. I just gave myself a trim on Sunday. Was nice. But I cut my hair on a pretty regular basis. Good ole #2
  9. The big piece of his game that never was able to shine with the Bulls was his playmaking ability. With Jordan, Harper, and Pippen having the ball so much. Think of them as point forwards, it limited Kukoc who could do those things and than some. I do agree, he would have been really good in this era of spacing. But I disagree with those who think he would have been a decent defensive player today. He just is not a good defender (in any era).
  10. He was spectacular. He had his chance to shine, however, I think his back didn't hold up and caused other issues. You are right though, if the Bulls were able to give him more ride in his prime and give him more primary ballhandling duties, it would have worked really well. He wasn't too volatile.
  11. Instantly upgrades the "relationship" aspect of the Bulls front office from the Gar Forman era. Guy has moved up everywhere he has been and has built brands for some former stars back in his Nike Days (Gary Payton, Steve Nash, Steve Francis). Supposedly good eye for talent as well but as a whole a very nice fit as he strikes me as the type of asset that can be huge at winning on the free agency front.
  12. Yeah he is serviceable. That isnt exactly a gold standard. It is why I don’t think Mitch is entirely forgotten and Foles is just for sure the guy. I don’t buy Mitch taking off but I could see him being much better than he was last year (after all he was the year before). Do I think he takes off...probably not but do I think he can be a serviceable qb...yeah I kind of do. I am pretty sure the bears have zero good qbs on roster but Mitch has more physical tools.
  13. Probably had to do with them on such different timelines. He is just so mellow and enjoying all the downtime and just chilling on the ranch while she is trying to grow her business and traveling all over place for appearances etc.
  14. Said another way...Foles is there to be the bridge guy if Mitch stinks. He can help bears be a mediocre playoff team and that buys Pace and Nagy time to get another shot at a QB. At least that is what I think they are both betting on. If bears make playoffs this year I think people feel better about Nagy and my guess is McCaskeys feel fine about Pace. It likely means a few of the moves this offseason worked too.
  15. I still would have signed Winston. He is a better player than Foles with more upside. At his worse he is middle of the pack (kind of like cutler). I get that he didn’t work with Arians but I see Payton might sign him to spend a year with him and see if he can take over for Brees. Bears are probably going all in on QB again in the next year. Foles isn’t a long term answer. He is a bridge to see if everything else works ok but Bears would still need to upgrade. Only way they aren’t taking a QB early in next two years is if Mitch steps up in wake of increased competition and so far I haven’t heard any indications that he is crushing it in film study etc. His issue is very much between the ears.
  16. He would be a good get for the Bears. Problem is he's a free agent at the end of the year (I think) and he's had injury issues. I presume Colts aren't "giving" him away, but if they would take a late day 3 pick I would be interested. On other thing is Hooker probably isn't the best compliment to Jackson. My guess is Bears are going to move Denmark to safety and let him and Bush compete for the spot (and maybe they will sign Tony Jefferson)
  17. I am content with this draft. I still expect them to make a free agent signing or two, probably at safety and maybe a Jason Peters type vet oline guy.
  18. I was surprised too. I get it, they have invested a lot in TE, but Kmet has the makeup of a totally complete TE. Something Bears haven't had in a long time.
  19. Absolutely agree. I expect they will trade into this draft with one more pick at some point. Probably Pace will dangle some pick from next year for a 3rd, 4th or 5th (or to move up). With him having a few compensatory picks expected, my presumption is he will leverage part of that to buy one more now. Man I really wish this team still had a 3rd/4th round pick. Just pains me what they gave up for Montgomery and Miller...would have been nice, especially knowing how deep this draft was at wideout (and to be frank, they could have gotten a better back than Montgomery and never should have had to move up to get him). I don't mind Montgomery but not one thing special about him (and I said those exact same things last year when they took them). That said, I complain about Pace more than most here and I absolutely was 100% content with both guys they acquired. Both were fringe 1st round guys and have ability to be good starters. I think pace would have maybe made a deal...but just not a lot of dealing in this draft (given the remote setup). I think they wanted Kmet pretty badly knowing how key TE is/was to the Bears system. And at least we didn't go with some DII TE. We took a guy who comes from a school that has produced some solid TE's.
  20. They could have 20 on the roster, if they are all crap, it doesn't matter. And to be frank, outside of Graham (who is mediocre)...they all STINK. I really do think the biggest reason this team and Mitch took a step back was the complete JUNK they got out of TE. No team was even close to as bad as the Bears a TE last year.
  21. What is wrong with Kmet? You just didn't want TE? I think I have been on record as saying I would take at least 2 (TE/WR), if not 3 in this draft. I would like us to move down with the next pick. I wouldn't draft CB this year...would try and get a vet signing (vs. using an early pick...think the draft grades are better on the wideouts). Delpit wouldn't be bad though (as I don't have a major issue taking a safety...better relative chance of them delivering vs. a CB). If I did go CB, I'd go with Jaylen Johnson.
  22. I can't complain about this pick. Critical position in the Bears offense and Graham is just a short-term need. They need to massively upgrade. I just hope for once Pace is right on evaluating TE.
  23. What is this related to?
  24. I was going to say Packers going for a QB and they did.
  25. MJ and Reinsdorf get along. IN case you didn't know it, JR took Michael under his wing and they speak a lot about owning franchise, etc.
