  1. Nor do I know why Manuel didn't bunt with Alomar to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Nor do I know why he plays Jose vs Lefties or the fact that a terrible hitter like JOse has stuck in the two hole so long. Carlos has solid speed, draws a heck of a lot more walks then Jose and is way more talented. He better permanently stay in the 2 hole. JM needs to stop jerking guys all over the place after they produce.
  2. Well you heard him and DJ ripping Manuel. They were both commenting on how stupid it was not bunting with Alomar and I couldn't agree more. Jm is just sitting hoping for the homer and for once it happened, but that doesn't mean he did the right job managing.
  3. CW, anything is better then having Jose in the 2 hole. He is crappy, he shouldn't be a starter, let alone a 2 hole hitter.
  4. I agree completely with ya Clu. Konerko is the first guy I'd move. I wouldn't move him for a firstbaseman either, but for a speedy centerfielder type or a prospect that is ready to contribute. Carlos Lee is the one guy I still like because of how hard he is working. Also, props to him for the grandslam. Thank goodness Jose wasn't in the two hole or we could of been in deep crap. Still, lets just notice it was the back of the lineup and the top of the order that did this.
  5. I'm with you. I tried to wait a long time before saying this, but it gets to a point where its no longer a slump. This team isn't in a slump, they are just bad. Not saying it isn't fixable, but changes have to be made. Like it or not there are people that will take the fall and the GM and Manager should be gone. Then some changes will have to be made. Sox will have to decide whether to go for it for a bit or to just put their guys up and do a firesale of most of their players.
  6. Its all good, like I always tell you all, your always welcome here. I'll tell that to everyone, well all SOX fans.
  7. I talking about the SOX, and people saying it is still SO early , with is all BS Its not early, I can't say this more often 2 months isn't a slump its a Trend. A trend means we freaking suck right now. No more excuses, this team blows. The reason they blow, they play bad baseball. This team has freaking horrible fundementals and no team can overcome that or at least not many.
  8. That will be your position Cerb. Your becoming my minor league Guru with Fontaine. Fontaine is a genius and your a young minor league guru, so he can teach you plenty
  9. I'm not only talking about the Sox either. I do wonder has any team ever stayed crappy for 2 months, never made any changes, and all of a sudden become one of the top offenses in the majors all in one season? I don't freaking see it happening. I mean its possible if you had a bunch of stud prospects developing, but thats not the case with this team. We are mainly a veteran team offensively (With a few young guys in the back of the lineup).
  10. This is freakign disgusting. I figured I wouldn't be ready to take over as a GM until after college, but someone give me Reinsdorfs number, I'm sending in my resume
  11. Are you referring to Jose or the Sox or what? I've been saying Jose stinks ever since we got him. Even in 2000 I was never a fan of his. I have problems with the entire building block of this team. The organization never seemed to preach obp or fundementals with their position players (At least under the Schueler regime). Damn it, its now 1-0 Tigers on a Higgy homer. Or I think it was Higgy. Higgy is a damn good player. I'd trade Konerko's salary for Higgy's. Higgy is a much better player then Konerko, all around. Damn it, thats back to back homers now. Also it was Kevin Witt who hit the first one. Eric Munson with the second won.
  12. Jim, that makes way too much sense for this organization.
  13. JM should of said, "To Say I'm somewhat concerned would be an understatement. This team isn't lifeless but they aren't producing. I can't blame myself, and I can't blame an individual player. This is a team effort, I'm part of the team and were all failing to do our jobs. If something doesn't change we'll all be out of work, and I'm gonna start by stepping down as manager of the Chicago White Sox. I hate to do it, but this team needs a spark and I have had no such luck. I love these guys and I love the experience I got here, but I just haven't gotten the job done"
  14. Right now there is no way I sit Daubach, every time he is up he is hitting the ball hard. You don't bench guys like that. What does JM know about that though, he benches Jimenez one of our best hitters against lefties while letting Jose, who absolutely sucks against lefties (and righties in my mind), face them.
  15. Can the Sox buyout Thomas's contract at the end of the season? They really need to start things over - A BIT. Keep Magglio, Olivo, Jimenez, Crede, and Borchard around offensively. Keep Marte, Glover, Wright (if he can prove himself), Buehrle, Garland (If he can prove himself), Colon, Loiaza (This is a tough one though; If he is dominating at his salary he could be the most valuable player in the majors when it comes to trade bait and you have to wonder if he will keep it up). If in a month he is still dominating, I have no doubt that the Sox could get any teams top prospect and still more. Colon could do the same thing. I don't want to see Colon go cause he's an absolute horse. In my mind Colon goes if the Sox want to use next year as a rebuilding year and then spend money that offseason. If they want to dump guys and cut money now and then use that money to replace players in the offseason then you should sign colon. Then mix in some of the youngsters like Miles, Rauch, etc and give them all a shot over the rest of the year and see what they can do. I guarantee we could and some top notch talent for some of these guys. Carlos still could get something valuable while Konerko is very hard to trade, but tradeable if the Sox take on a contract (Contract for Contract type thing). Thomas is immovable unless he picks it up. Thomas just hit a bomb - JUST Foul. If he picks it up then the Sox MUST move him. I love Frank, but he's not the fit for this offense. I'm sick of having slow immovable objects offensively and its time to use the DH right as a way to rest players and play role playing type guys while going with matchups.
  16. Right now the Sox have two things they could do. They could make some serious changes hoping to jump start the team while also trying to cut some payroll allowing the Sox to sign Colon to a long term deal NOW. Or they could sit still and hope this listless offense turns things around. I'm young so I haven't seen as much baseball as some, but I can't remember a team having such a bad offense for so long and just turning it on during that same year without any changes made. This doesn't have speed to make up for slumps and thats why this team isn't built for the long haul. Fast teams that play defense stay out of losing streaks and in turn can play .500 ball when terrible, and when they are good they can absolutely dominate. Plus in the playoffs, when your up against the very best you have to manufacture, play defense and pitch to win. The Sox can do the pitching (I strongly believe that), but they lack the offense and speed to make up for it. We saw what the 2000 offense did in the playoffs and they were way quicker then this offense. Ray was fast, Jose was way faster then he is now, plus Singleton had speed. I guess it wasn't really much faster, but the Sox were much more agressive then. Williams needs to start making moves. Billy Bean wouldn't wait and he's one of the few gms that I've noticed that isn't afraid to shake things up when they aren't working. Also, I have to say that I am now turning to the firing of both Williams and Manuel. I think Williams did a good job this past season, BUT, blame has to be given for the Sox failing as much as they have. I think Manuel and Williams should share in the blame and both take the fall. Then some serious changes need to be made immediately because these guys getting fired isn't going to be what it takes to fire this club up. This club isn't playing without heart, they are just playing like crap, and you play like crap for 2 months and your a crappy team in my book. Slumps only last so long, if it goes over a certain period its a trend, not a slump. To fix that trend, you make a change.
  17. When are his offensive numbers going to be too low for him not to make up his shoddy defense? Right as I said that he actually got a hit, his 999th of his career. Only reason I'm asking is because he always stinks offensively, yet people always talk about how good he is. People can say we won in 2000 with him, but that means nothing. Like we wouldn't of won in 2000 with a good shortstop not named Jose. Heck, we would of won with pretty much anyone at shortstop. How can people defend a guy that never has had a high obp in his career, strikes out a lot and can't hit lefties whatsoever yet Manuel continues to play him against lefties while sitting Jimenez (Hitting well over .300 against lefties). I'm sorry, I tried to stick and root for Jose this year, but he stinks. I've never seen one thing good about him other then his high avg with runners on base and this year thats far from happening. This guy is getting paid 4.5 million to play crappy offense while not being able to hit over .250 People always talked about how Royce would have terrible starts, yet last season I do recall Royce outhitting Jose for a while (Not sure if it finished that way) and that wasn't really all that late in the season when that was happening. I remember it happening relatively early. Again this year Jose is doing the same after a good week and a half to start the season. Who gives a DAMN what kind of a leader he is, He ISN'T a starter. He played for the Brewers and Sox those are hardly winning teams, so how is this guy a winner? He may have a great attitude but there are plenty of guys out there that have a great attitude and produce. Heck, why not let Graffy be the regular shortstop and see what he can do. He isn't worse then Jose defensively and he actually draws walk and has a high obp. Now I don't think Graffy can keep that up over a full season, but he's still a way better option then Jose. Why can't the Sox be more agressive, see things like this and move Jimenez to short and give Miles a shot. People can say thats a stupid thing to do, but as far as I'm concerned Jose isn't doing a damn thing anyway, so why not see if Miles can do something. If Miles can be productive and I know Jimenez is productive then the Sox would have a rather formidable 1-2 punch. Now I'm far from saying Jose is the only problem, cause one guy doesn't sink an offense, but he's a big part of the equation just as Konerko, Thomas (To a lesser extent; Even though his numbers suck he's one of the best on the team right now), Carlos, and anyone playing center (Not including Borchard). I could give a damn about what Olivo, Crede and Borchard do because you CAN"T count on things from rookies. You ask for them to play good defense and improve. I've seen plenty of improvement from Crede and Olivo and both are stellar defensively. They do things right where they can make up for their shoddy offensive performances by playing good in the field. Jose can't do that, Konerko can't do that, Carlos is damn well trying to do that, while Frank can't do it and Magglio (Although dissapointing is coming on strong as of late). You want to know whats wrong with this team, there is a lot, but lets stop forgetting that Jose makes a ton of mistakes defensively and can't hit his weight. Look at his numbers and the only thing impressive is the power and avg with runnesr in scoring position. Fact is I don't think that makes up for his crappy defense and absolute hole at the plate avg as well as the fact that he has a terrible obp and usually has just that.
  18. Mario, just know that my dad is telling me to tell you he said the Cubs would be doing better then the Sox. He is laughing at me everyday about it going you better tell him
  19. The Sox looked fine too, hitting into yet another doubleplay. Maybe they should do pushups everytime they hit into a doubleplay?
  20. Send 90 percent to the doc brotha........ Guess we'd better get a convoy of padded trucks filled with straight jackets to SoxNet's headquarters, eh? Hey, if your implying I'm nuts then, then - ahh shucks, free padding, how could I refuse. It could come in handy for that dumbass that tried pulling a jackass stunt jumping into the pool from a hundred or so feet high.
  21. My friends thought I was a jackass to say that, but I am so sick of this crap ass offense. Maybe Lee getting beaned will wake them up.
  22. Well as long as he's healthy, on the bright side it means we have the leadoff man aboard.
  23. Daubach just ripped a bomb, IF it was another foot fair.
  24. Geeze, that was ugly. I hope to god that only hit the the helmet.
