  1. Wow, Giants get two more touchdowns and have 28 in the first half. Man, Jim Fassell is another real good head coach. He doesn't really have that talented of a football team, but he has a good mind and calls awesome plays.
  2. If the Giants win, then I will have been perfect this round and will of been pretty stinking good on the College picks. Of course, I don't have any money on any of these games. I very rarely bet and if I do, its usually a small amount or something like lunch.

    Canada Vs. Russia

Over the years the US players should only get stronger. I notice more and more younger players playing hockey now. Its such an active and fun sport and people like the contact and such. Plus its so fun cause your so active. I know I always liked playing soccer and stuff, of course baseball was my favorite, but its completely different then a sport like soccer or hockey where your always moving (Something I enjoy doing) Too bad I stink at hockey, but the others, I can do. Murcielago is one of those really good hockey players, hopefully one day he'll make it to the NHL!!!!!!!
  4. The Rangers aren't the only team with extremely questionable starting pitching . I'll take our rotation over all the other ones in our division, except for the Twins. I'd also take it over plenty of other rotations in baseball. Its not that we have a bad rotation, its just it isn't exactly proven. It may be talented but you just don't know what to expect.
  5. Also, I'd like to really quickly tell welcome John aboard as a writer. That was a nice commentary you wrote, and I couldn't agree more. I love the idea of Colon of course, I always love the idea of getting a real good pitcher, the key is how much will it cost.
  6. That will be a great game against Tennessee. To me this year has been one of the better football season so far cause so many teams have been fighting, etc. Of course, it be a lot better if the Bears were in it. Tommy Maddux is awesome though. Former Avenger
  7. Giants and Niners are both playing pretty solid. Man is Shockey and awesome player. This looks like it will be a good one. The Giants have played better on offense but the score is tied at 14.
  8. Yep, legend will be 5,000 posts.
  9. I've been considering that. Was trying to think of something that could go between All Star and MVP or MVP and Hall of Famer. Nah, keep HOF at 2000. At 5000 you can have the top rank, legend. Like Babe Ruth and Paul waner are both HOFs but only Babe Ruth is a legend. Thats what I would do... I love that idea, I'm going to do that.
  10. I thought I fixed it. I took it down to just 15 seconds, but if needed I'll move it down to like 5. The one reason I like to have it just a bit, is it will keep people from accidentally double posting, I know I do that every once in a while.
  11. Almonte was in AAA last year. He did exceptional in AA two years ago, set the save record (Valentine then broke it last year) and Almonte moved to AAA last season where he excelled. This would be his 2nd year in AAA. He is definately going to get a shot at making the bullpen this year, and if their are any injuries, he'll likely be the first one called up.
  12. Hey Judy...when your doing the font and stuff, after you finish your typing, then hit close all tags, which can be found right next to the color icon. Then your posts will appear in color. I fixed the coding on the other too. You picked a real good player though. Herbert was an awesome guy, and a real solid player. He did the little things, hustled, and helped the Sox big time in 2000. One of the better waiver pick ups that I can think of.
  13. Well, that game definately made up for the lousiness of the yesterdays games, although the teams I wanted to win, did win.
  14. The Hawks represent everything evil in this world. Please, GO HAWKEYES GO. They almost upset Mizzu in basketball yesterday.
  15. He definately needs to improve his d. I don't really worry about that though, cause I Think he's going to be one of the premier big man defenders in this league in a couple years. He has speed, is gaining muscle, has great reach and leaping ability and has awesome ethic. This kid is going to be great defensively. I've always wondered what he'd do offensively, but I see him developing into a very good nba player.
  16. What an awesome comeback. I can't believe it. Man, the Browns choke more then any other team in the nfl. Niners are up early, after Terrell Owens made a huge touchdown grab. Owens is such a good reciever. "Sign O Trouble"

The one thing I like about Rauch is that he hasn't really been rushed. He shouldn't of started with the Sox last season, but they saved face, as they gave him more time in AAA and he's really had quite a bit of exeperience in the minors and is a pretty complete pitcher. If he's healthy, he should be up, but he shouldn't be back up until he's 100%. I liked his control, loved his curve ball, love his arm angle, and now its just time to see his fastball gain about 2-3 mph (Which should happen as he should be healthy after a good season back where he gained stamina, muscle, etc)
  18. If we could get Vazquez for someone like Liefer and a mid level prospect (or at worse Hummel or Harris) I'd definately do it. I really think this is an odd year and players don't have the value everyone thinks they do. If they make money, they can be had relatively cheap.
  19. Well, I believe if we dealt Lee and nothing else, it would be well worth it, but I'm really starting to think he can be had relatively cheap, as in Lee straight up or even just a couple middle of the level prospects. No one like Crede or Rauch or Borchard. If we were to move Lee, I wouldn't be totally against it if we got Colon, although I see Carlos blossoming into a real real good player this season. I really got to hope the Sox get things together this year and fans come out and JR can expand the payroll a bit next year. I do believe if the fans came out (Which will happen if they win, etc), and the Sox make the playoffs, things could just be right where we want them as Sox fans. Remember, now we have a better pitching staff then in 2000, and more of our younger guys are ready.

I definately think Rauch can be a true ace, thats why I never want to see us deal him. The guy is going to be phenomenal. I am so excited to see him pitch. I really believe he is going to be one of those kids that can make an immediate impact. I'm not saying era in the 3's, but low 4's throwing innings, winning a lot of games. I'm hoping he can burst onto the scene ala Freddy Garcia, Mulder, Zito, and Hudson.
  21. He had another game last night and is becoming a much better offensive player every game. Earlier in the week he had that 27 point game where he shot amazing from the charity stripe, and you can just see that he's gaining so much confidence in his moves. As his jump shot continues to develop, he will become a legit scoring threat. Afterall, he has extreme quickness to take it to the hole and as people start to respect his shot, it will make him so much better.
  22. I'd be all for 2 veteran starters, especially considering that it would probably cost something like 750k a piece, which is only 1.5 mill. Even JR's cheap self can afford that. Of course, maybe he really is holding out for Colon and hey, it could turn into a real good thing cause Colon's value has continued to drop.
  23. No problem. We'll have minor league coverage back up on Soxnet.net as the minor league season approaches. We started doing it late last year and it should only get better. I think we have a small writeup on him somewhere on the site, when we did our top 25 prospect list.
  24. I think they'll end up getting Person or Valdes.
  25. You have to think if the Browns go far with Holcombe, that they will try and move Tim Couch for a 1st or 2nd round pick. Its amazing how many backups have stepped in and played so well, and yet, with the Bears, they played so horrible. Giants will beat the Niners later.
