In that case he's done, but I'll still watch him.

I liked those reports. For those people out their that think our system is weaker, I got news, it isn't. I actually think we have a lot better prospects now then we did a couple years ago. Garland and Wells were good and all, but Rauch and Honel are way better, imo. Then we also have Malone whose got phenomenal potential and Diaz whose the same. We also have one of the deepest bullpen prospects in major league history.
-
I'd love to make a few trades with Evans, imo, he is much worse then KW. How about picking up Odalis Perez for Danny Wright
-
Well, I may of not complained about supposedly losing him (I swear he signed elsewhere) but its good to have him here, because if Hummell isn't ready then I'd rather stick Miles up here and see what he can do, instead of rushing Hummell.

Lol, better make sure I spelled it right in the database section.

I've been reading and wondering about this deal. So far It just don't make sense. What are the Mets offering to land Colon? We know Colon is going to go to the Mets and then Boston for Hillebrand but how exactly is he getting to New York. Hillebrand is way over-rated, and I'd say you could basically deal Colon for Lee straight up, thats if the Mets have any interest in Lee.

I like the pickup. Fick is a really good offensive player and he's coming dirt cheap. He has power from the left hand side of the plate and can hit for avg. At that money he was a bargain. Its too bad Jr couldn't spare about 5 million cause we'd probably be able to get Cruz Jr., Robert Person and Ismael Valdes or Rick Helling.

Ya, but I also think the Sox spend more money on the draft then almost any other team in the majors. Their scouts are well paid and taken care of. Sometimes you just can't get a guy. That guy does sound good, but what would that extra 500k of cost the Sox? Plus, maybe they were already giving him real good money and it was to the point that the Sox had kept stepping up. The White Sox aren't what you call cheap when it comes to signing their picks.

Eddy Curry and Jamaal Crawford to the Wiz for Kwame Brown? I'd definately do that deal. I think Brown is much better then Curry and although I like Crawford, this team needs just one pointguard, they can't continue to fight and argue. I guess the Wiz are sick of Brown and I think the Bulls are sick of Curry. Curry doesn't work hard, and has really been struggling.

I'm a big TO fan and I like a bit of cockiness and swagger, but for pete sake him and Shockey both need an attitude adjustment. They are both phenomenal players, but eventually enough is enough and to the Giants fact, all those penalties and egoes pretty much cost them the game. Well, that mixed with shoddy special teams play, etc.
-
I haven't heard of any talks going on between the two teams.
-
Well, along with owning the Dodgers comes the stadium and a ton of land around the stadium (enough land for a football stadium) so they could be of value. It makes sense though, it really explains why they are dumping salary and refusing to give players long term deals.
-
I'll see what I can do in both counts.
-
Still, wouldn't we of been better off taking on Millwood and his contract, while giving them Josh Paul and keeping Osuna, etc. That would of cost pretty much the same. I'd rather have Millwood then Pettite. Of course it is nice that Pettite has pitched in the AL.
-
No way would I do that. We'd be losing all our strength in the bullpen. I know some here don't like Osuna, but he's a quality reliever, and Glover is a stud reliever with a great future. Wunsch is our lefty specialist and I think he does a good job at that. Plus, the Yanks aren't looking to pick up salary, if we were to get Pettite, I think it would soley be us giving them a nobody and taking on the salary, ala the Millwood deal.
-
Thats the thing, from what I can see, the only thing that would make sense is Lee, and I don't know if I'd deal Lee for Ponson, because I believe Lee is on the verge. I do think we could try giving them Willie Harris back (They are supposed to be trying to trade Hairston), but after that I'm not exactly sure what they woudl be interested in doing.

The problem was how much the Sox would of had to pay Ritchie if they didn't agree to arbitration. Now that he's free, they can offer him a whole lot less. Ritchie wasn't worth 3 million (Someone check me on that because my mind is drawing me a blank right now, but I think that would of been about the min we could of paid him) Still, Todd will be better and it would be nice having him back. I've yet to here a distinct answer whether we can have him back or not. Part of me thinks we can, part of me thinks we can't.
-
Right now Helling could be our best option this side of Colon or Vazquez. Of course I still like the idea of picking up Sidney Ponson if the O's wanted to dump him, but they'd be nuts to do so.
-
I still can't believe the Giants blew that one. Unbelieavable.
-
Yes, because Anaheim brought in Appier and Sele, two seasoned and consistent veterans. Sele was one of the winningest pitchers the past 3 or 4 years when the Angels signed him and Appier was a solid veteran. The Sox didn't do that, but they could of.
-
Geeze, that was an amazing comeback. I can't believe the Giants defense blew this. Their offense just came out like garbage, but the Giants have a good defense, yet it didn't matter. Amazing comeback.

Colvin is a FA, I believe. And there's NO way I see him coming back.Gotta lock up cash to extend Urlacher. Definately...I want to find a way to deal Colvin for a first rounder or a 2nd and 3rd rounder. I think he's over-rated, plus I don't want to pay him 5 mill a year which is what it would cost. Give that type of money to Urlacher.
-
Well Wright and Garland should grow a bit. Last year they were pretty good and were basically our #2 and #3 pitchers. This year we won't have Ritchie stinking up the joint and if he is back it will be on a shorter leash, and healthy. We'll also have Rauch who I think will easily be better then Glover as a starter. Remember in 2000 our staff came out of nowhere. JB and Eldred had career years. The offense still is what carried that team and this years offense is going to be real good and is going to go up against plenty of bad pitching staffs.
-
This was one of the better articles I've read. He has some really good points and I do think we have one of the better all around pitching staffs in baseball, maybe even top 10, but at worse, top 15. We definately have plenty of holes, but how many teams have 5 starters. All I can think of are the Angels, Yankees, and Braves. The Phillies are on the verge of it, causethey got a lot of young talent as well. I'm probably forgetting some, but we still have a solid staff and a really good pen. I definately think this team should compete for the central and they could definately win it. Its a whole lot different team then we had opening day last year.
