SN Report: Lee for Lidle Heats Up; Rowand to have Surgery
Chisoxfn replied to Molto's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Rowand is decent, but eventually he should move in and become our 4th outfielder. -
Lidle for .... Mark Johnson??? Gammons Thinks So

Adkins really has looked bad down in the fall league. Tons of hits given up. I do think he could turn into a decent converted reliever, where he only goes through the lineup one time. Still it would be great to finally pull a good trade, where we rob the other team. IF this trade went down, I tell you one thing, even if MJ turned into a star, I'd keep my mouth shut cause I think all of us can say, we wouldn't of expected it. -
Ya, they probably will and screw up that great draft position.
-
The cartoons on the main site Jjav. It isn't really a picture of KW and it isn't offensive at all.
-
Well Rose for Marion no, we'd have to give up Crawford and probably Fizer and take on some salary I'd assume, maybe they wouldn't want Fizer and we'd have to give up a first round pick. As far as Dunleavy goes, that offer is what I read in a couple places as Golden State desperately needs a point guard and Dunleavy has nowhere to play their and has really struggled out of the gate. I happen to like Dunleavy quite a bit though and think he'd be an awesome pickup.

Now now, they will probably trade Neagle to the Cubs for Todd Hundley eventually.

Holy Macoroni this would be a brilliant trade on KW's part. Get it Done!!!! Of course I can't possibly believe that Billy Beane would do it, but MJ is a solid catcher and he was a first round pick, not that it means anything. The A's could use a catcher, I know that. -
I happen to like Rowand quite a bit simply because he's willing to be a team player. He is great at moving runners over, dropping the bunt and giving up his out for the benefit of the team. I don't think he'll ever be a star, but he's a solid outfielder, that hustles and works hard and could hit .280 and thats good enough for me.

SN Report: Lee for Lidle Heats Up; Rowand to have Surgery

I read over his injuries and he has quite a few of them. I think we will know more after results are back from his surgery, but you never know what happens. I am counting on Aaron being their, but who knows. -
Damn, that would be a very good move for them. Only thing is they supposedly are out of money. I also hear they are likely to trade Matt Williams for Larry Walker, another good move by them if you ask me, cause Williams is a bum.

Thats the way I see it. We have someone ready to step in For Lee or at least almost ready, but we don't have a real proven pitcher other then Buerhle and could use two more. -
Great hire by the Giants. I couldn't think of a more respected and better guy to come in and replace Baker, a great manager in his own regards. I tend to think Alou and Baker are very similar managers who are great at getting the best out of their team.
-
From what I heard today they offered over 100 million for the 3 of them, or something like that. I think Thome will command 15 mill, Glavine around 12 and Bell 4 mill or so.
-
Damn, can the guy even play hockey? Geeze, one thing for sure it will be hillarious to watch. I think Yao Ming or Shaq or even Shawn Bradley should hit the ice next.
-
Don't even mention his name. I will say only one thing abuot him, he's a true comedian. Damn that was the funniest couple minutes of football I ever saw.
-
I look at a lot of the posts and all they are test posts and they got deleted. Oh well, My lunch break is over, back to work, and then I can finally get home and relax cause I don't have homework for once.
-
Lol, very interesting. They aren't truly deleting the posts, they are simply hiding them.

I think Rowand will be ready and then harris is right their in case he's not. Manos can also play a bit of center as can Borchard so the depth is there. In left if Lee isn't their we have Liefer and Borchard as well. Of course that isn't near as solid and if Lee goes then I'd like to see the Sox sign someone to a one year deal to battle with Liefer for the job so Borchard can spend his time developing in the minors. In the infield we are fine depth wise. We have Harris, Graffy, Jimenez, and Manos as well as Crede and PK as well as Thomas. Then behind the plate we have 3 catchers. Olivo is the only one who has the shot of turning into something special, but the others are capable backups. They aren't capable starters though. In the pen we are pretty deep as long as we have a good closer. I think Foulke is one of the best in the majors and should stay their. If anyone else goes down we still have Almonte, Joe Valentine, Sanders, and Gary Majewski all waiting in the wings. Royce Ring is another guy on the cusp, but he still needs more time.

I think we have a very good lineup and very good depth everywhere but pitching. If we can land a #1 starter and then another #3 starter then we will be set to compete, even if we have a whole in say left field because we moved Lee. Borchard isn't terrible neither is Liefer and they may not put up the numbers Lee did, but they will at least put up decent numbers to the fact that we'd be by far and away better off to have extra starting. -
I hate spamming, but I am now going to start including the link to this site and soxnet in all the posts I make their. Oh ya, don't forget to tell everyone how great of a place this is.
-
Sounds like a good idea. Their may just be a new chatroom open by that time period if all goes right and I have time to complete the one I'm building.
-
To me our offense should hold onto Lee and Thomas till next season and then decide which one of them goes with Borchard stepping in the outfield slot and either Lee moving to DH or moving to another club. Then the Sox would also know whether Rowand can cut it, if he can't, I'd look at Jeremy Reed who looks to be a real good player who may just shoot through our organization.

I'm thinking Willie Harris and maybe just maybe if we also move Lee then Borchard will be up here to start the season and then eventually go down if he doens't really light it up. -
One name i like as a consistent starter via free agency would be Chuck Finley. He's old yes, but he's a veteran that fights and would be solid to have as long as we acquired someone else as well. Woody Williams is another guy that would be nice. If we do have to trade, then I think I'd like to see us acquire Brian Lawrence of the Padres, but I wouldn't want to give up too much for him.
-
Can anyone out their think of some other options of pitchers to acquire with Lee instead of Corey Lidle? I know Lidle will cost about 4.5 million a year, so I tend to wonder why not just spend 4.5 mill on a free agent pitcher and try to land the likes of Paul Byrd(Probably will cost more of course) or go with someone else and then use Lee in a package to bring the big guy in, so we don't have to give up many prospects at all.
