Well, when someone throws out predictions I don't think it really ever adds up to 162 games, but I do see what your talking about. Also, a lot of those predictions are dependent on whether the guys actually are playing for the major league club.

We won't be trading MJ to Oak-town for Lidle anymore...

No, he wasn't. I forgot they traded for Billy Koch, lol. I was always thinking they signed him, but they did trade for him. -
That sounds like an unbelievable deal for the Braves then. Just 35.5 million over 6 years. I'd definately take Hampton at that price.

It was Oakland that gave them rookie of the year Eric Hinske too. -
I think Baggs is right or it could be that Beane would rather trade Lidle to a team like the Blue Jays who won't be competiting for anything next year. If he deals him to the Sox, they could end up meeting in the playoffs and you never know what happens. I don't know if Gm's really think about this much, but if a similar offer is on the table from two teams, I'd rather give him to the crappier one. I'm not gonna get all pissed off yet, I still have to be patient and see what comes next.

I'm with you 100%. Everything you read in the paper isn't true. After seeing what the Jays gave up for Lidle, I do believe their was some possibility to the Johnson for Lidle deal, but KW and Beane must not of agreed on what prospect to give up with it, or Beane thinks he's getting a real good sleeper from the Jays.

I knew Hampton was gonna get moved immediately. Well, Marlins did real good, imo, but the Braves did pretty good too, cause Hampton will replace Glavine. Think of it this way, they got a whole lot younger with the move, although they did give up a prospect. I do think Hampton will figure things out.

He gets 6 this year and got 4 last year.

Man, the A's didn't get a damn thing for him. We probably could of simply given them MJ and had Lidle. Oh well. -
Ya. Personally I don't believe this for one second. Enough Said.
-
I'd ask for Bernie Williams, Juan Rivera, and Ramiro Mendoza as well as Jorge Posada. Of course the Sox would never take on that salary. Trust me, this isn't happening.
-
You think the Marlins are interested in shipping Pierre over here?
-
Trust me the Sox aren't dealing Maggs and if they were, they'd be getting some stars back. Like me, I'd consider trading Maggs for Vlad, I know that much. Thats about the only guy I'd trade for Maggs straight up though, in all honesty. Well, I'd take Arod too. Don't you guys remember here, KW said none of the nucleus is going anywhere. He may trade a couple players, Carlos Lee being the best, and he is willing to move a couple prospects considering how many we have. 2 pitching prospects gone, still leaves us with about 4 top starting prospects that will be ready within a year to two.

Well Kimm is going to be at 3rd and I don't think he will be a carbon copy of Wavin Wally. I could care less about the first base coach cause he's not all that important.
-
Honel is not expendable for Colon, mark my words on that. I'm not giving up Honel and someone like Rauch. I'd give up one or the other, mainly because we get a proven ace.
-
Well if we could make that deal with the A's I'd crap my pants because Lidle and Lilly are good and I Like Harang a whole lot. I'd insert all 3 of them into the rotation for all I care. Still it isn't going to happen. Personally, I say move Lee or Thomas, and replace whoever goes with a lefthanded bat. Then add a new centerfielder and give Rowand plenty of time off the bench or move Rowand to get a new centerfielder. I like Crash a whole lot, but I'd love to bring in another speed demon in here, that has a lot more skills then aaron.

I know this much, I got a great feeling Frank will be back next year, and if thats the case then I definately want him playing for the Sox. The guy is an amazing hitter, capable of doing anything at any at bat. He hits for avg, power, and is a great clutch hitter. The more I think about it, counting on younger players like Rowand, Jimenez, Crede, and Olivo it will be very important to have that extra power bat in Frank Thomas.

He's an amazing rapper I know that. Isn't his cd setting a bunch of records?

Thomas won't go to the Twins. Twins already have a lot of top outfield prospects and players and they will run a platoon type system where about 5 of them share 4 positions and Hunter will always be on the field. Plus, Pohlad is cheaper then JR, so he isn't going to spend any money. I have heard talks that he may unload Jacque Jones, whose a great player in my opinion.
-
Oh, I won't whipe it out. I'm just saying we could add a lot more creative names if people wanted to. I'm always open for anything that makes the boards and the posters happier.
-
What, the Mets or Yanks are looking at Maggs? Well I'll make the trade if they want to give us Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter
-
Yep, Webster and Reed are both their and if they both develop and keep growing they may end up pushing Maggs to DH. Of cousre this is a long ways off and you can't worry about this. Plus, odds are of Borchard, Webster and Reed one will fall on his face, but you never know. All I know is that all are real good all around players. Reed isn't a true power hitter, but he's still a player.
-
The one thing I do kind of wonder is why the Sox gave Konerko so much. I do think he's getting paid quite hefty considering his age and the fact that salaries are on the decline. I like Thomas a whole lot, but I'd think 3 yrs 18 mill would of been a lot more fair. Konerko must have a great agent, cause he's getting a great deal. Thats a lot of money for a player his age.

From what I can see, it looks like Thomas would like to go their, but the Orioles aren't too interested. Does anyone get the idea that Tellum and Thomas are trying to act like he has value so they have some leverage in negotiating a deal with the Sox?
