  1. I just can't wait till the Bears land Nick Saban, anyone but Jauron.
  2. That the Phillies have supposedly came very close to signing Tom Glavine and Jim Thome. It is a verbal agreement and I didn't even know teams could talk, but ESPN News was yapping about it.
  3. Ian and Mario are on the money with this one. I happened to like Fogg and Wells but I realized the deal was made for Wells a guy almost everyone who posted here back then had given up and I remember so many people saying how happy they were to see him go and how great ritchie was going to be. I remember Baggs and I were the two big sceptics because first off I liked Wells and secondly I didn't know a damn thing about Ritchie other then what people who were for the trade told me. Still, looking back it isn't near as bad of a deal as everyone says. Imo, Wells will be the only guy to amount to anything and I don't see him turning into a star, but he probably will be a good #3 most of his career. Fogg, he's nothing special and is a 5th starter on a bad team. If he was with the Sox last year, he would of never found a spot in the rotation. As far as Lowe goes, look at what he did last year, nothing. He was a nobody reliever he happened to do good when he was with the Sox, but wasn't really thought of by anyone. All in all Ritchie failed, but the trade wasn't as horrible as everyone says. We didn't give up Garland, Borchard or any or our true top prospects. Kip at the time was teedering on even being considered a top prospect.
  4. Did he pull peoples legs with Boomer Wells and his big contract? No Did he pull peoples legs when he went after Erstad? No, he acquired him for a couple minutes Did he pull peoples legs when he went after Giles? No, the fact was Giles nixed the deal although it wasn't a done deal when it was nixed, he simply said no to Chicago. I think the one thing I have learned is that KW isn't afraid to make the trade. Whether it pans out or not is another story, but he isn't afraid to do it and he's never once pulled my leg.
  5. I don't think our best pitcher whose thrown all those innings should even go near Japan to pitch. He can go ahead and tour it, but the heck with pitching. You've thrown enough Mark, shut it down. I posted this a couple weeks back and I stick to my point. Whatever happens, he better not take the mound again.
  6. The numbers speak for themselves. This guy is a proven winner who can flat out dominate. As far as he's best years are behind him, he's only been getting better and is just 30 years old and most scouts say he's got a Clemens/Ryan like arm in terms of longetivity, but with that you never know.
  7. I'd be exstatic if we could do it for that little, but the guy is one of the best 10 pitchers in the majors so it will probably cost more then that, imo.
  8. I think that we must resign him for about 5 years at say 10 mill a year and call it at that. If we are lucky we could get him at 8 mill a year, but I doubt it. As far as KW goes, the one thing you can't deny is he isn't afraid to make the big moves. Yes, Doublem is right Ritchie had been mentioned for about a week prior to the move being made but thats cause he was mentioned with Brian Giles. Remember we also pulled Boomer and then we had Erstad so KW isn't afraid to make the move to bring the star guy in. The one thing you can worry about is what he gives up.
  9. Williams had an absolutely unfreakin believable game. Damn 26 points, 14 boards, and 13 assists. Simply Amazing.

    This Weeks Picks

Here I go Cinncy New Orleans Green Bay New York Giants Philly Pitt San Diego Tennessee Seattle Jacksonville New England San Fran Jets
  11. This would be amazing. Mario's workin on getting the SN Report up right now. Man oh Man, I hope we can pull this off and not give up any of our really top players. In all honesty I wouldn't mind seeing us give up Ginter, Hummell and one pitcher of their choice not including Honel or Rauch. I kind of wonder if Borchard or Caballo or Rowand could be part of this deal though. I mean Colon is a premiere pitcher so it will cost something to get him.
  12. I won't mind it, I'll just be thinkin draft pick!!!!

    ND Comes Back

Well, their goes what I said about Okohoma as they were beaten by Texas A and M. Now that to me means Miami, Ohio State, Texas, Washington State and then Iowa in the BCS or that would be my assumption. Oklohoma will fall behind them. Now for Iowa to win I think that Washington State will have to lose to Oregon and then Ohio State to Michigan, that would be my guesses and then you get a Texas vs Iowa National Title Game. Of course odds are it won't happen, but hey I can wish.

    ND Comes Back

Ohio State is just like Notre Dame except they have a better running back(Claudett or whatever his name his) I'm telling you all, watch Notre Dame play they are a very complete football team now that their defense keeps playing better. I think Oklohoma is probably the best team in the country, and maybe Miami at two if they can beat Virginia Tech and Tenessee, but after that, I'd have Iowa as the best one loss team(Of course thats if they beat Minnesota)
  15. From what I know KW is looking soley at acquiring a pitcher or two pitchers and thats what his concentration will be at the Winter Meetings. He seems happy with the offense so I doubt we get either, although picking up a stud shortstop or centerfielder would be sweet. Of course we all know I'd love the Shortstop cause it would mean we could dump Manos.

    Colorado-Mizzou

Did Colorado end up holding on or did Missu pull the upset?
  18. I'm sure Mark can work something for ya, he is a creative genius, lol. I'm excited to see mine, I hear its almost ready to roll. :metal

    ND Comes Back

And Wins by a touchdown. Played crappy all day, but in the end the offense was rolling on some huge passing plays. Nice win, but Iowa should pass them in the BCS as I think Iowa may just be the best team in the country.
  20. Someone like the Mariners will probably make a push at him.

    Holy Hell

I think you saw that right. Sometimes I come on and their are like 15 guests and slowly the numbers trickle down. We got a lot of people lurkin, hopefully one day all of those lurkers will register, but hey they are welcome to read all the great insite that goes on here!!!!!!!!!
  22. JB would be a great pickup if he's the second starter we pick up. That way we have a backup plan if anyone goes down and he could always settle in and pitch long relief out of the pen. I'd rather have JB then Ginter in that area. As far as Williams goes, I still say I'd rather have Byrd, especially because Williams is always injured.
  23. The other Matsui would be an awesome pickup for us. He's the top japanese shortstop and is supposed to be a very very good offensive player as well as a great defensive player.
