  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) The media is SO LIBERAL!!!! LMAO. I don't think "conservatives" are running around in the NYT today saying conservatives are raging racists, either. So, you do your own tilt to that story, BOY.
  2. Oh the media is SO conservative!!!!! LMAO.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 07:12 PM) I'm planning to update shortly. Is there any compatibility issues with any software you know of that I should worry about? Everything I've seen from Vista to 7 you shouldn't have issues. If you're going from XP to 7, that's another story.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) I think I'd like to have post 40,000 appear here. Yay. Party on, Garth.
  5. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 04:05 PM) Last I saw, Michelle Obama is going to Copenhagen because Barack would rather concentrate on health care. Or at least he hasn't confirmed because of this. Also, there's a chance Oprah goes...*ugh*. "Welcome Jaaaaacques Rooooooooooooooogge!" If those are our representatives, hello, Rio.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 02:41 PM) Close fantasy football game for me. Will be watching the Pats/Bills game followed by The RAIDERS! In my league, we're tied 85-85. He's got Brady, I've got Gates and San Diego's Defense. Who will win?
  7. I needed the sleep. Arm's finally not hurting as bad. It feels a whole lot better today then it has.

  12. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) I think its great to see so many people politically motivated for what is hopefully the right reasons, even if I disagree with their positions. That is if I could figure out what those positions were. The dude from FreedomWorks who was one of the organizers of the event said 450K and I'd take that number at their word. Ah yes, people stand for nothing when it's not wailing on George W. Bush's policies. I get it.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) So you're saying we should cut back on the tax cuts, which consumers use to purchase goods from whatever, and put more in to developing native industries and green technology? OK.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 04:32 PM) Later in the day when people checked that flag was suddenly at full staff. Anyway...a typical football stadium is what, 60-70,000? If you emptied all of a football stadium in to one street as a march, and then allowed people to spread out enough to hold signs, how would it look? Wouldn't that fill up a street? Maybe they're off by some amount, maybe the march had 100,000 but it's probably not an order of magnitude. And anyway, 100,000 turned out for a rally that seems to have no specific motivation (we don't like Obama! doesn't count) isn't exactly shabby. Ah yes, I'm sure it's some f***ing conspiracy. GMAFB.
  15. This has become the most anticipated September post on the board.
  16. There were a lot of flags yesterday into this morning flown at half staff.
  17. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) I am kinda stuck going. I have promised alot of people I would be there. My only hope is that the one girl shows up later to the party like she said and I will leave early because I have to work tomorrow. Why don't you just enjoy both at the same time.
  18. Ah yes, they are nutjob irrelevant kook assholes - let the smear campaigns commence.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 12:37 AM) Last year MSNBC re-aired their coverage from that day. I was watching CNN's coverage in 2001 but it was really eerie seeing that. I could remember specific thoughts I was having at specific times, or where I was going, who I was talking to. I remember a lot of details from that day too, but we had a totally different perspective being at a control center of an airline. Yea, small, cargo airline (20 or so jets), but FAA rep happened to be at our center that day for a meeting. "I don't care where your f***ing planes are, get them on the f***ing ground right now". That was about 5 minutes after the Pentagon was hit. We all just sat there and watched the tv that was hanging up in the control center, and watched the big screen that had the tracking software of jets coming off real quick-like. 2,500 planes, to 1,500 planes, to 500 planes, to nothing, all in about one hour's time... and then silence - at a major airport like Dallas Fort Worth - which is the most eery thing I will ever remember - total silence at that airport. Oh, and transponders on Air Force One worked really, really well until about 2:00 in the afternoon. D'oh.
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 11:25 PM) I hope that the Angels don't injure themselves with the fight at the bat rack now that Linebrink is pitching. Nice line.
  21. Working at an airline that day is something I'll never forget. That's for darn sure. God bless those who were lost that day and their families.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) Mark2Market? I hate you. Hey - I can post that now, if you want. But that's so a year ago now.
  23. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 12:01 AM) I've mostly stayed away from 'Busterly threads for more han a year now, because getting too impassioned about stuff here was not doing my mental health any good. If I had the stomach for it anymore, this (US heath care) would be where I'd put some heart into a debate (the environmental debates notwithstanding, because I still have the bruises from beating my head against those walls too). Shame on me though, because I'm not going to get overly into the debate over the best of the bad compromises in US health care reform. I'm one of those certifiable whackjobs that believe health should be a human right and not a privilege. That's a majority opinion according to national as well as international polls, but it's sufficient to make me a left-wing extremist in the current political discourse, so it's not worth discussing my fringe viewpoints too much in mixed company. If you can, post why you think health should be a human right. I've seen other's opinions on this, but I really would like to view yours, even if I disagree. I at least respect your opinion, even if I differ from it. If you don't want to, I understand.
  24. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 10:59 PM) I mostly just say stuff like that to make Soxy mad and make the veins in her forehead throb. See? I'm conducting a Psych experiment! Really, how hard is that?!? [/ducks for cover] If ever there's going to be a cyber ass kicking, we're about to witness it when Soxy logs back in.
  25. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 11:28 PM) It's always "don't want" to pay for it, and never ever "can't" pay for it on your side of the fence, eh? Yep. Here's why. As an anecdote before I give my real answer, if you have a heart attack, you get taken to the hospital and you get fixed up. Period. No one even gives a crap who you are or what you do, or anything. It's just done. That will change if this goes through. Directly to your question: Guess what? I've worked in the medical field. If you CAN'T pay, you CAN pay $1.00 a month. That's sufficient to get treatment and a lot of times won't even get you reported to freecreditreport.com - that's a pretty neat deal, actually (yea, that's kind of a smart ass answer on the tail end here, but seriously, payment plans shows a person to be paying and the care centers can't do a thing about it). They CAN'T refuse you care. A lot of people out there DON'T WANT to pay for it at all - but when you GIVE them "insurance" they'll go all right. In droves. There is a subtle difference there, yet it's a major one, and something that will happen. BTW, in all seriousness, I'm glad to see you chime in here, and I will try not to be a Kaperbolistic ™ asshole.
