  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet spy satellite is insignificant next to the power of. . . THE FORCE! We need to superimpose Dubya.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 04:18 PM) Does the bias charge work so well here? Word on the street is that the NY Times held the story off throughout the early primary season and it didn't see the light of day until this week, when he had secured the nomination. The story is breaking 9 months before the next moment that matters for McCain, so it would hardly have a legitimate effect on the general election either, if the story amounts to nothing. Probably Clinton staffers who wanted to get how bad they suck off of the front pages before the debate with Obama last night.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) Posting this article specifically for Kap. Entire arcticle Gee, thanks! I hope that March 5 is the last time we have to worry about the Clintons being relevant on the national stage for executive office.
  4. The thing is, the Clintons have always been inherently negative (I would argue that the whole damn Democrat platform is based on what's f***ed up with the country and not what's positive, but hey, whatever).
  5. If you get Jordan Staal at that cost, you have to pull the trigger.
  6. Reddy would say that the whole Clinton campaign has been plagarizing John Edwards. But you know what? Ever since Clinton started that crap after JE dropped out, she has fallen faster then John Edwards himself did. Don'tcha think that the "poor me" s*** is not resonating with voters?
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) I am sure the talk will be nothing like the one Obama had two days ago. HE had a sold out Reunion Arena rocking. Well, technically, it wasn't "sold out" because the event was free... just sayin'. Yea, the guy knows how to plagarize a speech and deliver it.
  8. OH OH OH OH OH... Hillary's going to be in downtown Ft. Worth in 40 minutes! I am READY TO GO (out to eat no where near there...)
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 08:18 AM) So sex matters again for the Democrats? When it's on the other side, sure it does.
  10. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) xerox comment was just plain stupid!! And it ain't like SHE made up that comment. She had a speech writer tell her that one. And so, that's PLAGARISM!
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) The last 10 superdelegates listed on this tracker site have sided with Obama. One of them is a switch from Clinton to Obama. Perhaps we are finally seeing a shift towards one candidate? http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/su...egate-list.html Who, Clinton? My hope is on March 5, the woman is gone from the race. I'm still not holding my breath.
  12. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) Just saw a guy from the Obama campaign giving an interview. He was asked to give one Obama accomplishment, the guy just blabbed about change or something stupid... interviewer said "No, give me a specific accomplishment". Guy from Obama campaign was like "we can't really give anything specific". And that about sums it up, doesn't it? Hillary has about the same resume but is 35 years older.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) I thought Bill lost a reelection in Arkansas And she will be around for a very long time. She may be a Teddy Kennedy-esque player, but she will be a fixture for the next couple decades. She may be around but she's not going to be an executive of anything again if she loses now. She'll be in the Senate forever. BTW, you know, Bob Dole did the noble thing when he ran for president, he retired from the Senate. Do you think any of these three assbags would do that? Just sayin'.
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 12:52 PM) Kapkomet: Hillary will win. The World: Keep thinking that, but you're wrong. Kapkomet: I know, I don't even believe myself, but I just have to continue being ridiculous because I've held this stance for so long. Ignore me. The World: 'K. Hey, I'll be glad when Hillary is gone from the political fixture that is the United States political landscape. Just remember, they have never lost an election. If you count them as dead now, she'll come back to bite you in the ass. Trust me, there's no one that wants her gone more then me, and I still contend that there's going to be shennanigans that puts her over the top in more ways then one.
  15. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) Lol, ok Simon. No I agree though, most were pretty weird and odd. Too many slow songs with no emotion. Too many terrible Elvis songs. It was the first show though, hopefully they'll get better. I think the moment I'll remember is Simon calling the Peter Frampton look-a-like "pale" and in need of some sun. Also I thought the judges, especially Simon and Paula, sorta got ridiculous. I mean its funny when they go after each other, but Paula, as usual, was making no sense, and Simon, as usual, was being an ass, but the producers let them go for WAY too long. It was borderline annoying. Perhaps thats what they needed to fill 2 hours. Oh and I think it's bad how obvious the judges are with who they want to win. At least Paula likes everyone it seems like. But Simon has it clear who he wants to win: the sixteen year old or the auzzie. I thought the 16 year old sounds good (though his "thank you's" are REALLY annoying and over the top) but the auzzie's Doors cover was TERRIBLE. You simply cannot cover Morrison like a hack, which is how he sounded. And yet for some reason Simon loved it. I hate that I love this show. I like it if only for the entertainment value. I find myself agreeing or saying damn near everything Simon says, except the Doors cover, that wasn't nearly as good as it was made out to be. Paula was very obviously struggling last night to be coherent. She looked absolutely worn out.
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Judging by the turnout in Republican primaries and caucuses to date I don't think people will be coming out in droves to support an uninspiring waffler like McCain. There isn't a need to "go out and support" McCain. Since New Hampshire, he's been the defacto nominee. If Clinton gets the nomination, you bet your ass people will vote for McCain in droves. I know, I know... Obama has it wrapped up.
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 11:06 AM) Not much of a race on the GOP side, so as a REP, why not cross over and vote against the candidate that your leaders have announted the DEM's most evil threat? Reps for Obama, not that far fetched. This process is for the party to select their candidate. The mainline supporters are typically supporters going back at least as far as Clinton 1, and in some cases even farther. Because some people just now decided they like a candidate, these supporters will take a back seat and say you run it? Too much in it for people. Too many received benefits from Clinton one and wish to return to those days. I'm not all the way with Kap, but he's closer to right then the she doesn't have a chance people. Bigsqwert, I agree with you in the sense that it's pretty bleak for Hillary. But, in all honesty, do you expect her to just sit there and watch this happen? When the Clinton's speak about the "vast right wing conspiracy" and the "republican attack machine", these people have the biggest glass house ever built. They have probably the fiercest, hardest, call it whatever you want, tenacity (read: attack machine) to ensure that they maintain power. I mean come on... Hillary went to New York, why? Just to be nice and "work hard for the people of New York?" HELL NO, she did it with the angle of becoming president in 2008. PERIOD. Has she represented the people of New York well? More often then not, most people say yes. That's well and good, but my bigger point is, Hillary Clinton has ridden the coattails of Bill Clinton all the way until now, and she's not going to become irrelevant without a fight. It will become an unscrupulous fight before it's over, because she's going to take down the whole house of cards. My analogy is, if I can't have it, none of you can... and that is most likely what's going to happen to the Democrat party. Anyone who discounts Hillary Clinton for any reason is at best naive, and at worst stupid.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 10:30 AM) Bingo. Of the 700 or 800 still undecided I don't see a scenario where they'd all, or mostly, break for Clinton. The argument that she'd be a better matchup in November isn't even holding water anymore. Obama is winning red states, independents, and disenfranchised republicans. And then, I think that there are a lot of people like me, who are going to go vote for Obama because I despise Clinton so much. He's pulling a lot of people like that. If the Republicans lose the White House in 2008, I would much rather see Obama then Hillary Clinton as our president, even if I disagree with almost everything they stand for. With that said, how much resentment is there against Hillary that is stoking up Obama? If the party faithful deem that's what's happening, you bet your ass they will side with Clinton.
  19. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 08:09 AM) The Supers aren't stupid. They realize that a backroom deal giving either candidate the Presidency over a clear "people's choice" favorite would just hand the election to McCain. If the Clintons lose this race, then they have no power and no way to get revenge. I really don't see how they can strong-arm the delegates. The Clintons don't give a damn about ANYTHING except themselves. And they will do what it takes to get what they want, the rest of the political world be damned. I still fail to understand why that's such a foreign concept. The bottom line is that the superdelegates are generally old party establishment, and the Clintons will strong arm these people. The superdelegate concept is there for NO other reason then to override the "people's choice" when the party deems it necessary. Guess what? The party just might deem it necessary.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 01:14 AM) Here's a question for you guys to chew on in the morning... Flip the results and current delegate count. Pretend it was Hilldog who just swept 10 states in a row, most in convincing fashion. What would the media be saying? What would Clinton's camp be saying? Wouldn't they both be talking about it being over, and asking when Obama would be dropping out? Wouldn't we be spending primary/caucus nights talking about what it would be like to have a female president? Camp Clinton for sure would be pushing Obama to get out, and so would the MSM. And despite all of the "good news" for Obama, I'm *STILL* convinced Hillarity will win. It's all about strong arming the superdelegates, and making sure the backroom deal for MI and FL "to have a voice"... It's getting more difficult for Hillarity now. If Obama wins BOTH Texas and Ohio, then I will finally say that Hillarity is done.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Here is my crush list not in any order. You may or may not agree but this is my personal list. 1.) Molly Sims - sigh - One of the many reasons I watch the show Las Vegas 2.) Kate Beckinsale - Looks great in black leather 3.) Allesandra Ambrosio - One of the many hot Victoria Secret Angels 4.) Adriana Lima - again another hot VS Angel 5.) Karolina Kurkova - See 3 and 4 6.) Megan Fox - Very Nice 7.) Petra Nemcova - Very nice On my list because they are local and are on my crush list. 8.) Ginger Zee - She should do the weather all the time. 9.) Ana Devlantes - The 10 oclock news would be perfect if she and Ginger were on it by themselves dressed like twins wrestling in oil. Last but definately not least 10.) Martina McBride - Love her music and she has the most amazing eyes. Southsider will remember this line. OMG I had Martina McBride in MY BACKSEAT! I'm surprised I didn't drive the damn van off the road because I was staring in the rear view mirror.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Even if she wins Washington the turnout is ridiculously low. No delegates involved. It would be pathetic if her campaign gloated about a win there tonight. You didn't answer the question.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Then they should go to Congress, as they've done several times since taking office, and ask that FISA be amended to adapt to those technological changes. They shouldn't just decide to ignore the current law because I'm now sending an email over a connection instead of a phone call. Just openly deciding the law doesn't apply would be something Castro would do. (Like that? Right back on topic. There ya go!) Well, that's what Congress just did for us. They decided to change the law (or read: let the old one lapse) to allow the backing of the lawyers presenting these lawsuits.
