  1. I don't think it's what you owe, it's what you already paid in... (or had withheld). All you are doing when you "owe" is "trueing up" what should have been withheld all year. If you made more then $3000, you'll be getting something back as long as no one else can claim you. BTW, it is ALWAYS best to owe a teeny, tiny amount to the IRS, because that means you are maximizing your own money.
  2. Oh, so Obama is just as dirty as the rest? He's not a saint in politics? Surely, you jest! The law stinks. But since McCain is the one whose name is on the damn bill, the least he could do is follow his own law, the bastard.
  3. Wait, so Obama is going back on his word, or are you talking about McCain?
  4. I bet soxfan1 likes the thought of that.
  5. BTW this is a nice page for the delegates count: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/20...gate_count.html
  6. There's 228 delegates in the state of Texas for the Democrats. On the same day, March 4, Ohio also votes and they have 161 delegates at stake. That's a big chunk and the winner of that day will have a leg up the rest of the way, I think.
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) Wisconsin will be close to Illinois I believe in Obama voting. The real challenge will be Indiana. And Indiana doesn't vote until May. Whoever wins Texas is probably going to win this thing. And I *still* say Clinton wins this thing.
  8. I just conducted an interview this week and he said he was born and raised in Chicago, and I DAMN NEAR asked him Sox or Cubs? But I thought better of it.
  9. QUOTE(Disco72 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) Consolidation is long overdue for the legacy carriers, but what's your reasoning behind some of the smaller ones? They seem to be more profitable with newer fleets, fewer types of planes, and better cost structures. Clearly, in some cases, a match would make sense. For example, Frontier and AirTran which serve few of the same markets but are very similar and already have a code sharing arrangement. Talking out loud here, but would a switch from a 'regional' airline to more national and international still allow these companies to use the business models that are working for them now? No. I'll just leave it at that.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) I also don't believe that the graph will end up being true. There is no way the system will get to the point where health care takes up 50% of GDP, which makes all of the scare tactics moot. +1
  11. Can't wait to have you back home, Nuke. Seriously. Take care over there.
  12. Everyone around here is pretty excited about this. For me, it ain't gonna matter because the Rangers suck, and he can't put the uniform on anymore.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 07:50 AM) Who would be working for half the pay? The government pays us all SO well! I mean, we're getting $600, $1,200 or MORE! in a couple of months!
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 07:52 AM) Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod. . . THEY'RE LISTENING IN ON OUR THOUGHTS NOW!!! :o This is the very kind of personal intrusion us conspiracy theorists have been warning you about for years. Not only that, one of our own SoxTalkers is openly advocating for and condoning this activity. Time to stock up on the heavy duty tinfoil now and keep the political parties out of my head. Do you need to borrow my tin hat sig?
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) Makes sense. We're only interested when there is violence. Seems like some people were blaming the media for only reporting the negative (violence) and not the postive. You know, just sayin' Exactly! It's not being reported because they don't need to report the positive. It makes the GOP stronger. You know, just sayin' NUKE, HOW THE HELL ARE YOU?
  16. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:15 PM) Straight-Talk Express my pasty white as$$. Thank you all for pointing out exactly why I don't like him.
  17. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:57 AM) Ok, so Romney just ripped Islam for having a wing that wants to replace all governemnts with a religious leader. Didn't a Huckabee (a republican) just say a few weeks a go the constitution should be replaced with a version more like the bible? If he did, he needs to just stop running now. I don't think that is what was said.
  18. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:35 AM) Just listen to right-wing talk radio, you'll never miss "Barack HUSSEIN!!!! Obama" Oh bulls***. Nobody cares, or at least no one cares that matters.
  19. Cone on Tex. It's not being talked about because the violence and such is down.

I bet I do my own returns (yes, using the box software) but still...
  21. I have a big ass meeting I have to go to. But I will chime in and be nice and actually give reasons without the hyperbole later.
  22. Are they counting Michigan and Florida as "in" for Hillarity? When all is said and done, I bet she gets those delegates and it makes her win.
  23. As I re-think it, re: Austin, you're right. But Dallas/Fort Worth will probably split right down the middle. Houston will go Hillary, if I had to guess.
  24. Why is "socialist" so bad? I didn't mean it in the communistic way. *gawsh, sooooo sensitive*!
  25. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) On that note, for you Texans on the board... how do you think Obama and Clinton will play there? My wild guess is that Obama would do well in north and central texas, and the major cities, while Clinton will do better in the border areas south and west, and in eastern Texas. Does that sound about right? East Texas will probably go Obama. Austin will go Hillarity, although close. Obama will do well in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth. Border areas and West Texas overwhelmingly Hillarity. In all actuality, I would love to try to get in on one of these dealies when they come here. Maybe I will have an epiphany of epic proportions and decide that Hillarity isn't so bad after all... In a nutshell, I think Hillarity wins 52-48 (assuming 100% calc), or to say by 4 pts.
