  1. I've had enough of ER's for a few years after the last two weeks. First, Baby Kap, and now Mrs. Kap. Ugh.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) Either that or if they are going to offer him $14 for the last year, offer him a big buyout, say like $5/6 million to put the guarenteed money up closer to $50 million. That would work too (the big buyout option). Personally, I think the #'s being talked about here are too low, but we'll see. If MB's agent is asking for that, you have to JUMP on it, like TODAY.
  3. 4 yrs, $56M is not a bad contract, IMO. However, if they do a 3 yr $42M contract, they should give him a huge kicker in that 4th year option (say $16-$17M)... can you imagine what the salaries (going rate) will be in 4 years? That's scary to ponder.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) I'd like to see the health care as a seperate budget, out from the defense budget, more in the entitlement and public aid arenas. That's an interesting thought, but I doubt it will happen.
  5. I knew those two were having an affair! Scrumptious!
  6. This thread symbolizes what's wrong with people today. Bush and his people suck, therefore, do not give any of those people a chance. You really want a pick? How about Joe L.??
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:32 AM) The main issue with the VA right now is that thanks in no small part to the Iraq war, the number of people who would have been eligible for VA treatment has skyrocketed, but at the same time, the amount of funds available to take care of those folks has not seen a similar increase; therefore, the VA has had to enact strict rules on who is eligible for treatment at their facilities, but that still has not been anywhere near enough to deal with the surge in patients described above. BS. This existed long before the Iraq war. This goes back 20-30 + years to the Vietnam era, when the soldiers coming back were all s*** on and the politicians have turned a blind eye to it for years, both Democrat and Republican. In this case, the Democrats want to add even more gas to the fire that Bush doesn't give a s*** about our troops or their care, and Bush wants to save face. But shame on all of them because it's been this way for years and NOW it's a political s***storm. Maybe, just maybe, this is finally the perfect storm to get it taken care of right this time.
  8. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) There are plenty of reasons why Condi could be legitimately denied the VP spot. Really? What might those be?
  9. QUOTE(Damen @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) I don't believe I've ever called you any of that, I think the only comments I've ever made towards you is in regards to your propensity to avoid having a substantive discussion in favor of using sarcasm so lame Ann Coulter wouldn't use it. Zing! Was that sarcasm I detect?
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) 1.) Where you're living you can't have a dish (apartment, condo, dorm) 2.) You have a package deal with internet and cable. 3.) You have a multi year contract with the cable company. 4.) There are certain channels that you can only get on cable. 5.) You don't want a dish or you just prefer cable to DirectTV. I know I'm way late on this, but #3 is bogus. Almost 100% of the time you do not have a long term deal with a cable company. The satellite companies are the ones that do this to you, and so does Verizon, etc. Comcast, Cablevision, Cox, nor Time Warner makes you sign a long term deal.
  11. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 07:26 AM) http://www.maps.com/games/africa.html Now that's a little harder.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) Pass me some of what you're smoking. Danks ain't a #1. And neither's McCarthy.
  13. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Mitt Romney's latest supporter. Ann Coulter And for that reason alone, I think I now hate Mitt Romney (in reality, I didn't like him already).
  14. QUOTE(Damen @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) When you can't think of a way to defend the indefensible, fall back on lame sarcasm. Works every time. I can defend it, but then you'd just call me a liar and a kool-aid Bush loving neo-con, so why should I bother?
  15. And *gasp* as a conservative, as I duly noted about 10 pages ago in this thread, I do my part. And it's not because of the Goracle.
  16. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) Where did you get that idea from? You really do have a comprehension problem. How about this: humans are not the only f***ing problem here. We are A problem, but not the single solitary problem. Clear enough for ya? QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) You need to deal with your anger issues. If we (humanity) all died today, "global warming" would still happen or be occuring. So, yes, humans are "A" problem, but not "THE" problem.
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) try me. Alpha made some great points and if you bothered to read my reply, I agreed with him. Kap suggested liberals get our heads out of Goracle's ass and look. I'm looking and waiting for some conservative to comment on the environment and what the GOP's position is. I am very consistently pro-business. The GOP usually links anti-polluting measures to what is good for business. I can't think of one position I've taken that could be considered anti-business. I imagine I would be much in line with GOP environmental positions, if I actually knew them. So I sit and wonder why the GOP doesn't have a champion for the environment. It could possibly be one more area that I agree with Republicans. Again, no one is suggesting anything, because it would do no good. There's DEFINITELY good platforms on the environment by the GOP. But they're not championed by a sociocrat like the Goracle, so it's like finding a needle in a haystack.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) The Gore thread has highlighted something for me, why doesn't the GOP have a position regarding the environment? They do, if you take your head out of the Goracle's ass long enough to find it. And no, it's not simply $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, Balta. And before the next smart ass comment comes about "they just pollute and pollute and pollute", no, that's just simply not true. There isn't the Goracle (or someone like him) speaking for the GOP, so of course they won't get the same attention.
  19. This just proves that George W. Bush is in control of EVERYTHING. /rolly
  20. I'll just shoot down the "commercial airliner" thing, which I brought up one other time, but I was wrong to do so. He is a dignitary of our country, and cannot fly commercially due to the security risk. I can respect that. However, as an "inventor of the internet", he could certainly get video conference equipment, right? Oh, well, then he wouldn't get his $150,000 to $200,000 per speech appearance fees. Keep burning the gulfstream oil, baby!
  21. Wow. That's in the same conference as Manchester now, IIRC.
  22. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) Please, please, please stop voting for Sanjaya. It's embarrassing for him. He is basically going to get ripped every week. Which is exactly why he's going to last well into April.
  23. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) Since the usual suspects here could not find a conservative who was also a environmentalist, I went looking. I am alarmed that something as basic as our air, water, and energy production and usage has been hijacked on both sides for political gain. The left: do everything to save the environment, we need to save ourselves from ourselves (and Republicans). Make the problem seem worse to get their attention and action. The right: consumption is fine, burn it, strip mine it, drill it, this is all a ploy by the Dems to get votes. Discredit anyone who disagrees, and use that oil! The truth is somewhere in the middle. Over my lifetime we have made tremendous strides in cleaning our environment. Just look at the Chicago river. From a terribly polluted waterway to something that can be used for recreation. Smokestacks at factories are not billowing poisons into our lungs as badly as before. But Dems are going to have to take a more realistic approach to how bad the situation is and the solutions and Reps are going to have to admit that there are still problems and challenges that confront us. Since when does every issue have to be contested? What the hell ever, Tex. Let it go. The rest of us did when we realized that the Goracle could walk on polluted water. I'm sure every conservative is anti-environmental. It just has to be, because otherwise the Goracle wouldn't have to be an elitist wanker who buys his way to a good conscious.
  24. Ms. Kellie is dating a Nashville Predator (and no, it's not the guy I do the website for), thank God. So, when we were there, she paraded in the family room where all the player's family hang out, like she owned the place. Pluuuuhease. But beyond that, Ms. Kellie is getting quite the reputation around Nashville. Too much freedom, I guess.
  25. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) Pickler always sucked. But did anyone else notice anything about her rack? It seems like she either went through puberty or she got some excellent work done. Want me to spread some gossip (that's true, because I was there in Nashville) about Ms. Kellie? Ugh. I won't. Nevermind.
