The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) kap, this is the most hypocritical bulls*** i've ever read. Dear bmags, I'm glad you have some nice things to say to me, as always. However, this is exactly why the civility is non-existant here. People have a lot of expertise and knowledge here, but gee, imagine this, people like you just outright dismiss it because of someone's handle on a computer screen or have to have something obnoxious with every point. I'm glad to note that you're an expert in all matters and just adds to the much larger point once again. In case you haven't noticed, I have let a lot of things go in the last six weeks, because the discourse is old, but when I do say something that's perfectly honest and in black and white, I'm the hypocrite? Have a nice day! Cheers, Kap

2010 World Series: Rangers vs. Giants
The local media has picked up the fact that Lee pretty much likes how things are here. It'll be interesting if $50+ million over a 5 year contract speaks louder, because you know whatever the Rangers offers the Yankmees will add +1-2 more years and $10 million + per year (aka at least $50 million) to the contract. In fact, I bet you they'd give him $200 million over 5 years. Yea, $40 million per year. It wouldn't surprise me.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 08:43 AM) Go back and read how this started. The article stated, ridiculously, that somehow financial engineers are not productive members of society. Its a laughable premise. That's what I was getting at, and its still true. Then you tried to make out what a financial engineer is, and I am telling you from a dozen years of experience working IN FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY, that your understanding is wrong. And even now, you are looking at one particular variety of engineer, and you are completely ignoring the way this actually works. Financial engineers do not create instruments, nor do they even decide (usually) what to model or why. They take data, and requirements from a business person who is looking for something, they work the data, hand over the results, and say, "here is what the model(s) say". They are ENGINEERS. They have as much blame, and credit, and productivity as, say, aerospace engineers. Both have done things that resulted in catastrophe, but the idea that either entire field if professionals is not "productive" is ridiculous. No, certain people know more then everyone, everywhere about everything, even in technical things they have no experience in. It's tiresome and why this place sucks now, and this last little bit of an exchange illustrates it perfectly moreso then the veiled stuff everywhere else in this forum. Certain people don't want to learn, cetain people always want to be right to the point of vomiting crap and seeing what sticks. But I, for one, do appreciate the nuances and experience you're trying to bring out here.

FlexSpending Changes for 2011
QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) I meant this by the insurance company. Yea. And your point? It was a throw in, and it was lobbied for so that they could start the process of doing away with tax free medicines, i.e. they collect the tax revenues on this - welcome to yet another tax in this bill going up. It was a plank to "raise money", yet another misnomer and lie perpetrated by the whole damn sham called "health care reform".

FlexSpending Changes for 2011
WTF is the last part of your post? You think the insurance company made these rules? And I don't want to hear that they lobbied for this. No, they didn't, because they lose money on this. Big money. Don't make this partisan other then the assholes who voted this crap in ... and I do believe the majority party who set the agenda on this is Democrats.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) I'll be more than happy to oblige you. I think I'll start a trip photo thread in a day or two once I've had a chance to catch my breath. That would be awesome. I couldn't imagine what you saw and would like to learn more about that place - you might quite possibly could be the best tour guide of anyone. WEEEEE!! We get a documentary from Flaxx! I'm actually kind of fired up for this one...

Come to Texas to see the World Series! (Kind of sad. I'd rather it be on the southside of Chicago again).

Thunderstorms in Dallas/Fort Worth better not either. (I know, I just cheated, , but the opportunity and the oh so coherence of thought had to be put down at the same time).

Snow in Montreal, Quebec, Canada rules. Not really. It better not mess up my flight tomorrow.

John Danks trade ideas
So, they will trade for a guy that they let go of a few years ago and his brother? Hehe. For some reason, I don't think the Rangers are going to trade anything with the Sox... seeing as how they get fleeced every time. But that's just my lack of analysis...

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) Well, CJ Wilson has collapsed. And I would let his ass rot out there and not burn the bullpen. This game is over.
-
2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
This just in... CJ Wilson sucks f***ing ass today. I could pitch better then this. Game 6 and 7 because the Yankmees just got circle jerked right back into it.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
I wish the Sox played this smart... tagging up and taking second with 2 out, etc. These guys play hard and not stupid.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
Yes. And I'm not sure I'd even want to go to that... although I'd have to say it would be pretty neat to have been to 4 major final sporting events.
-
2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
I'm just glad that the Rangers are getting more attention then the Dallas Cow-whores for once in the local media. Actually - I found out today I got a pretty good chance to go to the World Series if they make it - that would be pretty cool. And that would make the tri-fecta of major sports finals for me if I got to go, Stanley Cup finals (check), NBA finals (check), and WS? It's a good thought.

Vomit sucks. My two threw up yesterday at 3 am and today at 3 am, respectively. So I expect to wake up at 3 am tonight. Or worse, it'll hit me in a week when I'm in Canada. Good thing is we have 3 zofran pills left from when the wifey had the littlest one. That crap cures the vomits immediately.

Quick, get the license plate of that drunk man (who wasn't driving, of course).
