Talent for talent, that trade looks extremely bad. Lee for Podsednik + Vizcaino... yuck. I realize we did other things with the money, but -- eh, I'll digress. We're winning, I shouldn't b****. I just hope that Podsednik keeps that OBP high -- it's falling a little bit, down from .380 (approx.) to .359 -- or else our offense is going to be in a whole lot of trouble. BTW -- Jeremy Reed is up to .267/.339/.369. He's doing better after a bad start to the season. I just watched him tonight on Extra Innings, he looks extremely good at the plate. Looks like he's settling in nicely. Haven't seen enough of Morse to really comment on him.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:30 AM) Keith to be honest I do not ever recall clashing with you. The closest I can recall is we disagreed on Harris over the winter ... that was about it ... ? Mutual respect maybe. Yeah, clashed wasn't really the right word. Disagreed on Harris and perhaps Guzman this offseason, that's about it. -

QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) once again labeled a "whiner" cause i've got a different perspective. when anything wrong happens and i hear "we're still in first" that is a cop out to me. No. You're a whiner because you b**** about the simplist thing wrong. I've clashed with Jim on several issues, and we've never called each other names. The way you present yourself is, well, like a whiner. You b**** about the smallest thing that goes wrong. Is everything flowers and roses and peaches? No. But we have the best record in baseball. If I didn't watch this team day in, day out, you'd think we're in last place with all the b****ing that goes on in these threads. -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:20 AM) How long did he stick around? Did he just shoot around or help teach you guys things? How awesome would it have been if he went to us like he was projected a week before the draft. Then last second he moved up out of our range. I was calling for us to trade up for him if need be the entire off-season then. No teaching, just watching. Yeah, it's a shame he didn't fall to us. I'm not mad about Hinrich or anything like that, it's just Wade's a level above Hinrich. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) My point is that everyone makes bad predictions. I do, you do, everyone does. If you want to call me out for making a bad one, I will call you out for doing the same. Well, that's the first time I've gotten a sense of "I was wrong" from you. I've admitted I was wrong on Oakland, and maybe it's just me, but I've never gotten that sense from you about Cotts. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) And the A's are going to be great this season. What's your point? What does that have to do with anything? I thought they'd contend in an overall weak division. It's mid-June and they're 10 games back, and have played like s*** the whole season. Whatever. I think the smarter posters around here have learned what to expect from you. -

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:10 AM) We appreciate you reminding us of their problems EVERY SINGLE GAME THREAD. Luckily many of the posters here aren't the GM's, otherwise Kevin Walker would be up here, Neal Cotts would be on the farm, Gio Gonzalez would be up here too. Dye and Konerko? Gone and gone. -

And, I know this is off-topic, but something pretty cool happened tonight. We had some summer basketball games, and guess who's there? Dwayne Wade. Pretty neat. Real big guy -- sometimes basketball players look small on TV, but he's friggin' huge. I didn't go get his autograph or nothin', I figure enough people go and do that. Just, kind of cool on a night where I watched the junior guards s*** down their legs... -

Thanks for the recap, guys. Boy, I'm glad that we sent down Neal Cotts earlier in the season like the many people here on this board were calling for. Oh wait... -

I know this might be an annoyance to some people, but I just got home -- can someone give me a slight recap on what's happened? I'd appreciate it a whole lot. If not, that's cool too. -
A note from BA about another stud pitcher in our division (future):

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) I am considering driving from Michigan to attend my first game of 2005 tonight. Anyone want to hang out at the game? I'll buy a beverage for you. Half price ticket night! Damnit, knight, I would so take you up on that offer if not for basketball. It's ruining my damn summer... -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) He f***ing picked the ball a foot off the base without streching dont you watch the f***ing game? I was thinking the same thing. Bad play on both ends. Luckily, Harris did well with a huge basehit and a huge bunt. Real nice job filling in for Iguchi today. EDIT: And I doubt Iguchi even gets to that ball. "Past a diving Iguchi"... -

This is one of the few times this year where I feel (about a game, not about the season), damn, were we lucky. I mean, Podsednik was clearly out, and we got a huge break with the safe call. Let's just say, you won't see me b****ing about it... -

Damaso doesn't quite have the 'zip' of his fastball earlier in the season. It's down to 91, rather than the 93-94 he was at. Come on, Damaso. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) And you gave him no hope of getting better despite the fact he has pitched less than 100 innings at the major league level. Funny how he only has 5 BB's since May, with that "control" of his isn't it. Shh... It's all good, he posted an article. How many pitches is Contreras at? -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) But he DID suck in the past. I don't understand what you are trying to say. The reason he is pitching better is because he isn't looking at the ground before he delivers. Yes, he did suck in the past. He's young. I don't expect a guy to come up from the minors and have an instant 3.25 ERA. I'm not pointing at that. I'm just saying, I see you all the time ripping guys when they suck, yet when they come with a nice play, I don't see you giving them their due. That's what I'm trying to say. Even in your post about Harris, I sensed a jab at him ( ala, Harris can't hit the ball out of the infield). -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) Cotts is doing well now and I even posted the article on why he sucked in the past. He apparently was looking at the ground during his delivery. I'm sure you knew that though. Oh, wow, you posted an article? Really? I can care less. You still don't compliment Cotts when he does well (I haven't seen it, at least -- maybe you have and I've forgotten). You just like to kick 'em when they're down, like Harris right now. -
