Wow - Ichiro has the most interesting base hits. That one, a high, high chopper over Gload... Damn, he's an awesome player...
-
Ah - so I see they did spell it wrong. Heads, you can just merge this with your thread, if you want to...

Does Man Hands have an 'H' in his last name, or did the White Sox screw up his jersey? I never thought he had an 'H', like when someone would mention him on the futuresox board, but did the Sox really screw up on this one? LOL!
-
Like I said - they're built around the longball. Hmm - I didn't know Bajerneau (sp?) had an 'H' in his name. Is it Bajenaru, Bajearneau, or Baherhnau?
-
Without their three and four hitters... I was talking about Knuckle's comment of 'Why can't we do this every night?' or something to that effect. When your team is built around the longball, and your best HR hitters are out, you're team is going to be 'off' a lot of nights...
-
??? What's your friggin' point? Darrell May is a major leaguer too...
-
Yeah, because every night you face a pitcher with a five ERA... :rolly

Ruutu with two assists and a penalty in Finland's 4-4 tie with Sweden. Finland now clinches the Euro division, and will play Germany in the quarters. Ruutu with some big hits, didn't score, but two assists in three games. Man, I cannot wait to see some NHL hockey this year... The World Cup will be the last hockey we see in a while...

Hmm... If Houston has no intentions on resigning Berkman, I wouldn't mind him in our lineup... Then again, he'd probably cost 8-12 million, which would mean we'd have less money elsewhere, like pitching - where we really need it to go to.
-
You actually play with real money? I've never tried, I'd probably blow like 1000 in a day and have my parents kill me...
-
Well, at least the offense looked very good. Good job by the offensive line, great job by Basanez - damn, he was super-accurate last night, and even Herron did an alright job after a somewhat slow start. Then, the defense. Ugghhhhh...
-
I don't know where I heard this, but I've read and heard that the GM of Baltimore really likes (I think the story was that he drafted Pavano) Carl, and that he'll be a top of the list priority for the Orioles this offseason. I'd be content with grabbing Clement/Perez, and then loading up our bullpen...
-
Oh yeah - Howell, the kid from Texas, right? A little on the shorter side, but he's got a real nice curveball. I was so pissed when he went off the board to (KC, isn't it?) right at the beginning of the Comp A round. Then again, we grabbed a younger kid with just about as good of a curveball. Oh well, still would have been nice to grab both Howell and Gio in the comp round...

Everett has been alright for us. If we were healthy, Everett would be a great bat off the bench, with Maggs in right and Big Frank DH'ing. Hot Carl has been able to hit hit .270 or so for us. If he can hit around there next season, I don't mind having him on our team. And you guys complaining about losing Rauch and Majewski, would ya just give it a rest already?
-
You guys could go on and on about Huffman, it's true, he was brutal. But what the f*** was that s***ty play-calling by Northwestern on their final, OT2 losing drive? Two runs up the middle to start off the drive? What the f*** is that? Basanez throws for 470+ yards, and you're going to tell me your gonna run the ball with Noah Herron, not once, but twice, right up the f***ing gut? Absolutely brutal. s***ty defense. s***ty kicker. s***ty late-play calling...
-
TIE GAME! NOAH HERRON!
-
Ugh - Hobbs scores again. Our defense is playing piss poorly right now...
-
Touchdown WILDCATS! Johnathan Fields! Basanez looks MUCH better than last year. Good work by the O-Line as well...
-
Hmm, I didn't hear that. Philmore is having an excellent game. A great catch on the sideline, and now a nice run after catch on the WR screen.

*Official* Madden Thread (New One)

Someone help me out. I want to create Deion Sanders, but I don't know what to put his speed/agility/acceleration at. Can someone give me his 40 time again? Wasn't it 4.38 or something like that? Can someone give me a player who has a similar 40 time? -
Yeah, that's it. I hope he'll be ready for next week, we're playing terrible on defense. Nice, Noah breaks a pretty big run.
-
They aren't playing too well defensively. No pass rush, it hurts when one of your better pass rushers is out. I forgot is name, but he's sitting out tonights game. It kind of sucks, but this game is far from over.

I'm very pleased with the play of Fields and Sweeney at Winston-Salem. Both have seemed to settle into a nice groove, after both struggled a bit early. How is Fields doing power-wise? I'm not that worried if he isn't hitting a lot of homers, but wasn't he slated as the best power hitter in this draft? One more thing, off topic - IIRC, the Cincy Reds drafted BJ Syzmanski (sp?). I'm just wondering, how's he doing? Or is he unsigned?
-
Noah Herron, busts right through the line, and it's a 13-7 game. Come on, Wildcat defense! Big stop right here! Northwestern 7, TCU 13. Second quarter.

I think a key to next season will be that we'll really need to solidify our bullpen. A strong bullpen is the key in the playoffs, probably even moreso than having five quality starters. We have four quality starters. Sign Matt Clement or Odalis Perez, who are probably a notch below Pedro/Pavano (I'm not very fond of having 30+ million invested in our pitching staff, just because of the chance of injury.) Then, pick up two very good relievers to go with Marte-Shingo. Then, I'm confident Bajerneau, Cotts, and Adkins/Grilli/Diaz can be solid pitchers out of the bullpen... Then, like others have mentioned, we can trade one of Konerko/Lee for a contact/OBP guy, JD Drew would be ideal. I'm dreaming, but this would be awesome. Trading for one of Damon, sign JD Drew - and have an outfield of Drew-Damon-Rowand. Trade for Jerry Hairston, platoon him at second with Harris. Let Uribe play short, Konerko stays at first with a grinder at third, like Koskie. Trade Lee for a good package of players, sort of what the Cards did with Drew last season. I'll take a lineup of: CF Damon RF Rowand DH Thomas LF Drew 1B Konerko 3B Koskie C Davis/Burke SS Uribe 2B Hairston/Harris Everett would be a hell of a bat off the bench, with Gload, Perez, etc. Probably a bit of dreaming on my part, but that could be accomplished - couldn't it? Thoughts?
