You have to love how the LA Times portrays a situation like this. Cop = perp & perp = good guy. Here's a guy rolling around the neighborhood, high as a kite by his own admission playing stupid games with the police ( stopping then rolling away again as they get out ), almost takes out a house with his SUV, then backs up toward police officers. It's probably a fact lost on the LA Times staff writers but when you drive a vehicle toward dismounted police officers that is a direct threat on their lives and they have the right to use deadly force to end the threat.
i too was thinking they wrote that in a very bad light. saw the video on news like most probably have and guy obviously squeeled his tires and took off towards the police and think it was natural reaction for them to shoot. although they probably should have thought it out more considering their surroundings, no one except the idiot was really hurt so who knows. the dude is very lucky...
