  1. Would you want to talk to a guy who almost traded you? I think it's good that Ordonez is getting his mind off of the organization, and just focusing on his native country, and the team.
  2. You want a Tom Brady, Joe Montana comparison, here's one from a commercial... Announcer: So tom, what are you going to do now that you won the super bowl..? Brady: I'm going back to disneyland. That's enough convincing for me.

That's who I believe it was as well. Doesn't he own the Guiness World Record for the most Streaking?!
  5. Man tony, I thought you were the smartest person on this site!
  6. The reason why they benched Brees was because he was struggling. (or injured can't remember) They gave him some time to gather his thoughts mentally for the game. That's why Flutie was QBing for a bit. If grossy was struggeling during the season, I'm sure they would bench him a game or two just to calm him. (They did it with Harrington before the heart thing) If you noticed on one of the articles, The Charger organization, even the coach said it, said that brees is the future.
  7. Shut up butters you'll speak when spoken too.
  8. Very true. But Paulie will speak his mind at will. That's why I believe he's going to be a good clubhouse leader, even without respectable numbers, cause he wants his team to win. Even if he was benched, he just wants to see his teammates give it their all. I'm sure they respect that even if he hits .250 (which I don't think will happen cause if was just this one bad year.)
  9. I understand. It's an honest mistake.
  10. I didn't say Willie was a clubhouse leader. As hawk has said he is a BUNDLE of energy. He can motivate his players (esp. the veterans) to play with more of that energy. Your right about Pauly. But he has been having good years. Just this last season he struggled. So you can't say he dosen't show it on the field all the time. He tries hard to fix his swing to make him better.
  11. No I said that because Ozzie himself said Maggs would bat third in his lineup. It would be better if he does too.
  12. Crede is a quiet guy in the clubhouse. He just shows his play on the field, and produce. Carlos Lee is a guy I can see getting a clubhouse warm. Real funny guy. Paul Konerko is another. Hell, he spoke out against frank. He can really give his teammates a spark. And Willie Harris can get his energy in his teammates too.
  13. Wait... I thought Maggs was batting third.
  14. That just reminded me of Frank's own teammate Magglio Ordonez in that sense.
  15. True, but they are not MAJOR upgrades like I said at the top. Sure they did improve offensively, they still don't have the pitching that the sox, twins, even the royals have. Pitching wins ballgames. But they can play spoiler like you said. (they did that with us last year.. )
  16. They've already said Drew Brees is their QB of the future. How can you say he's a flop when he's still young, and still gaining experience in this league?
  17. Come on. That Vina and Rondell White signing are major upgrades to that team. They are going to win this division easily.
  18. Sorry that was the funny part for me there. It's good to know that Honel has that sense of humor in his journals.
  19. Great site Rauch. I can't get enough of Minor League sites. I'm impressed by one of Honel's articles I read. Here's a good one, and the latest one. He said alot of people have compared him to Mussina. He's learning how to watch him pitch. Interesting.. Kris Honel Journal Kris Honel -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Power Arms in the Playoffs By Kris Honel Oct 15, 2003, 08:16 Email this article Printer friendly page What unbelievable playoff baseball – too bad it is not the other Chicago team playing! Too be blunt, after seeing all the baseball all summer long, part of me wants to get removed from watching any more, but these guys have been incredible. I do think it helps to have the markets of Chicago, Boston, and New York involved. Those people are just so passionate about their teams. It is fun for me to see and watch the different style of pitchers. I am shocked how many power arms are out there – Wood, Schmidt, Beckett, Farnsworth, … It seems that almost every other guy runs it up there mid nineties. I have tried to pay close attention to Mike Mussina and his outings this post season. Ever since I was in high school, a lot of people have compared my in style to Mussina. Frankly, with us playing all the time, I really do not get to see him much. I really now see why some people say that – although obviously Mussina is quite a bit ahead of me level right now. He shows a fastball that sits around 90, good sink when need be, a power curve, and confidence in his change. Our arm angles are similar and I do try to pitch in many of the same sequences as him. Now, if only I can have even a sliver of his success and paychecks! I have already begun my off-season workouts in the Chicago area. I hope to lift and run on a daily basis, and I have added swimming as a way to build endurance and strength. I took up swimming last year, and it put some extra weight on me as well as allowed me to get through the 2003 season stronger than ever. © Copyright 2000-2003 by Star Struck's ATTHEYARD.COM
