  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:39 PM) 4-7? I sure hope so, but that seems optimistic to me. The only "sure things" IMO are Robertson and Frazier. Probably Swarzak, too. I would think Melky is gone as well as a pending FA.

  3. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) His response for trading with the Cubs is on the money. They're not going to take less to not trade with the Cubs I love his answer on 670 the score when he said he wish he didn't have to do these interviews because he wants to get back on the phone and get some more deals done.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) Get all the power arms we can. I feel fairly confident we can squeeze lots of value out of pitchers like Adams/Stephens/Guerrero/Dunning than other orgs. Completely agree. Cease probably has the second best stuff in the org now after Kopech. I'm so jelly of FutureSox staff members right now.
  5. Alright Hahn, Robertson is next, maybe Frazier after that.
  6. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:12 AM) Favorite Sox pitcher since Buehrle easily. Will miss you greatly Quintana. Same. Great guy on and off the field.
  7. Even if Cease turns out to be a reliever because of the injury risk, I still like the trade. 98-100 with a breaking ball compared to Dwight freaking Gooden?!?! Yea you can put that in the pen.
  8. We've got to have the #1 farm system now, at worst #2.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:57 AM) Now I can watch Eloy highlights and not be jealous Love his swing. I still remember the catch he made last year in the Futures Game too and Moncada ran out there to see if he was ok and got the out. Now we have both of them.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:32 AM) Wish the back half was stronger I wish at least we got a younger player who might be putting up crappy numbers right now but at least has upside, but I won't complain. Cease is gonna be an interesting follow for me. Electric stuff. Had TJS, but hasn't missed a beat. I'll say this, as DA pointed out, Rose could be a diamond in the rough. Has really flashed the power.
  11. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:01 AM) @scottmerkin Following More White Sox reliever Nate Jones underwent nerve repositioning surgery in his right elbow on Tuesday. He will miss the remainder of this season Man that sounds career threatening. Best of luck to Nate. That's awful.
  12. Gavin Sheets is becoming a fun follow as well. Outstanding BB/SO ratio to start. 9 game hitting streak.
  13. https://mobile.twitter.com/TheFakeESPN/stat...3154560/video/1 Well done Peyton, well done.
  14. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:34 PM) I'm fine shipping Q across town for Jimenez, Cease, Albertos & Ademan I can definitely see the latter 2 if the rumors are true about lower lewel spects. Law likes Albertos alot.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:17 PM) Yes, as someone said earlier, not sure if the Braves trade Acuna for Q straight up That poster is one of the couple here that will probably be disappointed with a Q return with the extremely high return he thinks Q will net.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:05 PM) Yep Happ is a stud. Shockingly great athlete. It's a shame the Brewers just drafted Hiura. He reminded me so much of Happ in college.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:01 PM) Cease should be 2-b as a prospect with a 2-a involved and I would be surprised if it's not Candelario (I'm not a fan) I'm not a Candelario fan either... at all. Said that months ago when I was gushing over Ian Happ before he got called up.
  18. QUOTE (OklahomaBrave @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:57 PM) Can't argue that. Eloy/Robles/Acuna in any order I believe are the best three OF prospects in the game. I like both Eloy and Acuna best, personally as I think they have better offensive potential. He and Acuna both looked outstanding in the Futures Game.
  19. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:45 PM) So probably Cease, Jimenez, Cadlareo, and who? And this is not a great package IMO Jimenez is definitely not the main piece I'd want out of those talked about. Just interested in hearing what led to this Cubs hype? Jimenez is legit. I'd be stoked to get him. Cease on the other hand is a question mark. Great stuff (throws 100+, great breaking ball, etc), but as fathom pointed out earlier, scouts have questioned if he's a starter long term. Plus, he's had TJS before. He's a good second piece, but risky.
  20. With the pitchers the Cubs just drafted, trading Cease + for MLB pitching makes a ton of sense.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 08:13 PM) Burger seems to get hbp a lot He stands right on top of the plate when he hits. No wonder his OBP is sexy.
