Make that a 6 game hitting streak for Collins.

Zimmerman did something that I'm shocked not many pitchers do when facing Tim.. don't throw him any strikes.

Updated teams interested in Q
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) Cafardo with some concerning comments about some teams cooking on Q and questions about his health. He seems fine to me https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/06/cafa...p;post-id=93654 "WBC syndrome".

6/3 Games
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:37 PM) 1 hit each game? 4 of the 5. Still, a hitting streak is a hitting streak. He's picked up his average quite a bit. I'm sure that will continue as the weather gets warmer.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:31 PM) 0-3 3K for Collins. That hit tool is very underwhelming Had a 5 game hitting streak prior to this game.

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 03:48 PM) I think he goes top 10. I'd be underwhelmed with that pick personally. He doesn't have enough power for me. I need my 1B to mash and he just doesn't. He'll hit and he won't strikeout very much but he's probably a 15-20 HR guy. I think you go for upside and guys that might be able to play a premium position when you pick high. Sox can find a 1B when it's time to win. That's just my take though. That's putting it mildly. Dude screams Casey Kotchman to me. Plus, I loathe picking a 1B that high unless he is absolutely special.

If Tim can learn to tone down a bit of his aggressiveness, he'll be a monster.

6/2 Games
QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 2, 2017 -> 08:40 PM) Jim Margalus at SSS put a Gavin Floyd comp on Giolito and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I think he'll eventually stick as a SP, but making that happen definitely looks like a long-term project right now. Told my buddy the same comp the other day. Big guys, great frame for pitchers, former 1st round picks who were known since high school with big fastballs at the time. Outstanding curveballs, have/had mechanic issues and mentally at times. Giolito was the better prospect and I think he'll be a better pro, but I will gladly take Floyd's peak 09-11 years from Gio in the future.

2016-2017 NBA Thread
I think the refs will help Cleveland win a game, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was a sweep. People forget Curry was injured last year when these two teams met.

5/31 Games
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ May 31, 2017 -> 06:00 PM) This guy is a mess. He just faced the same team he no hit his last start. You expected him to no hit them again or for that team to not have a better game plan against him?

Keith Law Mock Draft 2.0
QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 30, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) Hmm. I think I'd prefer Bukauskas if he's still on the board at that point. https://mobile.twitter.com/670TheScore/stat...550406296375297 Lets hope Bukauskas is rated higher on their board (which I would think he would be). Still hoping a guy like Haseley somehow falls to us of course.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2017 -> 07:42 PM) He's repeating AAA and has a near 5 ERA. If he struggles the rest of the way, you have to try something different next season. Sox seriously rushed him. I still hate how they developed Fulmer (I've gone on record saying they in some ways killed his development) but I don't think you give up on him as a SP just yet. Kid just can't command anything right now.

5/28 Games
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2017 -> 07:29 PM) The problem is Fulmer looks more like Addison Reed than Benintendi or Happ, lol. You can throw 92-94 without impeccable location anymore as a starter...you have to be 95-98 or have remarkable movement He's been as high as 95-96 according to people on twitter. I'm watching him now and he's hitting 92-94 with a slow Charlotte gun. Velocity hasn't been his problem. Hell, his first 2 runs in the 1st inning was off a guy swinging at a 3-0 count. 3rd run was off an ole defensive play by Delmonico.

Zavala with another homerun. His 3rd in 4 days. 10 on the year. He had 11 total in 2 seasons prior.

Which surprisingly productive role player do you believe in the most?
I'm the biggest Sanchez fan (love Davidson too), but I think Garcia has the best future here from that list, as a utility guy at worst. At least with Garcia, no prospect we have in the minors currently is ready to step in for him unlike the other two possibly (Moncada, Delmonico)

Adam Engel
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2017 -> 01:56 PM) Can you think of anyone else who holds the bat in such an exaggerated fashion in the last 10-15 years, and was successful doing so? Kevin Youkilis had a pretty nice career. I'm sure there's others.
